Abstract: An embodiment provides a handheld implement, including: an elongated handle comprising a first end and a second end substantially opposite the first end; an implement head located at and mechanically attached to one of: the first end and the second end; and a light source mechanically coupled to and along a longitudinal axis of the elongated handle, wherein the light source is positioned at a location on the elongated handle such that a least a portion of light that emits from the light source illuminates an area proximate to the implement head. Other aspects are claimed and described.

Abstract: A feces collection assembly includes a handle. The handle is elongated thereby facilitating the handle to extend to ground when the handle is gripped. A grip is attached to the handle for enhancing gripping the handle and a ring is movably positioned on the grip. The ring is urgeable between an opening position and a closing position. A pair of jaws is each movably positioned on the handle to manipulate feces on the ground. Each of the jaws is operationally coupled to the ring, and the pair of jaws opens and closes when the ring is urged between the opening and closing positions. Thus, the jaws can be positioned around the feces and subsequently close beneath the feces. A plurality of bags is provided and a selected one of the bags is wrapped around the jaws to capture the feces when the jaws are closed around the feces.

Abstract: A pet waste collection and disposal device comprising: a frame having an outer frame edge; a scoop; wherein the scoop is surrounded by the frame and is associated with the frame via perforations adapted to allow a detachment of the scoop from the frame creating a frame opening; and a bag having an interior surface associated with the outer frame edge; wherein the bag is in a compressed state when the device is in a folded state, and is adapted to be in an expanded state and receive the pet waste when the device is in an unfolded state; wherein the frame opening accesses the interior space, such that the bag is receives the pet waste and the scoop through the frame opening; and wherein the bag is completely encloses the frame, the pet waste, and the scoop when the bag is in the expanded state and a sealed state.

Abstract: The dustpan cover is a cleaning device. The dustpan cover is configured for use in collecting debris from a horizontal surface. The dustpan cover comprises a dustpan, a lid, and a fastener. The fastener attaches the lid to the dustpan. The lid is a barrier that controls access to the dustpan. The dustpan is a traditional cleaning tool used to collect debris from a horizontal surface such as a floor. The lid rotates relative to the dustpan such that the dustpan opens and closes for the collection and disposal of debris.

Abstract: A waste storage device is provided comprising a waste storage compartment for storing waste and a lid. The device further comprises a dispenser for dispensing an agent inside the waste storage device and an actuator arranged to activate the dispenser. A waste cartridge is also provided comprising a relatively rigid upper portion and a relatively flexible lower portion. The relatively flexible lower portion is arranged for storing waste items and the relatively rigid upper portion is arranged to be folded about an axis in a direction substantially towards the relatively flexible lower portion of the waste cartridge.

Abstract: A pet waste collector and disposal device includes a pole connected to a container housing, supporting a disposable container that may be positioned beneath a dog to capture the waste in the container before the waste reaches the ground. The disposable container may then be closed and disposed of in the conventional manner.

Abstract: A sifting pick-up device is provided that operates as a combined pick-up tool and sifter. The device comprises an elongated frame, a first jaw member, and a second jaw member. The elongated frame includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a slidable handle therealong. The two jaw members are disposed along the distal end and move relative to one another based on movement of the slidable handle. At least one of the jaw members has a sifting screen jaw surface in which contents secured between the jaws can be separated from granular material. One or both of the jaw members are movable, and in one embodiment the slidable handle is spring biased and is connected to at least one jaw member via one or more cables. The handle controls the position of the jaws, which can be used to pick-up items and sift the same.

A trigger activates an actuating arm, which in turn causes the movement of an actuating pin that is connected to an external arm which opens the compartment door. The movement of the actuating pin may be lateral or rotational, providing different movement to the external arm.

Abstract: Provided herein are devices which facilitate collection of debris from various locations, such as roads, driveways, and fields. An article provided in accordance with some embodiments includes a receiver with an opening suitable for admitting debris, and also having panels connected thereto which assist in directing debris into the opening of the receiver. An adapter body having a proximal end attached to the receiver permits debris to pass through the adapter body to the distal end of the adapter body, and the distal end is fitted with a collection receptacle, which receptacle comprises a sack, bag or the like that contains perforations or holes sufficiently dimensioned to enable air to pass through the wall of the sack, bag, or the like, while retaining debris within the interior volume of the sack, bag, or the like.

Abstract: Multifunctional packaging containers and methods of use are disclosed. An exemplary container typically comprises a body section having a generally flat rectangular shape when in a flattened configuration. The container transforms into a generally elongated cylindrical shape when in the closed configuration. The exemplary container also comprises a first and second side wall. A handle assembly may also be included. Additionally, the container typically includes one or more securing mechanisms adapted to lock the contents therein. Methods of using the container include using it as a disposable pet waste scooper or general storage compartment.

The device may include a motor and/or a spring or springs to drive the arms towards or away from each other. A plate, a pole and/or a handle may be coupled with the arms. The plate may be positioned relative to the arms to stabilize the waste or toxic material for insertion into the bag. The bag may include an adhesive, paper, plastic, recycled plastic and/or cellulose.

Abstract: A pick up device comprises a container defining an interior space, the container having a front wall movable between an open position and a closed position and a rear wall movable between an open position and a closed position. A reciprocating arm is associated with the container and attached to the front wall for moving the front wall between the open position and the closed position. An activator is provided for activating movement of the front wall from the open position to the closed position. Further, a connector means is formed between the rear wall and the container allowing the rear wall to move between the open position and the closed position, the connector means permitting movement from the closed to the open position when the container is oriented at a suitable angle.

The outer tube is movable with respect to the inner tube between a lower closed position and an upper dumping position via an intermediate open position. A mount defining a refuse passage for the entry of a refuse is mounted to a lower end of the inner tube. A cover is rotatably connected to the mount by a pivot pin whereby the cover is movable with respect to the mount for selectively closing the refuse passage. A connection link couples the cover to the outer tube whereby the cover is rotated with respect to the mount when the outer tube is moved with respect to the inner tube between the upper, dumping position and the lower, closed position.

Abstract: A refuse collection device includes a tubular portion to which a bag mount is attached. The bag mount defines a passage. A cover is movably mounted to the bag mount for openably closing the passage. A flexible bag, such as a plastic bag, has a front opening fit over and releasably secured to the bag mount for receiving refuses through the passage. The bag is comprised of first and second sheets, each having a front edge folded over sections of the bag mount. The front edge of the first sheet forms a cut line dividing the front edge into two opposite free flaps for facilitating mounting the bag to the bag mount. A flap retainer is mounted to the tubular portion and is biased by a torsional spring to securely fix the flaps to the bag mount thereby preventing the flaps from arbitrarily moving within the passage and thus enhancing collection of refuses into the bag.

Abstract: The present invention provides a structure of a dustpan. The above-mentioned dustpan is with a liftable cover. According to this invention, excluding the practical convenience to users, the garbage, such as hair, dust and unsightly filth, can be efficiently sealed in the dustpan of this invention. Moreover, the present invention can provide a simple and fast mechanism for opening and closing the liftable cover by an operation at the handle of the dustpan. Therefore, this invention can provide a hygienic and convenient dustpan.

The upper portion has a generally shell-like configuration, and includes a pair of vertically depending side walls which are slidable disposed between the vertically extending side walls of the lower tray. The upper portion has an arcuate front portion which has a front edge adapted to scrape a horizontal surface and a downwardly sloping rear portion adapted for flush alignment with the bottom wall of the lower tray.

A flexible elongated member is provided, one end of the elongated member being fixedly attached to the container, and the other end of the elongated member being a free end. The elongated member is configured to form a loop outside of the compartment. The loop is movable between a first position, for generally surrounding the material, and a second position, wherein the loop is substantially inside of the compartment. Upon the loop being in the first position and positioned for encircling the material, the free end of the elongated member is pulled such that the loop and the material it surrounds is pulled into the compartment to the loop's second position. The back wall is formed with a flat top portion and had an increasing taper from an initial width at the rear wall midsection to a maximum width at the top leading edge of the rear wall upper section. The top leading edge is further beveled to facilitate placement of debris in the receptacle when the rear wall is placed on the ground. The receptacle includes a removable lid that has a base, and a pair of opposing lid side walls and rear end portion that extend from the base to establish a scoop configuration for the lid. A lip extends around the receptacle side walls and front wall of the receptacle, and the lid abuts an internal shoulder in the lip when the lid is placed on the receptacle.
