Abstract: An apparatus for clearing brush for a four-wheel all terrain vehicle path, the apparatus to be attached to the front of and propelled by a four-wheel all terrain vehicle commonly referred to as a four-wheeler the apparatus comprising a set of blades on a V shaped self-supporting, wheel-mounted chassis.
Abstract: The wood gathering and compaction vehicle comprises a vehicle frame movable over ground, a storage bin removably installed on the vehicle frame, with the storage bin having an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The vehicle further comprises a releasable bin attachment device for releasably attaching the storage bin to the vehicle frame, and a compactor fixedly installed on the vehicle frame, the compactor having an inner chamber, an opened inlet port for allowing wood to be inserted into the compactor inner chamber, an outlet port communicating with the storage bin inlet opening when the storage bin is installed on the vehicle frame, and a compaction device for allowing wood located in the compactor inner chamber to be forcibly moved from the compactor inner chamber into the storage bin through the compactor outlet port and the storage bin inlet opening.
Abstract: A guide bar for a chain saw of a tree harvester adapted for applying treatment material to the stump upon severing a tree. The guide bar, typically a laminated bar includes an inner channel in the inner laminate that connects to a series of dispersal holes in the outer laminates and along the bar length. Multiple inlet holes also in the outer laminate or laminates are provided in a rear region of the bar for directing material flow into the channel. Only one of the inlet holes is in use and the other inlet holes are plugged. The invention provides for plugging unused inlet holes with a member (plug) that slides into position over the unused inlet holes at the inner side of the outer laminate. Numerous variations are proposed including both automatic, where treatment material flow generates an inner pressure that urges a member against the inner side of the unused hole and manual, where a blocking tab is manually slid into place at the inner side of the hole.
Abstract: A tree saw attachment (10) for use with a loader vehicle includes a base frame (11), a generally V-shaped blade assembly (12), a brush guard (13), and a tweezer arm assembly (14). A swingable tweezer arm (29) of the tweezer arm assembly is movable using a hydraulic cylinder (33) to grasp objects against an upper surface of the base frame or the blade assembly. The brush guard and tweezer arm assembly are removable from the base frame as a single unit to facilitate shipping and assembly. A sprayer assembly (90) is positioned within the base frame for applying a herbicide to tree stumps cut by the V-shaped blade assembly. The blade assembly can be a single integral blade (42), or can be formed of right and left blades (70, 71) with intermeshing projections (73, 74) secured to a rib member (36) along a centerline of the blade assembly.
