  • Patent number: 11266260
Abstract: A rug tab is provided. The rug tab can include a support material, having an upper side and a lower side; an upper adhesive layer applied on the upper side of the support material; and a lower adhesive layer applied on the lower side of the support material. The rug tab can be designed such that (i) an upper adhesive layer sheer force is at least 25% greater than a lower adhesive layer sheer force, (ii) an upper adhesive layer peel force is at least twice a lower adhesive layer peel force, or (iii) both options (i) and (ii), where the force values are measured one hour after application of a respective upper or lower adhesive layer to a target surface. A method of stabilizing a rug and a kit for stabilizing a rug using the rug tabs are also provided.

Abstract: A rug hold down corner has a planar plate connecting to a base beneath. The plate and base have triangular forms, preferably a right triangle and alternatively an isosceles right triangle. The triangular forms include two edges intersecting at a common point and a hypotenuse opposite the common point. The plate connects to the base using mechanical fasteners preferably upon the edges and alternatively upon the interior of the plate and the base. The plate may have various geometric patterns formed therein while the base generally remains solid and includes at least one felt pad, generally opposite the plate. The felt pad contacts a floor surface or other carpet beneath the rug. In a further alternate embodiment, the edges of the plate extend outwardly and downwardly so the edges extend over and down the periphery of a rug's corner.

  • Publication number: 20040068830
Abstract: A wedge for use with the legs of tables or like furniture to secure such legs in position and to prevent rocking or wobbling in use. The wedge comprises a wedge-part shaped and dimensioned to allow such wedge-part to be put in position between the undersurface at the foot of the leg to be supported and the surface of the floor intended to support the table or like piece of furniture and, integrally therewith, or fixedly attached thereto, a strap-part which is flexible enough to be wrapped around the said leg and securely but detachably attached thereto. In use, the wedge can be secured to the leg on a permanent or strictly temporary basis whilst being detachable therefrom as needed, and the wedge-part can be employed to fulfill its desired function as and when needed. The wedge part is composed of a sufficiently deformable but resilient material to allow its intended purpose to be satisfied.

  • Patent number: 6385812
Abstract: A vehicle floor mat affixation device includes at least two tines or hook members formed on respective helical paths around an axis of the affixation device and ending in sharpened points. The preferably tempered stainless steel hook members are adapted to easily pierce vehicle floor carpeting and to be screwed into place. A reverse face of the affixation device includes a panel of releasable fastening material that is designed to mate with a similar panel of releasable fastening material in the vehicle floor mat. The present invention resists affixation device pull out and shear forces applied to the mat with respect to the carpeting on which the mat is placed, but nonetheless permits easy removal and replacement of the vehicle floor mat and of the affixation devices themselves.

  • Patent number: 6230446
Abstract: A plastic wedge shaped shim for leveling which is prescored to enable protruding section to be broken off. Parallel, straight, scores are formed at regular intervals on the top surface of the shim. These scores form teeth enabling stacked shims to interengage one another when one is placed inverted on another. The underside of the shim has recesses configured such that there exists a zone of constituent material which has equal localized thickness measurements along that portion of the length of the shim wherein scores and the recess formed in the underside of the shim are in overlying relationship. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the recesses form cleats for resisting sliding or other displacement of the shim.

  • Patent number: RE47329
Abstract: An anchor for a carpet tile includes a cross-shaped base having four arms extending from a vertex. The arms form a planar top surface and a planar bottom surface. A vertical blade centered on the base rises to engage the backing of a carpet tile when a corner of the carpet tile is placed near the vertex. The blade is preferably made of bendable and resilient material. Preferably, the anchor is used with a pedestal head of a raised-flooring system and has a nub extending from the bottom surface of each of the arms of the base to fit within holes in the pedestal head and thereby secure the anchor to the pedestal head. An alternative anchor includes a plate for the base and the blade in the shape of a cross rises from the plate. The plate may have a hole in each quadrant defined by the blade.
