Abstract: A mechanized broom-type sweeper truck that includes a pavement engaging brush or broom and an elevator for transported debris to the inlet or entry opening of a debris container includes a slinging roller in the debris container mounted at or subjacent the inlet opening. The slinging roller is journalled in bearings and driven by a motor at a selected rotary speed. Surface features are provided on the roller to engage with and contact any debris coming into contact with the roller to fling, sling, throw debris away from the inlet opening.

Abstract: A floor cleaning machine includes a driven brush for sweeping debris and dirt into a dirt container which is supported by a retracting arm actuated by a powered actuator, such as an hydraulic cylinder, between a use position in which said dirt container is sealed to a dirt discharge opening to collect all the dirt, and a raised, dumping position. Between the use position and the dumping position, the dirt container is maintained in the same disposition to avoid inadvertent spillage of its contents, by the cooperation of an articulating linkage which includes an auxiliary arm. The auxiliary arm is releaseably fixed to the machine by a latch to maintain the desired disposition of the dirt container while raising the container. When the dirt container is raised to the dumping position, and the latch is released, the dirt container pivots to dump its contents.

Abstract: A disclosed road sweeping machine (1) including a filter device (6) and comprising: movement means (2), suitable to allow movement of the road sweeping machine (1), collection means (3), suitable to allow collection of refuse and air including pollutants from the outside environment, a container (4), suitable to contain the refuse and the pollutants, means (5) for conveying the air from the container (4) to the outside environment and wherein the filter device (6) is suitable to filter the air conveyed from the conveying means (5) and comprises a filter layer (7) having a filter membrane (7a) provided with a first membrane (7b) made of polytetrafluoroethylene.

Abstract: A debris lifting apparatus for use in a surface sweeping vehicle comprises an isolated debris lifting receptacle mounted on the surface sweeping vehicle for arrested positioning in a lower debris receiving position, whereat the debris lifting receptacle is disposed to receive and retain the debris propelled forwardly by a rotating sweeping broom, and for positioning in a raised debris dumping position, whereat the debris lifting receptacle is disposed to dump the debris into a hopper. A drive mechanism mounted on the surface sweeping vehicle drives the debris lifting receptacle to effect movement of the debris lifting receptacle between the lower debris receiving position and the raised debris dumping position. A dumping mechanism mounted on the surface sweeping vehicle effects dumping of the debris from the debris lifting receptacle into the hopper when the debris lifting receptacle is in the raised debris dumping position.
