  • Patent number: 11560649
Abstract: There is provided a method of manufacturing a woven textile, in which a plurality of warp yarns is interlaced with a plurality of weft yarns. A selvedge is formed by interlacing a first subset of the warp yarns with a first subset of the weft yarns and interlacing a second subset of the warp yarns with a second subset of the weft yarns. The first subset of the warp yarns is not interlaced with the second subset of the weft yarns and the second subset of the warp yarns is not interlaced with the first subset of the weft yarns. The method may be used to manufacture a multilayer textile.

  • Patent number: 10697624
Abstract: There are provided an apparatus for heat exchange by using a braided fabric woven from a thermally conductive wire material and a light emitting diode (LED) lighting device. The apparatus comprises a braided fabric (1) woven from a thermally conductive wire material, and a heat dissipating or absorbing object (2) is fixed with the braided fabric (1) by using methods such as welding, adhering with a thermally conductive adhesive and casting, so as to ensure that heat energy is effectively conducted between the heat dissipating or absorbing object (2) and the thermally conductive wire of the braided fabric (1), and heat is dissipated to air or absorbed from air by means of a heat dissipating surface of the thermally conductive wire of the braided fabric (1).

  • Patent number: 6817384
Abstract: In an improved method of weaving straw decorative ribbons by plastic tapes, the plastic tape is used as the warp or weft, and a nylon string as the weft or warp to weave a piece of cloth by the square weaving method of a weaving machine, such that the plastic tape and nylon are weaved with each other in a predetermined distance apart, and the plastic tapes are weaved and leaned against each other like a piece of cloth, and the side proximate to the weaved position is cut such that each plastic weaved unit has a weaved section and a tassel section, and both sides of the weaved section are stitched to fix the plastic tape and to prevent the edge of the cloth from drawing out. The present invention accomplishes the fast manufacturing of decorative ribbons for all kinds of articles, simulates the man-made straw umbrella by using plant materials, and provides a way for mass production and effectively lowers the cost.

  • Patent number: 5677056
Abstract: An elongate webbing has opposed longitudinal edges formed from warp and fill yarns interwoven together, and a catch cord for interconnecting the fill yarns adjacent one of the longitudinal edges. The catch cord is fabricated from a yarn having a component with a melting point lower than the warp and fill yarns for bonding of the catch cord with the warp and fill yarns when being subjected to a melting temperature sufficient to melt the catch cord but not the warp and fill yarns. More specifically, the catch cord is fabricated from a bicomponent yarn having a plurality of individual filaments, each filament having a core and an outer sheath. The melting point of the sheath of each filament is lower than that of its core. The core of each filament is preferably fabricated from polyester having a melting point at about 489.degree. F.

  • Patent number: 5467802
Abstract: Woven sleeving having integral tie cords for bundling and harnessing electrical cables and other elongated substrates is disclosed. The sleeving is woven by displacing catch cords a fixed distance from the fabric selvages and raising the catch cords at predetermined intervals to effect a looping of the fill yarn at predetermined intervals. The fill yarn may extend directly from the selvage or from points spaced inwardly from the selvage so as to creat a tab area along the margin of the sleeve so that the sleeve margins overlap when the sleeve is fastened in place.

  • Patent number: 5389421
Abstract: A Wilton-type carpet and methods of making integral fringes on it, of affixing a decorative border around the periphery of the carpet and of inlaying decorative strands within the design of the carpet. The method creates integral fringes by the one way looming of the face yarns and by the severance of two transverse backing strands. The backing is undone while simultaneously releasing face yarns to act as the fringes. The method also provides a shelf at the fringe/carpet face interface allowing for a decorative trim to be affixed thereto. Another aspect of the method entails the complete removal of face yarns at both left and right sides to result in a shelf along the left and right sides to which decorative trim can be affixed. The face yarns within the carpet face can be removed in both the longitudinal and transverse directions to inlay decorative yarn therein.

  • Patent number: 4562868
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a woven band having novel yarn patterns by crosswise motion and hooking of warp threads on or within the stitch selvedge of an elastic rigid woven band. A thrower 3 includes a means for hooking and transversely shifting one or more warp threads and/or one or more intermediate yarns in the direction of the warp threads to the body of the article being made. The shifting of one of these yarns is effected in accordance with a pre-determined cycle. The yarns are thereafter either meshed or inserted within the mesh to obtain embroidery effects or runproof products.

  • Patent number: 4510975
Abstract: This invention relates to a woven textile product, such as a mat, and a method for manufacturing said product. The product is in the center provided with a layer which is formed by supporting warp threads and on both sides of which are provided weft threads which are bound to each other by means of binding warp threads crossing the layer of supporting warp threads. The product can in a simple manner be provided with fringes by dividing the binding or supporting warp threads in the edge area of the product into two groups, by means of which two adjoining edge strips are formed between which the warp threads not used in the edge strips project as fringes.
