Guide Brackets Patents (Class 16/90)
  • Patent number: 4662553
Abstract: A shimming system and shim assembly are provided, particularly for door guides and supports for sliding and folding doors of closets and the like. The shim assembly includes shim members having shim plates and projections of different lengths so that different shim members can be assembled in stacked relationship with one another to raise the door guide or support to a desired height. The shim members are of clear plastic material so as not to require painting, staining, or the like. Each shim member can be readily reduced to proper width and length so as to be positioned completely under the base of the door guide or support and thereby be substantially concealed. The shim plates have score grooves by which portions can be broken off to reduce the shim plate to the proper size and the shimming system includes a tool for facilitating removal of the unwanted portions beyond the score grooves.

  • Patent number: 4646652
Abstract: A railroad car arranged to transport automobiles comprises a floor, a roof, a pair of spaced side walls, at least one door assembly and means for guiding the door assembly to a position adjacent a side wall to enable loading and unloading of the railroad car. A rail secures the lower end of the door assembly, the rail being positioned along the floor of the railroad car. Extensions are attached to the door assembly and are in sliding engagement with the rail. The rail has two interrupted portions through which the tires of an automobile will pass during loading and unloading. The extensions attached to the door assembly are aligned onto the rail after passing through the interrupted portions during opening and closing by a pair of rail segments. The rail segments are spaced at an angle towards the rail and away from the interrupted portions and are attached to the floor at both ends of each interrupted portion.

  • Patent number: 4639970
Abstract: For slidably mounting a panel such as a door on a railed track, a roller assembly including a roller having a peripheral groove for sliding on the track rail, housing structure for mounting the roller in the panel, and a rigid metal stabilizer element carried by the housing structure and having a grooved or notched extremity for overlying the rail, in tandem relation to the roller, to prevent derailment of the roller. The stabilizer element is vertically slidable in the housing structure so as to ride smoothly along the rail, accommodating local irregularities or variations in rail height.

  • Patent number: 4258443
Abstract: Enclosure for wet chamber, particularly for bathrooms or shower rooms with several adjacent slideable partitions with each partition suspended in an upper guide rail and with a lower guide member consisting of an elongated, box-shaped adapter seated on the edge of a wet-chamber tub, an elongated lower guide detachably fastened to the adapter. The guide rail has at least one guide with an inverted U-shape cross section with the outer leg as the longitudinal wall along the dry side of the room and with an inner free leg wall. A lower guide strip extends from the partition, first downwardly, then under the free leg wall, then upwardly to form a pocket open at the top into which the free U leg wall extends.

  • Patent number: 4228560
Abstract: Lower guide for a sliding partition for bath and shower rooms with sliding doors suspended from above extending down into a guide slot of an elongated lower guide member open at the top and confined by two lateral guide walls and a bottom. Pivotal means are provided for swinging the lateral guide wall outward about a horizontal swivel axis with the height of the swung-out wall from its highest point to the bottom of the guide member smaller than the distance between the bottom of the doors and the bottom of the guide member. The swinging guide wall is supported between lateral frame parts with pivot pins extending into vertical slots in each end of the guide wall to permit raising it and then swinging it out. This permits ready cleaning of accumulated dirt in the slot without disassembly and reassembly of the elongated lower guide member.
