Abstract: A grip for ergonomic comfort attaches to the handle of a paint brush and has a pistol style grip, the top of which has a pair of v-shaped cradles separated by about 10 cms. These cradles extend from a rear arm and a short front arm. Between the arms, a strap arrangement captures a paintbrush by applying downward force to the brush handle mounted onto the cradles. The strap is secured to a top region of pistol grip, and it is adjustable either by a velcro fastening method or a buckle cleat.

Abstract: An elongated operating shaft supporting a tool at one end, a drive motor at its other end, and transmission means extending through said shaft to drive said tool is provided with a control handle for adjusting the holding and guiding the position and orientation of said tool. The control handle is formed of a unitary body having a handgrip section and an attachment section, which is provided with a hole into which the supporting shaft is inserted and which is formed with sufficient clearance to permit said handle body to be rocked to and fro along the longitudinal axis of the shaft. Spring means is mounted for biasing said handle body along an axis having an inclined position with respect to the longitudinal axis of the shaft so that said surface of the shaft is contacted by the surface of the hole at at least two opposed points, thereby to normally lock the handle body in said inclined position.

Abstract: An extension pole is provided for use in handling and manipulating a tool head, such as a tree pruner or other selected implement. The pole comprises a base section and an extension section defining a mated pair of generally planar side faces retained in face-to-face relation by a first slide cuff secured to a distal end of the base section for slide-fit reception of the extension section, and a second slide cuff secured to a proximal end of the extension section for slide-fit reception of the base section. One or more lock keys are carried by one of the pole sections for key-lock engagement with a longitudinally extending pattern of detents formed in the side face of the other pole section. At least one band clamp is releasibly secured about the pole sections to retain the lock keys in engagement with the detent pattern, thereby releasibly locking the two pole sections in a selected position of longitudinal adjustment.

Abstract: An improved packaging handle is provided which consists of a strap member with a structure for adhering the strap member to a top surface of a package. A component for grasping is located at the center of the strap member, so that a person can carry the package with one hand therefrom.

Abstract: A hand tool includes at least one handle connected to a tool head in a secure and stable manner to accommodate loads incurred during normal use, wherein the handle is adapted for quick and easy removal and replacement. The tool includes a mounting tang projecting rearwardly from the tool head and having a handle adapter at a rear end thereof. The handle adapter defines a rearwardly open socket for slide-fit reception of a front end of the handle. At least one clamp is provided for securely but releasably clamping the handle front end within the adapter socket. In the preferred form, the handle is constructed from a lightweight fiber resin composite material and has an adapter cuff mounted on the front end thereof for mating slide-fit reception into the adapter socket.

Abstract: A handle extension for a coaster wagon which allows an adult to easily control the handle thereof without having to bend and yet is quickly adaptable to any preselected shape of grip component of the handle, composed of an extension member for providing a length elongation of the tubular component of the handle of the coaster wagon, a connector member for connecting the extension member immovably to the grip component, and a hand grip for being held by the user of the coaster wagon, who may or may not be a full sized adult, but which is dimensioned to accommodate even the largest of adult sized hands. It is preferred for the extension member to be of a flat thin, elongated shape, terminating in an open hand grip. The connector member is releasably connected with the extension member at the end thereof opposite the hand grip.

Abstract: An extension handle for a seat adjustment lever enables physically handicapped persons to more easily adjust their car seat. The extension handle includes an extension bar having a lower end portion and an upper end portion terminating in a handle grip. A connecting block is secured to the lower end portion of the extension bar and is adapted to be mounted on the seat adjustment lever. The extension bar is bent so that it extends upwardly towards the top of the top of the seat where it can more easily reached by physically handicapped persons. The extension bar also provides additional leverage which makes the seat adjustment lever more easily to operate.

Abstract: An auxiliary tool handle (10) for attachment to cylindrical tool handles (12), such as those used for garden rakes, hoes, push brooms and the like. The auxiliary tool handle (10) comprises at least one curvilinear handle segment (16, 20) for removable and adjustable mounting on a conventional tool handle. Sleeves (18) for slidable mounting of the handle segments on conventional cylindrical tool handles are attached to the handle segments (16, 20), thereby enabling adjustable mounting thereof about the circumference and along the length of the tool handle.

Abstract: A load carrying handle for securement to an article to be hand-supported or displaced. The carrying handle comprises a handle grip having a strap retaining elongated cavity therein. The cavity has an open end and a bottom end wall. An article attaching element having at least a flat grip attaching portion is also provided. A wedge rod is disposed in tight fit in the cavity with the attaching portion of the attaching element wedged between the wedge rod and extends over opposed sides of the wedge rod and an inner end thereof. The wedge rod is dimensioned so that an outer end thereof terminates substantially flush with a peripheral end wall of the handle grip about the open end so that when the carrying handle is secured to an article and the attaching element is secured tightly about the article, the wedge rod outer end will abut the object and provide a solid connection therewith with the attaching portion held secured between the handle grip and wedge.

Abstract: This invention relates to a new and improved sack handle. The sack handle is comprised of a suitably-shaped handle frame with a mechanism to be attached to the top of a sack, a latching mechanism to keep the sack handle attached to the sack and a mechanism for placement of logos, brands, names or instructions. The sack handle provides a convenient and comfortable way to securely close and carry a sack. It is also very quickly and easily detachable from the sack.

Abstract: A sanitary door opening assembly (10) comprising a U-shaped bracket (12) disposed around the outer edge (20) and sides (14,15) of a door (16). A hook (24) is mounted to the U-shaped bracket (12) and door (16) by fasteners (52). The hook (24) is defined by an arcuate pocket (26) opening toward the outer swinging edge (20) of the door (16) for receiving a human forearm to pull open the door (16).

Abstract: The invention is a detachable auxiliary handle that may be attached to the shaft of a work implement such as a shovel, rake, hoe or other implement. The auxiliary handle may be placed at any point on the shaft to suit the user and will fit almost any size and shape of shaft. The auxiliary handle is composed of a handle and two brackets, one bracket attached to each side of the handle. The brackets have a vertical arm portion and a horizontal portion leading to a shaft engaging portion, which is vertical and has a curved shaft engaging section which is tightened around the shaft of the implement with bolts. Preferably the vertical arm portion is curved in the vertical plane to provide extra leverage and greater ease of use.

Abstract: A combined pull and carry handle comprises a one-piece part adapted to be retained within an aperture in a panel or the like having a face portion adapted to engage the front of the panel when the one-piece part is retained within the aperture, an opening extending through the one-piece part, a cross-bar disposed across the top of the opening having a channel therein adapted to receive an edge of the panel when the one-piece part is retained within the aperture, a cap adapted to receive the one-piece part therein and sized so as to engage the back of the panel, and a pair of screws for securing the cap to the one-piece part and thereby retaining the one-piece part within the aperture in the panel.

Abstract: A tree saw uses a flexible sapling or tree limb as a handle extension to permit a person to cut tree branches beyond his normal reach. The tree saw comprises a foldable saw having a pair of swingable rings mounted to the back of the saw handle. A fulcrum is secured to the handle back surface intermediate the rings. The limb is inserted through the rings and over the fulcrum. The limb is bent into a concave shape. One of the rings is swung along the limb as far as possible. When the limb is released, its natural elasticity tends to straighten it and thereby force it into tight and rigid connection with the rings and fulcrum.

Abstract: A handle especially convenient for arthritics or handicapped persons that includes two hingedly connected sections that close together to mate with and engage an object received between ends of the sections remote from their hinged connection. When the sections are closed, the hinged ends thereof define a handle. The sections can be releasably secured in their closed relation.

Abstract: An extension for a handle of a tool or similar device includes a hollow cylindrical shaped tube formed with a series of circumferentially spaced slots that provide intervening strips of tube material adjacent to but spaced from an open end of the tube. A manually operated clamping band encircles the strips of tube material and clamps the strip against a handle inserted into the tube bore. A second pair of circumferentially spaced slots and intervening strips of the material may be formed adjacent to the first series of strips and is encircled by another clamp for increasing the grip on a handle inserted into the tube.

Abstract: An extensible handle bar for cleaning and painting tools and the like comprises inner and outer tubes in slidable telescoping relationship, the outer tube having a pair of apertures therein containing inserts. A helically threaded nut extends over the exterior surface of the outer tube and the inserts. The outer surface of each of the inserts includes projecting thread segments which mate with the internal threads of the nut. The internal threads of the nut and the thread segments of the insert each have a conical configuration. Upon rotation of the nut in one direction on the outer tube, the inserts are depressed radially such that the inner surfaces of the inserts press against the outer surface of the inner tube to axially lock the inner and outer tubes together.

Abstract: A removable hand grip for use on a fishing rod handle of the type having two axial shiftable rings for mounting a spinning or similar fishing reel having a T-shaped mounting bracket. The hand grip has a generally U-shaped cross-section and a tapering upper surface along the longitudinal axis thereof with a transverse convex exterior surface. In the preferred embodiment, the hand grip is removably secured to the fishing rod handle on the reel mounting portion of the handle opposite the reel mounting bracket. Alternatively, the hand grip may be formed integrally with the fishing rod handle.

Abstract: An attachment for permitting the focus of a microscope while operating the microscope stage may be provided with means including a fastener engagable with the focusing control of the microscope and providing an extended surface to permit simultaneous and one-handed operation of the microscope focusing control and the microscope stage by an operator.
