  • Patent number: 10040133
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an axle device and a boring tool. The axle device includes a main shaft, an expanding unit, a drill, and an engaging unit. The main shaft is magnetic. The expanding unit includes a cone blocking member and an expanding member. The cone blocking member has an inclined plane. The expanding member is limited at the main shaft and includes a plurality of pawls, wherein the pawls are against the inclined plane. The engaging unit includes a rotating member and an engaging element. The rotating member is screwed on the main shaft. The engaging element engages the drill with the rotating member. When the rotating member rotates and moves toward a first direction, the engaging element correspondingly brings the drill and the cone blocking member toward the first direction, such that the inclined plane of the cone blocking member expands the pawls outwardly.

  • Patent number: 9887468
Abstract: A friction-welded ground assembly that includes an alloy substrate with a clearance hole; an aluminum alloy weld nut having a bolt bore and an outer wall; and a grounding bolt. The bore is located substantially within the clearance hole and a portion of the outer wall is joined to the substrate at a friction-welded attachment. Further, the bolt is threaded within the bore. In addition, a method for making a ground includes the steps: rotating an aluminum alloy weld nut having an outer wall at a predetermined speed; lowering the outer wall of the rotating nut into contact with an aluminum alloy substrate to generate a frictional force for a friction time; arresting the rotation of the nut; and applying an axial forging force to the outer wall and the substrate for a forging time.

  • Patent number: 5681134
Abstract: A device for cutting truncated dowels from a board, with a device including a one-piece cutting body shaped as a hollow cylinder and having a concentric clamping shank. The cutting body is provided with only one recess which forms a knife edge, with the recess opening toward a front of a cutting body and merging into a wider dowel ejection opening. The cutting body has an inside annular cutting edge which determines the larger outside diameter of the truncated dowel to be cut and from which the knife edge originates. The inside circumferential surface of the jacket tapers conically toward the clamping shank, and the knife edge is inclined obliquely inwardly in accordance with the conicity of the inside circumferential surface.

  • Patent number: 4741651
Abstract: An improved hole saw is disclosed. A mandrel of the hole saw forms an elongated threaded body. The mandrel, at a first end forms a shank adapted to be secured in the chuck of a hand power drill or drill press. The second end of the mandrel forms an enlarged, radially extended, circular flange having a recessed axially aligned hole formed therein. The shank end of, for example, a quarter inch pilot-hole drill is secured in the flanged end of the mandrel by one or more set screws. The mandrel is inserted, shank end first, into the open serrated cutting end of a cylindrically shaped hole saw. The threaded shank end of the mandrel is screwed into a threaded base of the hole saw, the radially extended flange of the mandrel being mated to and tightened against the inside base end of the hole saw.

  • Patent number: 3976387
Abstract: A quick-locking arbor, pilot drill, and hole saw assembly having particular utility with relatively small diameter hole saws in which one end of the pilot drill is received within a bore in the arbor, with a spring or other tension means surrounding the shank of the drill. The inserted end of the drill carries a washer and drill drive or sleeve, and the spring is trapped between the washer and a bushing which is held in the arbor body. A collar is carried on the pilot drill intermediate its ends and has camming surfaces integral therewith. The hole saw, being an elongate, hollow, cylindrical cutting member, has internal cam means which cooperate with the cam surfaces of the collar on the pilot drill so that upon relative rotation therebetween, the pilot drill is urged away from the arbor against the face of the spring or tension means, which is compressed between the washer and the end of the bushing, whereby the saw is locked between the end of the arbor and the collar.

  • Patent number: 3973862
Abstract: An improved means for locating the pilot drill of a hole saw assembly is disclosed. The assembly generally includes an arbor, which has a body and a spindle projecting from one end thereof, and a cup-shaped hole saw, with the arbor and the hole saw carrying cooperating cam and spring-loaded locking and driving means to draw one planar face of the arbor into secure flush engagement with the planar face of the base of the cup-shaped cutting member or hole saw itself. The forward face of the arbor has a recess therein, and one end of the pilot drill has a locating sleeve dimensioned so as to fit into the recess in the face of the arbor so that when the locking and driving means are utilized to draw the face of the arbor into flush contact with the face of the hole saw, the sleeve is trapped between the two faces, and the pilot drill is firmly located.
