  • Patent number: 8550127
Abstract: A reformer tube processing and filling system is provided for ensuring uniformity of reformer tube flow rates and reactivity. The disclosed invention provides a system for detecting and removing tube obstructions, as well as an automated process for verifying the flow rate for each tube and identifying tubes with abnormal flow rates to remove a source of human error and conserve labor costs. An automated tube filling system provides a calibrated fill mechanism coordinated with a calibrated loading rope withdrawal mechanism to ensure loading consistency. A lack of vibrating parts ensures a low dust count, and what little dust is present is removed via a built-in vacuum outlet in the loader.

  • Patent number: 8151836
Abstract: A closure for the neck of a container such as a water bottle includes a cap 32 for engagement with the neck, and a valve plug 44. The cap has an inner guide sleeve 38 which sealingly receives the valve plug 44, which is provided with latches 50. When the bottle is placed on a liquid dispensing station such as a water cooler a probe 5 sealably enters the sleeve 38 and an actuator head 70 engages the latches 50 to carry the plug out of the sleeve 38. The probe requires minimum insertion force. One or more water flow ports 72 are provided in the probe 5 to conduct water out of the bottle, while air may enter the bottle via a vent port 73 and vent apertures in the valve plug 44. • Patent number: 6263928
Abstract: A container for use in a closed application system includes a valve mounted to a discharge opening of the container and rotatable with the container for controlling the discharge of material from the container. The valve includes an element for engaging corresponding structure in a receptacle for receiving the contents of the container. The element engages and locks the valve in the receptacle when the valve is opened and the contents are being discharged from the container into the receptacle. The valve element and the corresponding structure on the receptacle cooperate so that the container can only be received in and removed from the receptacle when the valve is closed. In this manner, the contents in the container can be discharged only when the container is received within the receptacle and the container is rotated in a direction to open the valve.

  • Patent number: 6253804
Abstract: A transfer guard for use by an individual for transferring contents from a supply container into a receiver container includes a supply adapter, a receiver adapter, a support structure and a needle. The supply adapter connects the supply container to the transfer guard, and the receiver adapter connects the receiver container to the transfer guard. The support structure couples the supply adapter with the receiver adapter, and the needle passes through the supply adapter and the receiver adapter. The needle is attached to one of the adapters for support and provides a passage for the contents to transfer from the supply container into the receiver container. The needle also includes at least one pointed end that is substantially protected by the transfer guard from contact with the user.

  • Patent number: 6095207
Abstract: In a sealing device for a filling opening, especially for sealing it against the escape of fuel fumes when filling stationary or mobile supply tanks, a seal is located in the vicinity of the filling opening and abuts in a sealing fashion an object such as a filling device that is inserted into the filling opening. The seal automatically controlled by means of a control unit between an inactive resting position and an active sealing position of the seal. As a result, the seal is protected especially well against damage during insertion or withdrawal of the filling device, and reliable sealing can be expected in the long term.

  • Patent number: 5918650
Abstract: A liquid transfer tool allows a nearly empty plastic bottle to be emptied into another bottle that is to be saved. Shampoos and other liquid like perfume are very expensive and users of these products want to save every last drop in a bottle. The handy screw on caps include a mating portion that allows a user to screw both caps onto the bottles to be joined together for salvaging the fluid of the more empty bottle into the bottle that is more full through either a snap fit or male and female mating threads.

  • Patent number: 5370164
Abstract: Means and apparatus for aseptically transferring material between enclosures. Apparatus for transferring the material includes a fluid receiver assembly (12) comprising an adapter (24), and a fitting (93) mounted in the adapter (24). The fitting has a plurality of needle guide channels (86) leading from the outside of the fluid receiver assembly (12) toward the interior of the enclosure (10), and seal means (26) at the ends of the channels (86). Pierceable, self-closing seal means (26) is between ends of each of the channels (86) and the interior of the enclosure. Projected extensions of the channels pass through corresponding holes (40) in the adapter, so that needles (101) inserted into the channels (86) can penetrate the seal means (26) and enter the interior of the enclosure (10). A plurality of needles (101) in a novel needle bundle (95) may be used in making the transfer.

  • Patent number: 5343900
Abstract: This invention provides apparatus and methods for aseptically transferring fluid into or out of a closed aseptic processing system. The apparatus comprises a novel fluid transfer station, including a needle bundle driver, a mounting base mounting the driver to a tank, and a fluid receiver assembly. The needle bundle driver includes a needle bundle holder which holds a needle bundle while the ends of the needles are driven into the tank through the fluid receiver assembly. The cooperation between the needle holder and the needle bundle includes a pair of clamp arms which extend outwardly from the needle bundle, and terminate in top and bottom pods. The top and bottom pods cooperate with the top surface of a support block and a bottom surface with an overhead clamping block, for locking the needle bundle into the needle holder, immobilizing the needle bundle between the clamping block and the support block.
