Displacement Type Patents (Class 141/245)
  • Patent number: 10421654
Abstract: A filling-element assembly for both pressurized and open-jet filling of containers includes a filling element having a filling-element housing, a liquid valve, a return-gas channel, and a seal. The housing has a fixed first segment, a vertically movable second segment, and an extendable segment between them to surrounds the valve housing in a fluid-tight manner. A return-gas channel extends along the filling-element axis between the valve housing and the filling-element housing. In a raised position of the second segment, the seal contacts the valve housing along a circumferential contact area and seals the filling-element discharge opening thereby forming a fluid-tight closure for the return-gas channel.

  • Patent number: 5044758
Abstract: A caulk mix and transfer apparatus includes a caulk jar for holding uncolored caulk and for receiving unmixed pigment. The jar has a mix lid and a transfer lid. Empty caulk tubes are attached to the transfer lid and the mix lid includes a rotatable blade. A machine for mixing the pigment and caulk in the caulk jar and for transferring the mixture to the caulk tubes includes means for engaging the jar and mixing the pigment and caulk therein with the mix lid and includes means for engaging the jar and transferring the mixture to the caulk tubes through the transfer lid.

  • Patent number: 4821921
Abstract: Liquid dispensing apparatus is disclosed having at least one liquid dispensing chamber and an associated prefill chamber with displacement mechanism for transferring liquid therefrom to the dispensing chamber. The dispensing chamber is in communication with the prefill chamber over a weir so that liquid in the dispensing chamber in excess of a predetermined measure flows back over the weir to the prefill chamber. The dispensing chamber has an outlet openable and closable by a seal to dispense the measure held in the dispensing chamber.

  • Patent number: 4796787
Abstract: An apparatus for supplying an accurately measured volume of liquid, comprising a vessel filled with the liquid, a cylinder loosely and slidably fitted into the vessel from above, and a sealing box at the top of the vessel sealing the vertical motion of the cylinder. The sealing box has a liquid discharge port at a bottom edge. A drive shaft, preferably screw driven, moves the cylinder vertically downward.

  • Patent number: 4693286
Abstract: A piston is forced in a direction to disengage from a cylinder containing a fluid such as an adhesive. The piston while in engagement with the cylinder abuts a stop in response to the disengagement force. While the disengagement force is kept on the piston, the chamber between the fluid and piston in the cylinder is evacuated. After evacuation, the disengagement force on the piston is gradually released and the piston is forced against the fluid to squeeze the fluid through fluid couplings into an array of corresponding containers releasably secured to the piston, simultaneously filling the containers without exposing the fluid to air.

  • Patent number: 4511534
Abstract: The liquid transfer device includes a one-piece molded barrel plate having a plurality of syringe-type barrels extending downwardly therefrom and support flange extending downwardly about the perimeter of the barrel plate. An elastic membrane rests on and is substantially coextensive with the upper surface of the barrel plate. A retaining plate having a plurality of apertures in alignment with the respective barrels is detachably mounted on the barrel plate in either a first position wherein annular projections about each aperture lightly engage the membrane to hold it in place or a second position wherein the projections extend into each barrel to seal the membrane about the upper edge of each barrel. A plunger having a plurality of pins is placed on the retaining plate with the pins extending through the apertures to engage the membrane. Depressing and releasing the plunger will draw a predetermined amount of liquid into each barrel.
