Abstract: A brush having bristles of varying heights in predetermined configurations is disclosed for extirpating ingrown facial hair from false follicles prior to shaving. The brush includes bristles of specified shapes, and incorporates a support for a razor. By properly preparing ingrown hairs for shaving a condition known as pseudofolliculitis barbae is more easily managed, thus alleviating physical and social discomfort.
Abstract: A brush back having bristles on one face and being bendable to swing the bristles into oppositely extending relation for brushing engagement with an internal or concave surface.
Abstract: A flexible matting for use at an entrance porch, corridor, veranda, pool-side, interior floor of automobiles, etc. This matting consists of a base on which tread bars and rows of ridges bearing piles are arranged in a definite direction with appropriate spacings between them so that the mud adhered to shoes can be removed by the piles and collected in the grooves formed between the ridges. Thus, the removal of mud from the present matting is very easy as compared with a conventional one.
Abstract: A hairbrush has a shank and a plurality of annular members or rings detachably disposed on the shank. Each annular member has a plurality of unitary, semi-rigid bristles extending radially from the whole circumference of the member. Means are provided for securing the annular members against rotation. These means permit the mounting of the members in forward or reverse manner. The bristles on an annular member mounted in a forward manner are angularly displaced with respect to bristles on an annular member mounted in a reverse manner. The bristles of annular elements mounted in like manner (all forward or all reverse) align to form a number of rows of bristles. When annular elements are mounted in alternating unlike manner, the bristles align to form twice the number of rows of bristles as when the elements are mounted in like manner.
Abstract: A rotary scraper with fingers striking the work surface at a lagging angle, thus removing material by impact rather than by a scraping action. By way of an example, a wire brush with pivoted fingers that are restrained and unable to fully centrifugally extend radially.
Abstract: A surface sweeping broom in which the handle is attached to an elongated brush head of circular cross-section. The brush head contains a cylindrical inner core overlaid with a molded thermoplastic brushing surface. The molded brushing surface is comprised of a base or matrix and fingerlike projections which are integrally fused with the matrix and extend vertically from it. In one embodiment, the brush head is provided with a centered bore which extends completely through it. The bore is threaded to secure a handle member which can be inserted at either end of the bore. Thus, when a brushing surface becomes worn, the handle can be reversed. In this manner, all four quadrants of the circular brushing surface can be effectively utilized.
