Patent number: 6035483Abstract: A cleaning system employing a highly viscous cleaning agent. A highly viscous cleaning agent is placed on a strip of cleaning fabric whereby the strip of cleaning fabric is made functional for cleaning cylinders of printing presses. The strip of cleaning fabric is wrapped around the center piece. The strip of cleaning fabric may then be brought into contact with a cylinder to be cleaned in order to clean the cylinder. The highly viscous cleaning agent may be made by mixing a viscosity adding agent with a low volatility, organic compound solvent. Additionally, water or another additive may be mixed in for improved cleaning properties. The method of making the same is also discussed.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Baldwin Graphic Systems, Inc.Inventors: C. Patent number: 5420729Abstract: Automatic head cleaning apparatus and method for checking insensitivity of a VCR video head and for performing a head cleaning operation for a predetermined period. When the insensitivity of the video head is not corrected even after the head cleaning operation for the predetermined period, the VCR tape is ejected. Simultaneously, an alarm notifying a failure of the VCR is activated. A VCR head cleaner is also provided that is in close contact with a VCR drum head due to a magnetic reluctance force during the head cleaning operation. The VCR head cleaner prevents the video head from being subjected to adverse impact and frictional force, and is easily installed requiring no additional space within the VCR. Patent number: 5363267Abstract: A cleaning tape structure is provided for removing dust from a magnetic head tip, The dust on the head tip is collected by the membranes installed on the tape surface. A laser beam is used to make vertical cuts on the tape surface in several oblique arrays of grooves. The dust is removed by the cutting edges formed by the peripheral edges of the grooves and then collected by the membranes installed at the end of each of four tape sections. The four sections also function to indicate the remaining life of the head tip, based on the number of sections which must pass the head tip before a picture prerecorded on the cleaning tape can be clearly viewed.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1992Date of Patent: November 8, 1994Inventor: C. Patent number: 4594629Abstract: A cleaning cassette for cassette recorders in which movement of either spindle of the cassette recorder operates a cleaning element within the cassette casing. Transmission of the rotary movement is achieved by a pair of rotatably mounted reel hubs and a pair of exterior toothed wheels, one integral with each hub, with the reel hubs coupled together by a third intermediate exterior toothed wheel to form a permanent gear train. For driving a cleaning element, such as a felt tab, the intermediate wheel drives a cam and lever. By rotating either toothed wheel, the intermediate wheel causes the lever to move the tab alternately back and forth substantially parallel to the front edge of the cassette casing.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1984Date of Patent: June 10, 1986Assignee: Allsop, Inc.Inventor: Stephane M. d'Alayer de Costemore d'Arc

Patent number: 4198722Abstract: A rotating brush assembly is disclosed for a vehicle washing apparatus. The brush assembly includes a brush and a flexible plastic brush shaft which permit the brush to swing or tilt in response to the force exerted on the brush by the movement of the vehicle relative to the vehicle washing apparatus. The brush motor rotates the brush in a direction which walks the brush along the surfaces of the vehicle. The combined action of the rotary reaction force of the brush against the vehicle and the flex of the flexible plastic brush shaft causes the brush to turn the front and rear corners of the vehicle to wash the front, side and rear surfaces. In addition, a brush assembly pivot mechanism is installed on the brush assembly to permit the brush to pivot in a direction parallel to the path of the vehicle in the event the vehicle is inadvertently driven into the brush while the brush is not rotating. The brush assembly pivot mechanism prevents damage to the vehicle and the brush assembly.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1978Date of Patent: April 22, 1980Assignee: N/S Car Wash Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: George T.
