Abstract: An electron block frame pouring fixture, and a method of using the fixture, the fixture including a base member having a recessed portion surrounded on each side, the recessed portion configured to receive an electron block frame therein, and a plurality of clamp members connected to the base member proximate each of the respective sides of the recessed portion, the clamp members being configured to be selectively actuated to press a received electron block frame downward into the recessed portion, wherein the recessed portion is configured to prevent lateral movement of the received electron block frame.
Abstract: The method of bending wood materials inserts cylindrical or board shaped wood material of uniform lateral cross-section into a bending template shaping channel via a driving mechanism to bend the wood material in the shaping channel. Further, the bending method of this invention applies pressure to the front end of the wood material via a braking mechanism to limit its movement in the shaping channel and prevent tension fracture on the stretched side of the curved wood material. Wood material, which is pushed from its aft end and movement limited at its front end, is compressed to control the amount of stretching of the extended outer periphery of the wood material undergoing bending and prevent tension fracture.
Abstract: A jig having particularly advantageous application in the construction of custom spiral staircases. The jig for bending a wooden board comprises: a trunk; and, multiple arms each arm having an inner end portion releasably attached to the trunk and an outer arm portion adapted to removably attach the wooden board thereto. When the wooden board is attached to the outer end portions of the arms the wooden board will have bent to conform to a curve defined by the end portions of the arms as it extends up, and around the trunk. Most preferably the trunk and arms comprise cylindrical tubes. The arm portions which attach to the trunk comprise split cylinders which may be lockably squeezed over the trunk with a bolt. Each arm comprises an inner cylindrical tube which closely and lockingly slides within an outer cylindrical tube so that the outer end portion of the arm may be locked at a selected radius from the trunk so that the jig may be used to bend boards at varying radiuses.
Abstract: A novel arcuate wooden cummerbund with or without associated accessories. Two methods for making the wooden cummerbund are disclosed. When accessories are included, they may comprise coordinating wooden ties, matching cuff links. A storing and carrying case is disclosed for the wooden cummerbund and accessories, if any.
Abstract: This snow ski, the sides of which have an inclination which is variable in relation to the plane of the sole of the ski, at different points along its length, and are constituted by curved convex or concave lines, in which the profiles of the sides are of variable curvature according to the cross-section in question of the ski.A procedure for manufacturing this ski consists, starting from a rough ski, in carrying out the machining of the lateral parts of the ski with the aid of a rotary tool with an axis perpendicular to the plane of the upper surface of the ski, the active surface of which is generated by a continuous monotonic curve, by carrying out a relative movement of the tool and of the ski simultaneously, in the direction of the length of the ski, in the direction of the width of the ski and in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the upper surface of the ski.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for shaping flat rectangular shingle blanks into curved shingles includes a heating chamber and shingle shaping device. The shingle shaping device is comprised of an elongate upwardly convex fixed shaping member and a plurality of hingedly mounted, downwardly concave movable shaping members. A plurality of shingle blanks are first steamed and then place on edge in side-by-side relation between the fixed shaping member and the movable shaping members. The movable shaping members are then moved into closed clamping relation with the fixed shaping member to clamp the shingle blanks into curved configuration for use with roofs having a thatched cottage appearance.
Abstract: A curved wood bending machine for bending solid, veneered or laminated wooden members has a support frame with a generally planar top member on which a plurality of guide rails are connected in predetermined circumferential relationship and radial planes from a common counterpoint on the top member so that clamping assemblies slidably mounted on the guide rails can be moved by suitable associated actuating means on the guide rails to predetermined positions relative each other. The clamping assemblies have a fixed vertical shoe and a coacting movable shoe which is activated by a suitable fluid pressure device such as a pneumatically operated cylinder and plunger arrangement so that a desired curvature can be established to fit and bend an elongated wooden member therein.

Abstract: A machine for precision cutting and finishing of curved wooden members, includes a generally vertically disposed column; a support assembly including a plurality of spaced, relatively narrow support guides; a radially adjustable clamping assembly on each of at least two support guides, each clamping assembly having two locking jaws, at least one locking jaw being fluidly operated to move relative to the other locking jaw and for holding and fixing the curved wooden member; an elongated beam rotatably connected at one end to the upper end of the column and cantilevered to extend radially outward therefrom for movement in a circumferential arc over the upper support members, a tool support having one end slidably connected to the elongated cantilevered beam and movable to and fro along the radially extending axis of the beam; a tool holder adjustably connected on the tool support for generally vertical and rotational movement, the tool holder including a T-connector having opposite tool connecting ends and two
