  • Patent number: 6818032
Abstract: A dirt collecting system for a vacuum cleaner includes a dirt cup formed with a first dirt collecting chamber and a second dirt collecting chamber separated by an apertured wall. An inlet opening is formed in the dirt cup and communicates with the first dirt collecting chamber for inputting a stream of dirt laden air into the first dirt collecting chamber. An exhaust opening is formed in the second dirt collecting chamber for allowing the filtered air stream to exit the dirt cup. The aperture wall includes a pre-filter for filtering coarse particles from a stream of dirt laden and depositing the coarse particles in the first dirt collecting chamber. A filter member is positioned within the second dirt collecting chamber and communicates with the exhaust port. The filter element filters fine particles from the air stream and deposits the fine particles within the second dirt collecting chamber.

  • Patent number: 6818036
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner comprises a cylconic separation unit with a dirty air inlet and a cleaned air outlet at a first end and a dirt collection portion at a second end. The separation unit is supported on the cleaner such that the inlet is located in a lower portion of the first end and such that, in normal use, the longitudinal axis of the chamber lies in, or can be brought to lie in, a substantially horizontal position. A shield member is provided at the inlet for shielding the inlet from the dirt collection portion of the chamber. This helps to prevent dirt from becoming re-entrained in the airflow and the inlet and dirt from falling from the inlet when a user removes the separation unit. The shield also helps to straighten incoming airflow through the inlet. The shield can be formed integrally with a shroud or other insert that fits inside the separation unit.

  • Publication number: 20040098826
Abstract: A dust collecting filter for an vacuum cleaner capable of being reused after being emptied and washed The dust collecting filter comprises a filter casing having a backside surface and a side surface vertically extended from an edge of the backside surface to thereby define a predetermined space therein, the backside surface having an air discharging hole formed therein to fluid-communicate with the air outlet, a cover having an air inflow hole fluid-communicating with the air inlet and separably connected with the filter casing, and a dust filtering means mounted in the filter casing, for filtering dust from the air that is drawn in through the air inflow hole and discharged through the air discharging hole. Accordingly, since the dust collecting filter can be reused after being emptied and washed, it is not required to replace the dust collecting filter. Also, since the filter is designed to prevent the propagation of the bacteria, it can keep the cleanliness of the environment.

  • Patent number: 6618898
Abstract: An animal waste vacuum having a main body mounted upon wheels and a handle to maneuver vacuum's nozzle opening and intake tube over animal excrement. A vacuum motor creates suction and draws animal excrement through a nozzle opening and up an intake tube into a waste bag. A waste bag, in which the animal excrement is collected, prevents animal waste from contacting any component of the vacuum. A plastic tubing dispenser ring fits over the intake tube and contains thin plastic tubing that acts as a liner in the intake tube during use. The liner prevents animal excrement from contacting the interior of the intake tube during use. Alternative liners, such as common plastic grocery bags, may also be used. The waste bag and intake tube are accessible through a removable lid. The intake tube is removable and easy to clean. The animal waste vacuum is used from a standing position.

  • Patent number: 6336244
Abstract: In an electric blower, exhaust air discharged radially from a centrifugal fan is redirected to a motor drive section by a diffuser and a fan cover. The air passes from a ventilation opening on a motor frame and through a bracket to cool the motor drive section. A portion of the air from the centrifugal fan is bled off through exhaust openings without passing over the motor, whereby this portion remains cooler and cleaner than the air that passes over the motor. Air flows up a wand and then passes over the motor to cool the motor. This air passes through filters before being discharged. The portion of air that is bled off passes along a parallel path in the wand to agitate dirt, and to maintain the wand relatively cool. In one embodiment, some of the bled-off portion is discharged directly without passing along the wand.
