  • Patent number: 8202473
Abstract: A thermal energy method (TEM) machine for deburring and deflashing work pieces, the TEM machine having an explosion load bearing frame. The frame comprises spaced apart coparallel first and second frame walls and a lateral structural member spacing apart the first and second frame walls. The top portion of the TEM combustion chamber is supported by the lateral structural member. The first and second frame walls are adapted to support a vertical displacement means. The first and second frame walls, the lateral structural member, and the vertical displacement means cooperate to contain vertically-directed explosion forces exerted upon the combustion chamber during the operation of the combustion chamber. Methods for deburring and/or deflashing using such TEM machines are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6334906
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus for oxygen cutting continuously cast billets, in which a cutting member (8) and a trimming member (9) are positioned relative to the billet to be cut (1) by taking a reference directly on the billet (1) by means of a moving clamp (7), after which the cutting member (8) and the trimming member (9) are lowered parallel to the side faces of the billet so as to cut the billet progressively downwards by attacking one of its side faces horizontally, while simultaneously trimming the cutting bead that forms on the other side face by attacking said other side face continuously in a downward direction.

  • Patent number: 5683821
Abstract: The workpiece is obtained by cutting a metal product by oxygen cutting. An oxygen cutting jet is sent onto a preheated cutting zone of the product. A peripheral sleeve of additional gas is formed around the oxygen cutting jet so as to send, into the cutting zone, a coaxial double jet constituted by the oxygen jet surrounded by the sleeve of gas at a pressure of less than 1 bar. The flow rate and the pressure of the cutting oxygen and of the additional gas are regulated separately. The invention also relates to an oxygen-cutting device for implementing the method and to the metal part obtained.
