  • Patent number: 10850970
Abstract: A gravity-fed fuel delivery system is provided. A central storage tank holds fuel to re-supply a number of pump trucks or other mechanized equipment, such as on a hydraulic fracturing location, and can be selectively raised or lowered. Hoses or other conduits extend from the central storage tank to individual engines of the equipment to be refueled. Adapters allow connection of the distal end of each hose or conduit to an inlet of the suction side of the engine. Adaptors also allow connection of the return side of the engine's fuel system back to the central storage tank. Thereby mechanically allowing flow from the central storage tank, through the engine's fuel system, supply fuel for the engine to burn and allowing the return or unburned fuel a path back to the central storage tank.

The dosing of the portions is altered on deviation of the volume outputs from the volume set point so as to bring same into agreement. In addition the packages are weighed downstream to produce actual-value outputs that correspond to the weights of the packages and that are compared with a set point corresponding to a desired weight.

  • Patent number: 5086817
Abstract: A device that holds a pitcher at a preselected angle of tilt while the pitcher is being filled with a beverage. Where beer is the beverage, the angle of tilt ensures that the beer will flow down the inner side walls of the pitcher, thereby suppressing the foam or head that would develop if the pitcher were charged while in an upright disposition. The weight of the beer as it gradually fills the pitcher gradually overcomes the bias that causes the initial tilting so that the head is continually suppressed throughout the charging operation and so that the pitcher is completely upright when filled. The device saves its user from having to hold a heavy pitcher at a tilted position throughout the charging process.

Abstract: A movable abutment plate (28) which is bound by common vertical guide to a vertical axis, an axially hollow turntable (9) carrying two sets of vertical dosing devices (V1V2) and a central cap-shaped screw (29) secured to the top end of bar (33) are provided. Bar (33) passes through the turntable (9) and turret (1), such that the bar extends into the lower part of the dosing machine, where the bar (33) includes a crown gear (36) with suitably shaped peripheral apertures (37) arranged in an equispaced relation. When turntable (9) is lowered, one of the apertures (37) in crown gear (36) engages with a crankpin (41) which is fitted on the slowly rotating shaft of geared motor (43) controlled by encoder (44). When the volume of dosing devices (V1, V2) needs adjustment, turntable (9) is temporarily lowered and geared motor (43) is actuated to thereby lift or lower plate (28), against which bear the lateral appendices (25) of the moving elements of the dosing devices (V1, V2).

Abstract: An aerosol can containing a liquid propellant is placed on a can support platform (44). An operator actuated fluid control switch (84) provides pneumatic fluid or compressed air to a pneumatic cylinder (46) which continuously biases the aerosol can upward into engagement with a reservoir outlet (66) of a liquid reservoir (60). A sensing switch (52) senses movement of the can support, hence, the aerosol can. An operator actuated start valve (92) enables compressed air to be supplied cyclically (78a, 78b, 96) to a pump pneumatic cylinder (70). A pump (74) driven by the cylinder cycles a preselected number of times as counted by counter (90) to pump a preselected amount of liquid from the reservoir through the reservoir outlet and into the aerosol can.

  • Patent number: 4830068
Abstract: A device for the simultaneous quantitative regulated filling of liquid or soft plasticized substances, such as butter, margarine, pastes or the like, by means of nozzles into adjacently arranged containers with the assistance of at least one control element interchangeably switchable from filling to discharging and at least one dosing piston. The device is arranged in such a way that two adjacent nozzles arranged in tandem are assigned one control element and one dosing piston. A passageway in the transition region from the actual dosing device to the nozzles can be adjusted preferably by means of a regulating valve whose angle of rotation can be altered. This regulating valve provides for an especially delicately sensitive and precise distribution of the product stream onto the one or the other nozzle for the purpose of balancing the output volume.

A sealing ring is mounted on the lower end of the first piston for sealing engagement with the rim of a container to be filled and a passage is provided for allowing gas pressure within the container to enter the bottom of the first cylinder to provide a pressure differential on the first piston depending upon the diameter of the container. A second piston is slidably mounted for vertical reciprocating movement within a second cylinder and is operatively connected to the first piston. First and second pneumatic pressure supplies are connected to the second cylinder above and below the second piston for regulating the pressure applied between the sealing ring on the first piston and the rim of a container being filled.

  • Patent number: 4635688
Abstract: Each filling station comprises a balance (36) and a piston and cylinder volumetric dispenser (37). The piston rod (33) is actuated by a cam (34) which optionally includes a portion (341) which is adjustable. Resilient means (40) are interposed between the cam and the piston. While a receptacle (39) is engaged in a filling station the following operations take place in succession: the empty receptacle is weighed and at the same time the volumetric dispenser is filled with slightly more material than is to be dispensed; the material in the volumetric dispenser (37) is then transferred to the receptacle (39) and the receptacle is continuously weighed until it has received the set weight of material. The outlet from the dispenser is then closed, thus jamming its piston before it reaches the end of its stroke. The resulting forces are absorbed by the resilient means.

  • Patent number: 4447382
Abstract: An apparatus for making a foam pad for carpets has features to improve the quality of the pad. The apparatus has a hopper section for receiving foam particles coated with heat activated bonding agent. An extruder section compresses the particles as they are moved continuously along a conveyor belt. A heat section heats the particles after being compressed. A raking device in the hopper section rakes the top of the body of particles prior to entering the extruder section. The raking device rakes in a direction opposite to the movement of the body of particles. The raking device can be raised and lowered to change the level of the particles, and thus the density. The raking device also forms the top of the body of particles with upwardly tapered corners. A plate located below the hopper and extruder sections supports the lower conveyor belt. The heat section uses steam chambers with a perforated top, which also serves to support the conveyor belt.
