At least one wall of the treatment chamber is arranged to be movable. A sealing assembly seals the treatment chamber in an area with regard to elements of the apparatus, which are movable relative to each other, against the environment external of the treatment chamber. The sealing assembly includes a surrounding channel, into which a liquid sealing agent can be introduced, as well as a secondary wall which is arranged within the channel at least in sections.

The cylinder length to diameter is substantially elongated to make for precision adjustments of cylinder volume as the rod is located variably into and from the cylinder.     Abstract: A composite measure of varying capacity, composed of supplying-aperture of straight cylinder and an inside measure telescopically inserted into the aperture and having a hollow of frusto-conical section, is employed in order to improve accommodation of the known conventional capacity type rotary powder filling machine, to powder of varying bulk density.A turntable which receives the supplying-aperture, superimposes over another turntable which holds the inside measure, and the distance between the both, is adjustable during the operation in accordance with the variance in the bulk density. The height of the container transferring path is also adjustable simultaneously with that of the second turntable.Spouting of compressed-air through an annular nozzle the diameter of which approximates to that of the aperture as a flow parallel to their inside wall is effected to blow off remaining powder in the measure and clean the same when the nozzle is disposed on the aperture.

    Abstract: In a container filling apparatus having a plurality of revolving charging cylinders and respective pistons by which a fluid material supplied into the cylinders with their pistons at the limit end of their intake strokes is subsequently pushed out of the cylinders to fill respective containers, an adjusting screw is provided to set by its one end the limit of the intake stroke of the piston rod of each piston and has a sprocket-like wheel fixed to its other end and actuated in incremental rotation by the piston rods of stationary air cylinders fixed to the apparatus frame when the wheel, revolving with its cylinder, is engaged by the piston rods. The activation of the air cylinders is controlled by electrical control means by which the limit of the intake stroke of any piston and, therefore, the filling quantity of the corresponding cylinder can be adjusted without danger and without stopping the operation of the apparatus.

    Abstract: An apparatus particularly suited for rotary filler a mold or a container such as a lipstick pomade with fatty moldable substances by an end filling technique is disclosed. A puck mold and an inverted pomade container carried thereby is conveyed to the apparatus for filling and from the apparatus once filling has been completed for further processing. The apparatus includes a rotating frame including a plurality of lift platforms for supporting the puck mold during filling. The frame includes a housing and a depending filling stem and piston assembly. The piston assembly is adapted to receive a charge of the moldable substance from a housing manifold. A valve is provided within a flow line between the assembly and the stem to open communication from the assembly to the stem and to close communication from the assembly to the manifold, and vice versa.

    Abstract: A filling machine for filling containers includes a receptacle for holding the substance to be filled and cylinders disposed in a circle around the exterior of the receptacle and connectible to the receptacle and to discharge openings. Each cylinder contains a piston supporting a stub shaft projecting radially outwards from the axis of the cylinder. A sleeve axially movable on each stub shaft, and lockable on the stub shaft supports, slipper means in sliding contact with upper and lower tracks of an endless track member surrounding the central receptacle. Means is provided for altering the angles the planes of the upper and lower tracks make with the axes of the cylinders and for rotating the central receptacle and the cylinders about the vertical axis of the central receptacle relatively to the track.
