Sliding Shoe Patents (Class 16/93R)
  • Patent number: 5920956
Abstract: For mounting a folding/sliding door, a support is connected to a hinge arm of a hinger mounted in the upper outer end area of an outer door leaf in a position in which the side of the retaining part that attaches to the hinge arm is located in the extension of the bearing part. The folding/sliding door can then be joined by its inner leaf via hinges, preferentially standard double-link hinges, to a side panel of the body. The pre-fitted support, already connected to the hinge arm of the outer door leaf, can then be introduced and locked into the guide channel together with its carriage part. First, the carriage part is swiveled through 90 degrees around the retaining part so as to position the carriage part within the longitudinal slot of the guide channel. The carriage part is then locked in place by turning the hammer-shaped head through 90 degrees by means of its supporting pin.

  • Patent number: 5771534
Abstract: A slider block assembly and method for making the same are disclosed. The slider block assembly is for use with an elongate guide channel having a pair of laterally spaced apart side walls and a pair of axially spaced apart base walls joined to the side walls with one of the base walls having an elongate slot therein. The slider block assembly comprises a slider block having a socket therein and a fastener having a generally spherical ball. Preferably, the slider block is axisymmetric having an annular side wall flange and an annular base flange extending from a main body. The side wall and base flanges are cooperatively biased against the side walls and base walls when the slider block is inserted in the guide channel to prevent the slider block from rattling therewithin while allowing the slider block to slide or roll within the guide channel.

  • Patent number: 5737802
Abstract: A base member and a fascia are assembled to form a hollow door section which is filled with insulative material. Adjacent sections are coupled along respective longitudinal edges for angular and spatial displacement. The base member is extended from a selected plastic with male and female coupling components extending continuously along respective longitudinal edges. A plurality of mounting members projecting from the lateral edges of the sections matingly and slidably engage the semi-cylindrical guide surface of a tract for reciprocal vertical movement of the door. The door may be partially raised for spatial displacement of the sections whereby flow-through ventilation openings are exposed. In a specific embodiment, a flexible drive screw is rotatably carried within the track for powered operation of the door. In alternate embodiments a generally tubular door track is either grasped by a door guide apparatus having a clip, or the guide is slit and a rounded guide rides within the track.

  • Patent number: 5647094
Abstract: An improved sliding member for a regulator assembly has a slide body providing a substantially spherical working contact surface and attachment means extending from the slide body for mounting the sliding member to another member of the regulator assembly. The slide body can be substantially mushroom-shaped, having a cap portion and a hub portion, wherein the cap portion forms the substantially spherical working contact surface and includes a substantially curvo-annular flange coaxially surrounding the hub portion. The attachment means can be provided as an attachment stud having a head portion embedded in the slide body, preferably extending coaxially through the hub portion. One or more flexure gaps can be provided in the curvo-annular flange to provide improved compressive fit of the sliding member within a guide channel. A regulator assembly incorporating the sliding member can provide such guide channel as a tube channel in an elongate guide member.

  • Patent number: 5548869
Abstract: A pivot assembly employs a pivot block to resist lateral forces and facilitate door alignment. The assembly includes a sleeve, pivot pin, pivot block and jamb bracket. The jamb bracket is connected to a corner between a jamb and a floor. The pivot block mounts on to the jamb bracket with anchors that engage serrations in a slot of the jamb bracket. The pivot block includes two halves resiliently connected at one end and separated by a gap, with a conical socket centered along the gap. A pivot pin is threaded into a sleeve mounted to the lower edge of a door to adjust height. A head on the lower end of the pin engages grooves in the pivot block socket. The pivot block halves separate to accommodate the pivot pin, and to cause the pivot block halves to be anchored in the jamb bracket. To properly align the door, the door is lifted to disengage the pivot pin from the pivot block. Vertical height is adjusted by rotating the pivot pin in the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4962948
Abstract: In a passive seat belt system for a motor vehicle, a slide shoe mounted on a runner is composed of at least a pair of blocks spaced from each other in the direction of movement of the runner, in order to overcome the problem of the varying clearance between the runner and the guide rail. As the runner is moved along the guide rail, the two blocks contact the guide rail at their central portions and, in the meantime, an intermediate portion of the slide shoe is non-engageable with the guide rail. The result is that the slide shoe can contact the guide rail at the same portions even when the posture of the runner is changed due to the change of the curvature of the guide rail and the change of the cross-section shape of the guide rail.

  • Patent number: 4819297
Abstract: An integral plastics body mounted on a corner connector for a door can serve as either a hanger or guide. As a hanger, the assembly supports the weight of a door for sliding along a horizontal overhead track having a downwardly extending L-shaped limb. If used as a guide with such a track, the plastics body can move vertically relative to the corner connector. Rigid posts extend upwardly from the body for encompassing opposite sides of the foot of the L-shaped limb on the track. A flexible finger extending upwardly from the body has a hook that fits over the top of the foot on the L-shaped limb for safely latching the plastics body to the track, thereby preventing toppling of the door. A tab on the finger permits it to be manually flexed to withdraw the hook from over the foot and release the plastics body from the track.
