Abstract: Disclosed is a cleaning implement with a removable cleaning element comprising a base member having a first end with an annular toothed edge and at least one resilient retention member positioned intermediate the toothed edge and a second end of the base member, each resilient retention member having a stop surface facing the second end. An annular locking member is movably mounted on the base member, the locking member having an inner wall surface and at least one ledge projecting from the inner wall surface and adapted to abut the retention member stop surface. The inner wall surface of the locking member further includes a threaded portion intermediate an end of the locking member and the ledge. Also included is a cleaning element mounting member having an annular toothed edge for complementary engagement with the toothed edge of the base member and an outer wall surface with a threaded portion for threaded engagement with the threaded portion of the locking member.

Abstract: The present invention consists of a new and improved painting system having a bristle head with an aperture, a slender mounting rod adopted to removably secure the bristle head to the mounting rod and a handle or gripping portion which communicates with the slender mounting rod. It is anticipated that the securing means for securing the bristle head to the slender mounting rod may consist of: a simple tapered end and friction fit into an aperture in the bristle head, or, it may consist of a biased spring element on the slender mounting rod which will be retained in an annular groove in an aperture in the back or rear portion of the bristle head with a push-click type of securement, or, it may even consist of a simple friction fit between a tapered end of the mounting rod which is merely snugly pushed into a corresponding tight fitting aperture located in the back or rear of the handle or gripping portion. The slender mounting rod may be just a few inches long or it may even be a foot or more long.

One end of the brush handle is inserted into the hollow handle and is configured to substantially seal the open end of the head and trap air inside, the trapped air providing an air cushion effect. The air cushion effect and the soft head allow use of the device for effective and thorough cleaning, massage and stimulation of the gums and teeth notwithstanding the user's tooth or gum sensitivity.

Abstract: A paint brush having a removable bristle pack which snaps on and off a handle portion by means of a resilient prong mounted pin. The present invention employs a slot in the ferrule of the bristle pack to receive with a friction fit the pin extending resiliently from the handle. In assembly the handle is merely inserted into the ferrule until the pin snaps into place, and the bristle pack can be removed for cleaning or changing by depressing the pin which will thereby cause the bristle pack to be disengaged.

A latching arrangement is provided between the brush and the handle such that when the toothbrush is operated incorrectly in the direction along its longitudinal axis, the toothbrush would either slide freely in and out or completely detach from the handle rendering it inoperable. When brushing with the correct motion in the up and down direction perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, the latching arrangement would maintain the brush member securely mounted to the handle.

Abstract: The present invention is that of a newly designed toothbrush that has a replaceable head. The head of the toothbrush and the base of the toothbrush would have complimentary dove tail shapes ensuring that the pieces would fit together snugly. In addition, the present invention would have a mechanism for securing the two components together. The mechanism would either allow the brush head to be secured to the handle with a locking pin that slips through the head and into a hole in the base of the toothbrush, or alternatively, a locking tab that snaps into the hole in the brush handle.

During the inserting, end portions of each one of a pair of resilient arms in the handle connector become reversibly engaged and interlocked with a different window provided in the tool connector. Manual depression of the handle connector's exposed arm end portions in the windows releases the arms from engagement with the tool connector windows, and permits slidable separation of the handle connector from the tool connector.

This cleaning device with replaceable head can reduce the manufacturing cost and storing space.

Abstract: A brush with a handle that includes a pivotally mounted female engagement member at one end of the handle. This end of the handle includes a fork termination with two separated elongated members that have each a flat opposing surface with radially disposed recesses therein. An elongated termination of the female engagement member cooperatively and snugly fits between the surfaces. The elongated termination includes cooperating ribs that permit a user to keep the female engagement member at a predetermined angle with respect to the handle. And the female engagement member is removably coupled to a mating male engagement member that includes a bristle gripping assembly. A user can then paint with the brush without causing the pivoting female engagement member to move by the strokes up to a predetermined magnitude.

In addition, drainage grooves may be disposed in the handle to drain water from the protrusions.

The brush head is releaseably securable to the upper end of the baby bottle. The brush head is comprised of a generally conical central body having a lower generally cylindrical base and an upper reduced diameter neck portion ending in a generally rounded tip. The rounded tip has a plurality of protrusions positioned thereon. The cylindrical base of the brush head is releaseably securable to the baby bottle.

Abstract: An orthodontic toothbrush cleans braces and teeth effectively, including braces which have brackets protruding from tooth surfaces, wherein the brackets are connected by a spanning archwire. The orthodontic toothbrush has a longitudinally extending handle attached to a teeth cleaning head with bristles extending upward therefrom. The bristle head includes rows of bristles, which contact and clean both the orthodontic appliances attached to the surfaces of the teeth and underlying teeth at the same time because of the several different bristle heights. The shortest group of bristles is in the middle of all the bristle rows. The height of these shortest bristles represent an average protrusive depth of the thickness of a typical bracket or band protruding from a tooth's surface.

Abstract: A hand-held device for removing lint balls from a fabric that includes a body, and a pad. The body is fork-shaped and includes a handle, and bifurcations that extend longitudinally from the handle. The bifurcations have grooves that extend longitudinally therein, and the handle has a groove that extends transversely thereacross and communicates with the grooves in the bifurcations so as to form a generally U-shaped channel. The body further includes a plate that extends from one bifurcation to the other bifurcation and provides rigidity for the pad. The pad is a layer of flexible material that is snugly, slidably, and selectively disposed in the generally U-shaped channel. The exterior surface of the layer of flexible material is covered with prongs that function similarly to hooks of a hook and loop fastener for engaging and removing the lint balls from the fabric when brushed thereacross.

The scrubber portion is slidably couplable to the scrubber portion. The scrubber portion includes a slot having angled sides and a nipple for engaging the handle assembly. In an embodiment, a protrusion is positioned on the handle assembly to engage the nipple on the scrubber portion. The handle assembly provides a grip at a distal end of an elongated handle. In an embodiment, the elongated handle is separable into two sections threadingly engageable to each other. Alternately, the handle assembly provides an angled shortened handle having an offset grip for scrubbing surfaces at an elevated level within reach of an upright user.

Further, the handle and brush head have cooperating wedge formations to insure positive centering of the brush head along the axis of the handle. Abstract: A hairbrush having a head that may be quickly removed from the brush handle and a hairbrush system utilizing the same. In its most basic form, the hairbrush includes a brush head having a plurality of bristles, a removable brush handle, and a quick disconnect mechanism for removably attaching the brush handle to the brush head such that the brush handle may be quickly removed from the brush head. In the preferred embodiment, the quick disconnect mechanism includes a rod extending from the brush handle with a spring loaded ball partially extending from the rod, and an opening disposed within the brush head for accepting the rod and retaining the ball. The preferred ball presses against a sleeve disposed within the opening in the brush head. In some embodiments, however, the sleeve is eliminated and the opening includes a keyway and retainer mates with the ball and holds the ball in place.
