Vent Laterally Shiftable Patents (Class 141/289)
  • Patent number: 6394149
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for loading organic chemical liquids in a transporting vessel are described. The invention provides for selective transfer of vapor released during loading to a vapor control system or to vent. A vapor control logic system which controls flow direction of vapor captured from a transporting vessel being loaded, either to a vapor control system, or to vent in the environment, is described.

  • Patent number: 6367520
Abstract: A fuel-filler inlet for motor vehicles comprises a closure neck, an insert associated with the closure neck, a filling chamber downstream of the insert, and a filling tube downstream of the filling chamber which leads to a fuel tank. In order to achieve good guidance of the fuel nozzle, reliable response of the expansion port and ventilation during the fuel-dispensing operation, a collar is provided between the filling chamber and filling tube, the internal diameter of which is somewhat larger than that of the opening tube of a fuel nozzle. The collar provides through-passage openings which, with the fuel nozzle inserted, produce a flow connection between the filling tube and filling chamber.

  • Patent number: 6158482
Abstract: A device for filling a high-pressure CO.sub.2 cylinder with liquid CO.sub.2 while venting gaseous CO.sub.2 comprises a two-compartment chamber that is installed in the top opening of the cylinder. A first dip tube connected to one compartment extends to the bottom portion of the cylinder and a second dip tube connected to the other compartment extends to the upper portion of the cylinder. Each compartment has a port for flow into or out of the compartment. Liquid CO.sub.2 introduced into the compartment with the first dip tube will flow into the cylinder and cause gaseous CO.sub.2 to exit through the second dip tube and the other compartment. When liquid CO.sub.2 appears in the exiting stream, the introduction of liquid CO.sub.2 is stopped. In a common embodiment, a conventional CO.sub.2 valve has the first dip tube connected to the bottom thereof. A street tee with one end connected to the second dip tube is screwed into the top opening of the cylinder. The CO.sub.

  • Patent number: 5289850
Abstract: A coupling for use in connecting a pair of conduits in fluid communication includes a plug assembly having a fluid flow passage therethrough and adapted to be connected with one of the conduits and a socket assembly having a fluid flow passage therethrough and adapted to be connected with another of the conduits. The coupling includes a vent valve assembly for venting of fluid pressure in the plug and socket assemblies and the conduits. The vent valve assembly includes an outlet port having a seat and a valve member biased into abutting engagement with the seat to block fluid flow through the outlet port. The vent valve assembly further includes a manually actuatable member for moving the valve member out of engagement with the seat to enable fluid to flow through the outlet port.

  • Patent number: 4597423
Abstract: The invention comprises a refrigerated water cooler having seat for supporting an inverted water bottle and an interior inverted funnel whose narrow upper portion terminates in a knife edge. Insertion of the inverted water bottle causes the sealed mouth to engage the knife edge, open the seal and permit water to flow into the funnel and then into the cooling and dispensing portion of the cooler.
