  • Patent number: 8794145
Abstract: A film transfer device guides a transfer film at least partly around a transfer cylinder having a channel. As a result of entrainment of the transfer film by an edge region of the channel during indexing, considerable impairment to web tension occurs, requiring an indexing speed to be reduced so as not to cause damage to the film. In order to increase an indexing frequency, in one region, i.e. more precisely in an edge region of the channel of the transfer cylinder, a coating is provided having such a nature that it at least reduces an adhesion of a rear side of the transfer film to the edge region of the channel, i.e. to the transfer cylinder in this case. In this way, the film slides better off the edge region of the channel and a higher indexing speed can be achieved.

Abstract: A base material sheet is fed from a base material supplying unit by a feeding drive unit. A raw film made up of an adhesive film temporarily attached with a first and release liner and a second release liner is supplied from an adhesive film supplying unit and the second release liner is peeled off from the adhesive film by a peeling unit. A label printer prints on the base material sheet and attaches the adhesive film onto the base material sheet. A label sheet that includes the base material sheet, the adhesive film and the first release liner is supplied to a cutter. After a cut line corresponding to a shape of a label is provided on the base material sheet by the cutter, the base material sheet is further transferred by a guide roller and is wound up by a product winding unit.

  • Patent number: 8186407
Abstract: A labeling machine includes a device for adjusting the position of a tape holding labels, which enables moving the tape progressively on an abutment surface in order to vary the position of the print on the label. The labeling machine further presents a self-regulating arresting element of a tape bearing labels. The arresting element presses the tape against an abutment surface when a label must be applied on a destination surface and releases the tape when, on the action of a control device, the tape is actuated to advance. The machine further includes a printing member whose ink roller is associated to a device that enables it to engage easily and smoothly on a corresponding support arm. The support arm is connected to a door providing access to interior areas of the labeling machine, whose opening causes the support arm to exit and the exposes the ink roller.

Abstract: An apparatus for film transfer includes at least one printing press and at least one transfer film supply roller, a transfer film guiding device for guiding the transfer film web from the transfer film supply roller to a transfer nip. In order to ensure a variable film transfer in different printing units of the printing press, up to now the transfer film supply roller is moved with a film module into the region of the desired printing unit. In order to make a variable film transfer possible without complicated moving, the guiding device has web guiding elements at least in the region of the at least one printing press and the web guiding elements are enabled to selectively guide the transfer film web to different positions on the at least one printing press, such as to possible potential transfer nips.

  • Publication number: 20120090245
Abstract: A system to enable operators of extrusion facilities to eliminate the error of installing the incorrect weatherseal in an extrusion or profile. The operators extruding the profiles are provided a list by the fabricator of what weatherseal is to be inserted by placing indicia on the backing of the weatherseal, as by printing the die or profile number on the actual backing of the weatherseal, thereby providing improved weatherseals having unique indicia. The indicia designates the profile which will receive the die. The indicia correlates weatherseal with the profile/die number to confirm that the proper weatherseal is being used. To confirm the correct weatherseal is being used for the profile being produced, all the operator has to do is look at the back of the weatherseal.

  • Patent number: 8105455
Abstract: A printing machine contains a transfer unit for transferring a transfer layer onto a print carrier in a transfer nip. The printing machine further has at least one applicator unit for applying an adhesive to the print carrier. The applicator unit precedes the transfer unit, and the transfer layer is detached from the carrier film in the transfer unit in the regions in which adhesive is applied. By printing units being converted into transfer units or applicator units, the functionality of the printing unit for a printing operation is lost. If the applicator device and the transfer device are located in this order on an impression cylinder of a printing unit, the applied adhesive is not predried sufficiently. To overcome these disadvantages, the transfer unit is a further processing unit and has at least one further processing device which follows the transfer nip and which acts on the print carrier.

  • Patent number: 8100160
Abstract: A film transfer apparatus includes an application unit, a transfer unit downstream of the application unit, and at least one third unit for further processing a printing material with a transfer layer applied. In the prior art, if contact pressure is exerted on coated printing material again in a following nip, the adhesive layer under the transfer layer can be pressed out. A blanket can then be contaminated with adhesive, ink itself can be contaminated and parts of the transfer layer can be detached from the coated sheet. In order to avoid pressing out the adhesive, measured values in the transfer unit are compared with corresponding values in the third unit. At least one controlled variable in the units can then be readjusted on the basis of a difference, to at least reduce the quantity of adhesive squeezed out. A transfer method and a covering surface are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20110277905
Abstract: A printer has a printer unit including a recording head and automatic cutter, and an adhesive transfer unit disposed downstream from the automatic cutter. The adhesive transfer unit has a transfer mechanism that supplies adhesive tape and transfers adhesive to recording paper at a transfer position. When a paper detector disposed upstream from the transfer position detects recording paper, the control unit of the printer causes the pressure mechanism to alternately form the contact state pressing the recording paper to the adhesive tape, and the non-contact state in which the recording paper is separated from the adhesive tape. Adhesive is transferred to the recording paper passing the transfer position while this contact operation repeats intermittently.
