Positive-shuttle-motion Type Patents (Class 139/344)
  • Patent number: 4763699
Abstract: System of detection of a shed closed to passage of a shuttle in a multi-phase weaving textile loom. This invention is comprised of the following: sensitive control bars made elastically movable along the vertical direction, with a stroke at least equalling the vertical shift necessary for the shuttle roller to disengage from the corresponding thrust roller of the dragging chain of the same shuttle; two adjoining sensitive control blades, both are on the rotary-reed facing divergent side wall of each shuttle; the outward blade is fixed and rigid while the longer inward blade is rotatable around a vertical axis; and upon detection of a persistent entanglement by the control blades, a lever pin, kept in a retracted position by a retainer hook, is freed by movement of the retainer hook such that the lever pin springs outwards to protrude from the shuttle plane, pressing upon a sensitive control bar, generating a stop loom signal.

  • Patent number: 4136717
Abstract: A mechanism of a travelling-wave loom comprises a rotary reed and a separating grate composed of pivoted and stationary portions forming a channel for the weft thread carriers to be partially accommodated therein. Each of the portions is formed by plates, the pivoted portion having a plurality of strips swivelled to the stationary portion. Attached to each strip are plates of the pivoted portion. Near the strips there are installed devices adapted to cooperate therewith and to accomplish coupling thereof with the stop motion of the loom. This makes it possible to minimize the probability of damage to the plates of the separating grate and to improve the reliability of operation of the loom.

  • Patent number: 4135556
Abstract: A method of and a device for stopping the movement of a weft-carrier or shuttle when an obstruction is in the shed of a loom without damaging the loom or fabric being woven. The device includes a power operated shuttle drive mechanism adapted to engage the shuttle to move the shuttle through a shed, and a sensitive section adapted to be responsive to forces produced by an obstruction in the shed. When such forces exceed a predetermined value, the sensitive section actuates a transducer to stop the supply of power to shuttle drive mechanism and reduces to zero the forces being applied to the shuttle by its drive mechanism.
