Abstract: An electric knife including a knife body, forming a handle housing an electric motor, and a blade holder, received in the handle, carrying a blade and maneuvered by the motor via a device for transforming rotary movement of the motor into alternating movement of the blade holder. The knife body includes a fixed shaft perpendicular to the blade on which the blade holder is mounted and which is positioned so that the blade holder is moved in rotation and to-and-fro relative to the fixed shaft by the motor to impart an oscillatory movement to the blade.

Abstract: A reciprocating saw serving as reciprocating tool is equipped with a motor, a drive transmission mechanism that converts rotation of the motor into reciprocating motion, a rod that is connected to the drive transmission mechanism and that engages in reciprocating motion, and an upper roller and a lower roller that are capable of rolling and that have depressed portions that are capable of coming in contact with the rod, wherein the cross-section of the rod has no corners, and the depressed portions of the upper roller and the lower roller have hourglass-like profiles.

Abstract: The invention relates to a multifunctional unit for machining workpieces preferably consisting at least partially of wood, wood materials, plastics or the like, with a plurality of vertical drill spindles, a plurality of horizontal drill spindles, and at least one fixed saw comprising at least one saw blade with a horizontal axis of rotation. The multifunctional unit according to the invention is characterised in that it is mounted and driven by a mounting means in such a way that it may be rotated about at least one vertical axis of rotation.

Abstract: A portable toolbox has a compartment closed by a lid, the lid being configured to mount a powered saw module to an inner face thereof such that the saw blade extends from an outer side of the lid which provides a flat sawbench. The toolbox is used with powered hand tools of the type having a power handle module incorporating rechargeable batteries and control switch for engaging a variety of multi-purpose tools having respective electric motors. A battery station receives the power handle module and an associated circuit controls and supplies power to the saw. An adaptor fixture may be employed in one configuration to provide a drill press and in another to provide a saw fence. The adaptor fixture includes a sliding carriage for mounting a powered hand drill and jaws for clamping engagement with the toolbox when used as a fence.

Abstract: A portable pocket cutter employs a shaping assembly and a boring assembly, connected via a frame and coupling assembly, for constructing a pocket joint in a workpiece. The frame is at least partially supported upon a workpiece. The shaping assembly is pivotally connected with the frame and further connects with a first bit for shaping a recess in a planar surface of the workpiece. The boring assembly is also connected with the frame and further connects with a second bit for boring a through aperture into an edge of the workpiece, the edge being generally perpendicular to the planar surface.

Abstract: The present invention consists of a lathe attachment for installation on a portable bandsaw mill, for turning round shafts from wood blocks on the portable bandsaw mill. The lathe attachment has an elongated chassis, a tailstock and a headstock mounted on opposite ends of the chassis for holding and rotating a wood block along the chassis. Bindings are provided to retain the chassis to the cross beams of the portable bandsaw mill. In another aspect of the invention, a number of symmetrical facets are firstly sawed along the wood block prior to turning the wood block. The turning of a round shaft on the bandsaw mill is preferably effected while the alignment of the wood block or shaft makes an acute angle with the direction of movement of the bandsaw head.
