Hydraulically Driven Cutter Or Hydraulic Jet Patents (Class 144/208.3)
  • Patent number: 11230030
Abstract: The present invention relates to a phase shifting debarker. The shifting debarker generally comprises a phase shifting mechanism being powered by a main motor and being connected to an operative assembly by the mean of timing belts. The main motor is being configured to control, by the mean of a belt, the movement of the phase shifting mechanism which is being adapted to control the movement of the operative assembly by the mean of the timing belts. The operative assembly generally comprises an actuator ring and a main ring. The activation of the shifting mechanism creates a shift phase between the actuator ring and the main ring while rotating at the same speed.

  • Patent number: 10406720
Abstract: An apparatus for pre-processing logs to separate outer jacket fibers, comprising a plurality of spaced apart rollers through which a log can pass, each roller having at least one outwardly extending concentric projection, the projection being suitable to separate fibers. A pressure mechanism determines the diameter of the log so that the rollers can provide the appropriate amount of pressure to and engagement of the projections with the log. A feeding mechanism moves the log along a flow path past the rollers.

  • Patent number: 7373960
Abstract: The invention provides a brush cutter and chipper that attaches to the end of an articulating arm or boom on equipment. The cutter may utilize existing hydraulic power and controls. The cutter includes a housing with external feed assembly that feeds material through a gate to an internal cutting assembly. The feed assembly has a tensioned upper roller that may move arcuately and a stationary lower roller. The rollers preferably rotate oppositely and each has peripheral cleats to facilitate feeding. The housing mounts an internal rotating drum that may be rotationally linked with the rollers. The drum has a cutting surface, which may be a peripherally wound toothed chain, that cuts entering materials smaller pieces. The drum rotates against the bottom side of the fed material to insure that the material is cut into small pieces. The small pieces exit through a chute at the bottom of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6435435
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a tire comminution apparatus that is of simple construction and that can be operated without excessive maintenance. According to the present invention, a vehicle tire of any size or composition can be comminuted with essentially the same comminution apparatus. The comminution apparatus includes a freely moving lance with a nozzle for transforming a liquid into a high velocity liquid jet. The lance is positioned and controlled such that the liquid jet impacts the tire thereby separating it into its component parts. The comminution apparatus may be computer controlled.

  • Patent number: 6173748
Abstract: A method of reducing noise in a barking plant; a barking drum, a chipper and a conveyor between these. The penetration of noise through conveying openings of a partly or wholly covered conveyor (3) for receiving logs from a barking drum (1), and/or a partly or wholly covered conveyor (8′) for feeding logs to a chipper (11), is reduced, and the noise level is decreased by means of the water (21) used for washing the logs. The water forms a continuous curtain (18, 19) at the front and/or back end of the conveyor (3, 8, 8′) between the drum (1) and the chipper (11).
