  • Patent number: 8360120
Abstract: A two-sided planer comprises a base, an adjusting base, and a floated pressing unit. Wherein, the floated pressing unit includes an axle shaft superimposed by several pressing rings. A spacing is defined between an inner surface of the pressing ring and the axle shaft. Plural elastic propping element are disposed within the spacing. Thereby, in the planing operation, the pressing rings adjust their positions upward or downward in accordance with a configuration of a workpiece. Whereby, the workpiece is restricted rather than warped. As a result, the workpiece does not resume warped after being planed smooth, which allows the two-sided planer to achieve a preferable planing operation.

An adjustable worktable fence extends generally longitudinally along the elongated worktable in generally transverse relationship to the rotating cutter. The adjustable worktable fence is mounted to an adjustable fence bracket that includes adjustable knobs for independent slidable movement of the adjustable worktable fence in generally transverse relationship to the rotating cutter as well as independent pivotal movement for bevel adjustment of the adjustable worktable fence relative to the rotating cutter. The jointer/planer machine also includes a table elevating mechanism for accurate elevational adjustment of the worktable relative to a supporting base.

Abstract: A guard stop is used with a power tool that includes a work surface, a tool head that projects at least partially through the work surface, a fence on a first side of the tool head and a safety guard pivotally supported on an opposite side of the tool head. The safety guard is biased to an initial position proximal the fence to cover the tool head. The guard stop includes a bracket plate fixedly secured to the power tool on the second side of the tool head. A stop member plate is mounted to the safety guard pivot and is pivotable with respect to both the bracket plate and the safety guard. The stop member plate is removably secured to the bracket by a bolt and threaded fastener. The bolt passes through an elongated slot in the bracket and can be secured at any desired positon along the slot. A portion of the stop plate is turned perpendicularly to that plate to form a stop portion which contacts the safety guard and prevents further rotation of the safety guard from the fence.

Abstract: The angle stop has a supporting table pivotally but securably mounted on a stationary table carrier. Means for maintaining the edge of the supporting table facing the working plane of the machine tool at a constant distance relative to the working plane in every angular position of the supporting table are provided. This means includes two opposing side parts rigidly attached to opposite sides of the supporting table each having two opposing through-going openings or slots(guideways) and guide elements connected with the table carrier extending through the through-going openings for securing the supporting table releasably in a particular angular position and for guiding its pivotal motion. This improves the secure contact of workpieces and reduces the risk of accident due to workpieces being drawn into the gap between the contact table and working plane of the machine tool.
