Abstract: A security cover plate assembly for a barrel hinge and the assembly has an inner cover plate and an outer cover plate. The inner cover plate has a flat wall portion and a curved wall portion. The outer cover plate has a flat wall portion and a curved wall portion and a top wall and a bottom wall extend from the respective top and bottom edges of its curved wall portion to cover its respective top and bottom ends. These top and bottom walls prevent access to the hinge pin of a conventional barrel hinge for a door, a window, a boat hatch, or any other installation when the security cover plate assembly plate has been installed in combination therewith. At least one pin extends transversely from the flat wall portion of one of the flat wall portions and the other of the flat wall portions has a pin receiving aperture. The transversely extending pins prevent removal of a door from its hinge assembly even if the hinge pin has been removed.

Abstract: A disposable mask for door hinge and butt plate hardware designed to be slided onto the hardware instead of being frictionally clipped onto it. The mask includes a flattened plate attached to a cylindrical body and is distinguished by a longitudinal crease defining a weakened line along the cylindrical body and a tab either on said plate or on said cylinder. After use, a screwdriver or human finger may be used to apply pressure to the tab causing the mask to break along the weakened line so that it falls harmlessly from the door hardware in two disposable pieces.

Abstract: A telephone network interface enclosure comprises a base and hinge pin integrally molded together as one piece. The enclosure includes a cover and hinge hooks also integrally molded together as one piece. The hinge pin and hinge hooks fit together to form a hinge. There is a hinge shield which, together with the hinge hooks, substantially totally cover the hinge pin.

Abstract: A furniture hinge comprises a cup (12) which is flush-mounted in a door (17). The cup (12) comprises lateral protrusions (13, 14) having slots (15, 16) into which are inserted a shank with a button-shaped end (21, 22) protruding from the surface of the door (17) on either side of the housing (18) of the cup. The cup (12) is rotatable in the housing (18) from a first position in which the button-shaped ends fit into the slots (15, 16) to an operative or locking position with the wing (11) generically perpendicular to the edge of the door (17) and the button-shaped end locked in the slots (15, 16). A base (34) is provided for securing an articulated wing (11) of the hinge to the piece of furniture. Said base (34) comprises slots (47, 48) into which are inserted a shank (49, 58) of a button-shaped end (63, 64) protruding from the surface of the furniture.

Abstract: A half hinge paint masking cover for doors, and/or door frames is provided as a one piece body molded of a rigid thermoplastic resin. The device includes two molded half cavities each cavity being connected by a thin flexible membrane of the molded material. The first cavity area covers the back surface area of the hinge barrel and has two half end shields each of which cover half the edge area of the hinge barrel and the exposed edge area of the hinge plate. The second cavity half covers the front surface half of the hinge barrel and has two end shields which cover half the edge area of the hinge barrel. A portion connected to the second cavity half includes a long flat area which covers the exposed face side of the hinge plate. The two half cavities are secured to each other by folding along the flexible membrane and engulfing the door or frame half hinge until pins projecting from tops on one half engage and protrude through holes which are located on tabs on the other half.

The supporting arm of the hinge can be snapped onto or removed from a mounting plate which can be fastened onto the edge of the frame stile.

Abstract: A protective cover for a hinge has a band-like cover strip which extends longitudinally relative to the hinge and has one end connected with the hinge barrel and the other end of the cover strip connected with the hinge arm. The cover strip is longitudinally elastic and flexible and covers at least the respective top sides of the hinge barrel and the hinge arm. The cover strip can have a U-shaped cross section.

Abstract: A paint mask for a butt hinge and a masking method for protecting the hinge against paint spray or the like. The hinge paint mask includes a rectangular main portion sized to match and cover the front faces of the hinge leaves and the front of the barrel. The mask also includes central, respectively upwardly and downwardly projecting tab portions sized to fold over all parts of the upper and lower edges of the leaves adjacent the hinge barrel which are not shielded by the door edge or jamb recesses.

The device automatically expands and contracts to cover gaps created by the opening and closing of the door in a highly unobtrusive manner, thereby providing protection against insertion of body parts or the like into said gaps and resultant injury when the door is closed.

Abstract: A low silhouette cargo bay cover for pickup trucks and the like includes an angle member mounted on the cargo bay sides equipped with a flexible gasket to form a seal with the cover. The cover has a special narrow panel adjacent the cab to make it possible to more completely expose the cargo area of the turck and improved seal means at each of the hinges to more effectively exclude moisture.

Abstract: A back door hinge mounting structure comprising a pair of bolts connected with to each other at the central portion thereof and threaded at the opposed ends thereof, one end of the opposed ends connected to the roof panel with the other of the opposed ends to the fixed leaf of the back door hinge and a hinge cap for covering the mounting bolts which can be mounted and removed only when the back door is open, so that access to the mounting bolts with the back door closed is avoided.

Abstract: A device for resisting entry of an object into a space between the hinged edge of a door and associated door jamb includes an elongated sheet of material thin enough to be placed in this space without impeding the closing of the door. The sheet has first and second strips adapted to be fixedly connected within the space to the door and jamb, respectively. A third strip interconnects the first and second strips and coacts therewith to resist entry of objects into the space when the door and jamb are brought together.

Abstract: A covering element for a furniture hinge has a central channel portion which is substantially U-shaped in cross-section. The sides of the U-shaped section are extended at one end beyond the base of the U and the extensions have aligned holes formed in them to receive a pin for pivotal connection to a hinge member. The cover encloses parts of the hinge used for adjusting the relative angular and spatial positions of the hinge members, to prevent accidental displacement. In the closed position of the covering element, inwardly turned extensions of the channel edges form a snap fit around a hinge casing, and the end of the hinge is enclosed by an angled-over extension of the channel base.

Abstract: A cover for cabinet hinges which serves for the hanging of a door ona cabinet and has a carcase-related hinge part which can be adjustably fasterned on the cabinet wall and a door-related hinge part coupled by a linkage mechanism to the carcase-related part and attachable to the inside of the door, which cover conceals at least a portion of the hinge components. The cover has an elongated bellows of elastic material open on its side facing the inside surfaces, which can be elastically lengthened an can flex, at least in the area of the linkage mechanism, around the pivot axis of the hinge. The bellows has at each end a fastening flange which can be releasably attached to the carcase-related hinge part or to the mounting plate of the latter and to the door-related hinge part, respectively.

Abstract: A hinge for connecting two relatively movable components of a piece of furniture has a housing which is mounted on one of the components and a carrier which is mounted on the other component. A link bar pivotally connects the housing to a hinge arm which is secured to a quick-mounting plate via a fastening screw. The fastening screw passes through a slotted hole of the hinge arm so that the latter can be moved longitudinally relative to the quick-mounting plate when the fastening screw is loosened. An adjusting screw is threaded into the hinge arm and allows the inclination of the hinge arm relative to the quick-mounting plate to be adjusted. One end of the quick-mounting plate is provided with a pivotable arresting member for rapidly locking the quick-mounting plate to, and rapidly releasing it from, the carrier. The arresting member has a lip which engages a projection of the carrier in the locked condition. A cover is provided for the hinge arm and is designed to overlie the fastening and adjusting screws.

Abstract: A furniture hinge is described which comprises a hinge base, and a hingeable arm arrangement adjustably connected to a hinge bracket which is clipped onto the hinge base. The hinge base is attached to a piece of furniture adjacent a door thereof, and the arm arrangement is attached to the door thereof.The invention provides a clip-on arrangement which may be easily operated, requires only a few parts, and operates reliably. In this respect, the hinge base has front and rear extensions projecting away from the base in opposite longitudinal directions. The hinge bracket has a U-shaped cross-section formed by two lateral limbs and a front base limb. The front extensions on the base, which are situated adjacent the door, pivotally engage the front base limb of the U-shaped hinge bracket, and the rear ends of the lateral limbs remote from the door are provided with spring catches which resiliently snap-lock onto the rear extensions of the base.

Abstract: Security hardware for an exterior entry door in which a flat piece of metal is bent into a J-shaped door jamb mounted component and in which an aperture through which a door mounted article of hardware can project is provided in the single layer part an aligned buck pin apertures are provided in the double layer part of the component. A buck pin having a head portion and a grooved portion spaced therefrom is also provided as is a slotted retaining member that when positioned between the double layer of the component engages the grooved portion of the buck pin to prevent its removal from the buck pin apertures.

Abstract: A panel for overlaying the exposed surface of the leaf of a hinge component has an edge contoured to align with the edge of the leaf. A longitudinally served tubular member extending along an edge of the panel receives the pintle portion of the hinge component. The pintle portion may be compressively quipped within the tubular member. Also, a pressure sensitive adhesive may be carried on the surface of the panel for application to the surface of the leaf.

Abstract: A hinge mask product is provided, which consists of two substantially rectangular parts, with one of the parts having a tab for removal of this one part. One part of the mask is for the face of a hinge positioned and coupled between door and a door frame. The other part of the hinge mask is for the pin of the hinge. These parts of the hinge mask are used to mask the front face of the hinge and the hinge pin to prevent them from being covered by paint, stain, lacquer, or similar material when the door and door frame are located with a material, such as paint, lacquer, and the like. Hinges are of several standard sizes, and there are several specialty sizes. The hinge mask can be manufactured to cover both standard and specialty sizes.

Abstract: A hinge-like device for securing the hinge side of a door against "kick-ins." The device comprises a jamb leaf that extends outside the area protected by a closed door so that a buck pin projecting through the extended portion can engage the strongest part of the wall structure. A cover plate is provided to prevent access to and removal of the buck pin, and the cover plate is itself irremovable because its mounting screws are shielded by a closed door. A door leaf secured to the inner surface of the door is loosely fitted to the jamb leaf.

Abstract: A recessed hinge wherein a socket is installed in the pivotable door of a piece of furniture and an arm is attached to a stationary wall of the piece of furniture. The socket contains a pintle which connects the socket to the arm, and the socket has an open side which is concealable by a closure pivotally connected to the arm by a pin which is parallel to the pintle. The closure overlies the open side of the socket in the closed position of the door, and it arrests the door when the latter reaches its fully open position. Two extensions of the closure extend into the socket and engage abutments in the socket when the door is closed. The closure can be made of an elastomeric material.

Abstract: A hinge comprised of a door leaf, a body leaf, and required shims, which support and asist in pivoting a vehicle panel door. The door leaf is uniquely constructed, having extended parallel portions on each side of the wide end connected by an integrally formed hinge pin, creating a door leaf slot with said integral pin being the axis of rotation for said door. Alternatively, two underside projections on said door leaf near the narrow end or a T-slot, serve as fastener receiving means when the hinge is attached to said vehicle panel door. The body leaf has a semi-circular knuckle portion that serves as a sleeve within which sid integral hinge pin said door leaf rotates. Two projections on the mounting portion of said body leaf are fastener receiving means when said body leaf is attached to said vehicle panel body.

Abstract: An improved hinge for supporting a door on a door jamb wherein the jamb leaf of the hinge is provided with an extended part having a buck pin that is offset from that part of the leaf aligned with a door edge so that the pin is insertable in an aperture provided in the strongest part of the wall behind the door jamb. The jamb leaf is secured to the door jamb by screws located at the extended part of the leaf, i.e., outside the area covered by a closed door, and a protective cover is provided to prevent access to the screws after the leaf is secured to the door jamb.

Abstract: An improved strike plate for mounting on a door jamb to receive the dead bolt of a door mounted lock wherein the strike plate is provided with a buck pin that is offset from the bolt receiving aperture of the plate so as to be insertable in an opening provided in the strongest part of the wall supporting structure. A hinge similarly constructed is also disclosed.

Abstract: A security safe apparatus has a security container having an opening thereinto and a safe door covering the opening and having a combination lock thereon. The safe door is provided with a hinge for hinging the door to the security container and has a pair of hinge pins attached to the safe door and a pair of grooved hinge pin supports for nesting the hinge pins therein so that the door can be easily hinged open and lifted off the security container. Locking plates attached to the inside of the safe door extend under a safe flange to prevent entry into the safe when the safe door is closed.

Abstract: A hinge includes a hinge arm which is adjustable in three directions. An intermediate member is situated between the hinge arm and a mounting plate. One screw clamps the intermediate member to the mounting plate, another screw clamps the hinge arm to the intermediate member, and a third screw acts between the intermediate member and the mounting plate providing an adjustment of the hinge arm in a plane vertical to the mounting plate.

Abstract: A cabinet which contains an appliance such as a refrigerator is provided with novel hinges having one member secured to the body of the appliance and the other member adapted to carry both the door of the appliance and the door of the cabinet for simultaneous operation. The hinge members are interconnected in a known manner by means of connecting links pivotally mounted at each end to the respective member. A spring may be incorporated in each hinge for biassing the doors into the closed position.
