Abstract: A hinge assembly includes a first hinge leaf for attachment to a door, a second hinge leaf hingedly coupled to the first hinge leaf, and a mounting plate for adjustably positioning and attaching the second hinge leaf to a cabinet frame, casing, door jamb, or the like. The mounting plate includes an elongate slot for receipt of a mounting screw therethrough, permitting movement of the mounting plate relative to the cabinet frame and mounting screw until the screw is tightened against the mounting plate. A window opening in the second hinge leaf exposes the elongate slot and mounting screw when the second hinge leaf is attached to the mounting plate, thereby permitting adjustable positioning of the door on the cabinet frame or other mounting structure.

Abstract: Disclosed is a refrigerator having a lower hinge member installed at a lower corner of a body forming a cooling compartment, and an upper hinge bracket installed at an upper corner of the body. The lower hinge member has a lower hinge pin assembled to a lower corner of a door for opening/closing the cooling compartment. A removable pin member is installed on the upper hinge bracket. The pin member has an upper hinge pin assembled to an upper corner of the door. A worker fixes the upper hinge bracket and the lower hinge member to the body, and then assembles the door to the body. Then, he installs the pin member on the upper hinge bracket, whereby the upper part of the door is assembled with the upper hinge pin. Thus, the door can be easily assembled to the body. Further, as the pin member is disassembled from the upper hinge bracket, the door can be disassembled from the body without detaching the upper hinge bracket.

Abstract: A base plate for fixing a hinge arm on furniture is constituted by a support plate (2) which can be fixed to a support wall, a covering plate (3) at least partially covering the support plate and transversely guided thereon and having fixing devices for attaching the hinge arm. Pre-mounted fixing screws (23,23') are partially screwed in the holes (20,21) of the support plate (2) and go through oblong holes (15,16) provided in the covering plate (3). In order to let the covering plate be transversely moved, easily and by economical means, and in order to prevent the support plate from separating from the covering plate before the mounting of the base plate, one hole (20) of the support plate (2) is at least partially surrounded by guide sockets (24) that go through the corresponding oblong hole (15) of the covering plate and slightly protrude from its upper edge.

Abstract: A device for fastening a toilet seat and cover to the rim of a toilet bowl, including a plate having a slot extending laterally across the plate and a screw passing through the slot. The plate is selectively adjustable along the length of the slot with respect to the screw and around the screw for positioning the plate. A stud standing up from the plate receives a hollow sleeve shaped toilet seat support over the stud. The stud is expanded by a tightening screw to secure the stud inside the support and thereby to fix the support.

Abstract: A hinge bracket assembly for a flipper door comprises a bracket body to which a pair of spaced rollers are fitted along an edge thereof. The rollers are spaced slightly from a flange portion of the bracket body to define slots therebetween. A hinge arrangement is provided along a forward edge of the bracket body for hingeable attachment to a cabinet door. The bracket flange portion is slideable within a simple J-channel mounted to an inside wall of the cabinet whereby the rollers bear against a flange surface of the J-channel and serve to inhibit rotational movement of the bracket body relative to the J-channel as the body is guided lengthwise of the channel. A pair of such brackets each mounted to opposite sides of the door thereby allows the door to freely retract into the cabinet without racking.

Abstract: A hinge for mounting a door on a frame of an article of furniture includes a mounting plate mountable to the frame, a hinge arm mounted on the mounting plate, and a hinge case mountable to the door end connected to the hinge arm by at least one hinge axle. The mounting plate is fastenable to the frame by at least one fastening screw. The mounting plate is provided with a key hole or a T-shaped hole having a broad first part and a narrow second part. An adjustment screw is mounted in a female thread of the hinge arm and has a head part and a neck part, the neck part being of smaller diameter than a threaded part of the screw. The width of the broad first part of the hole is broader than the diameter of the head part of the adjustment screw and the width of the narrow second part of the hole is less than the diameter of the head part and of the threaded part. The neck part of the adjustment screw is held in the narrow second part of the hole, and the head part abuts a rear side of the mounting plate.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a furniture hinge having a wall-related part shaped as an elongated supporting arm which can be mounted for adjustment in at least two coordinate directions on an associated mounting plate disposed on the wall of a cabinet carcase. The supporting arm is mounted and fastened on the mounting plate by a mounting screw driven into the mounting plate and passing through a slot provided at the inside end with an enlarged pass-through opening in the web of the supporting arm. A threaded spindle is screwed in a tap in the web of the supporting arm, which is situated further out from the carcase interior than the slot. At the bottom end of the spindle, on a neck of smaller diameter, is a head of larger diameter. This head is inserted into an open-ended slot provided in the mounting plate, which clutches the sides of the head, securing it against lifting away from the mounting plate.

Abstract: A cabinet/furniture hinge with a snap-on device for quick assembly includes a hinge cup and a hinge arm, a cover clamp with an adjusting plate, and a fastening plate clamped on the base plate. Retainer surfaces formed on the front area of the fastening plate are releaseably engageable with corresponding surfaces of the base plate, and a resilient spring-biased tilted chute with a grip nose is located on a rear area of the fastening plate. For easy operation of the tilted chute, the grip nose of the tilted chute engages under a projection of the base plate and defines a space between the grip nose and a bottom edge of side projections formed on the base plate. In order to fix the fastening plate on the base plate, the fastening plate is provided with a centering socket which is closely fittingly engageable in a notch of the base plate.

Abstract: An attachment device attaches a gearshift lock to a vehicle and includes a base plate fixed to the vehicle and a bar member for supporting the gearshift lock. The bar member includes a sleeve for rotatably engaging with a rod disposed on the base plate. A projection is extended from the rod for engaging with a notch of the sleeve so as to prevent the bar member from disengaging from the base plate. A screw may secure the sleeve to the rod so as to prevent the bar member from rotating relative to the base plate.

Abstract: Two screws are threaded into two holes in a hinge arm which is adapted to be assembled with a base plate by shifting the arm longitudinally to cause the screws to slide into two U-shaped slots in the plate, the slots permitting longitudinal adjustment of the hinge arm. One of the screws may be turned to adjust the inclination of the hinge arm relative to the base plate while the other screw serves to lock the arm to the plate.

Abstract: A hinge housing for installation in an opening in a thin sheet wall of a door is provided. The hinge housing has a liner plate for installation along an underside thereof against an inside face of the wall, the liner plate having an opening which generally conforms to the opening in the wall, the liner plate having at least two first locking projections extending from the underside of the plate which can grip an outside face of the wall upon rotation of the lining plate. The hinge housing also has a fastening flange for installation against the upper side of the liner plate, the fastening flange having a cup portion and a flange portion extending radially from a rim of the cup portion, the outside perimeter of the cup portion generally conforming to the opening in the wall, such that when the fastening flange is installed against the liner plate, the flange portion covers the liner plate and the cup portion extends into the opening and through the wall.

In this case one part of the fixture is provided with a slide-in opening respectively for the arms pointing forward in the slide-in direction of the other part of the fixture, and one part of the fixture has a spring element which engages in a snap-in recess of the other part of the fixture when the parts of the fixture are assembled and interengaged.

Abstract: A reinforcement is comprised of a support member in the form of a waved sheet and a plate member in the form a generally flat sheet and secured to the support member. The support member has a ridge-like bent portion protruding to one side thereof and forming an opening to the other side thereof. The plate member has a ridge-like projection protruding into the opening to close the same while cooperating with the ridge-like bent portion to constitute a tubular portion for rigidly holding two structural members at a predetermined distance from each other and and receiving a bolt extending between the two structural members for attachment of another member to the two structural members.

Abstract: A roll-back, flat-bed truck comprising a cab at the front end and a frame at the rear end and a flat-bed with a curved leading edge secured thereto by securement members. The securement members include a hinge having a lower hinge half coupled to the frame adjacent to the rear end of the frame and an upper hinge half coupled to the bed. A hinge pin couples the hinge halves to allow tilting the upper hinge half and bed with respect to the lower hinge half and frame about a horizontal axis. A swivel plate is attached to the frame adjacent to the rear end of the frame and a swivel member positioned in an aperture extending through the swivel plate to allow swiveling of the bed with respect to the frame about a vertical axis. The center of curvature of the leading edge of the bed is coextensive with the axis of rotation of the swivel member.

The retaining elements are rigid at one such point, and the other point one retaining element is resilient. The hinge arm and the intermediate member engages the base plate with the rigid retaining elements and snaps only the base plate due to the resilient retaining element, in the form of a leaf spring. A rear end the intermediate member is provided with a bridge which defines a gap into which is inserted the leaf spring. A flap is punched from the leaf spring and engages in a recess of the intermediate member arranged underneath the bridge, thus locking the leaf spring to the intermediate member.

Abstract: A furniture hinge comprises a pivotally movable hinge member, which is adapted to be secured to a door or flap and is connected by two links to a hinge bracket, which is adapted to be connected to a base plate, which is adapted to be secured to a carrying wall. The bracket is slidably guided on the base plate at least in the direction of the depth of a piece of furniture and is adapted to be secured thereto in various depths of insertion by a clamp screw. A stop is provided for limiting the insertion of the hinge bracket in the direction of the depth of the piece of funiture. In order to ensure that the gap between the door and the corups of the furniture will have a predetermined width after the hinge bracket has been pivotally moved to effect a lateral adjustment of the door, an adjusting screw which bears on the base plate is screwed into the hinge bracket and is operable to impart to said hinge bracket a pivotal movement for effecting a lateral adjustment of the door or flap.

Abstract: A quick release furniture hinge has a pivot arm for attachment to one hinged part of a furniture article and a base plate for connection to another hinged part of the furniture article. A connecting plate assembly releasably attaches the pivot arm to the base plate by hooks at one end of the assembly which engage stub shafts on the base plate, and a pivoting latch at the other end of the assembly which latches over a projection on the base plate. The connecting plate assembly also has a pivoted toggle element for engaging and releasing the latch to allow separation of the connecting plate assembly and pivot arm from the base plate.

Rapid assembly is achieved thereby, because the two-part door hinge is completed through simple sliding together of an intermediate plate mounted on the door side and of a frame-side base plate screwed onto the body of the furniture unit. Abstract: A hinge with an adjusting system includes a hinge arm that can be secured to a base plate by at least one adapter. The hinge arm has holes through which pass adjusting and attachment screws. The adapter can be installed on the base plate and can be locked by means of a rocker lever supported on the adapter so as to be able to swivel. The adapter is U-shaped and has two side arms that enclose the base plate and the sides thereof. Both side arms of the adapter lie with no clearance on the base plate, and the material of at least one of the side arms is weakened at at least one place. The adapter is installed at the front by a cross pin thereof fitting in a notch in the base plate. The shape of the notch corresponds to that of the cross pin, and the cross pin is accommodated without any play within the notch. The generators or the center or mid-line longitudinal axes of the notch and the cross pin extend unstressed at an angle relative to each other.

Abstract: A quick assembly attachment mechanism comprising an elongated stud member having two notches formed in its surface and a receiving member that non-rotatably engages the stud member and includes at least two bendable tabs that are bent into the notches to lock the stud against longitudinal motion. The receiving member includes access openings to permit the tabs to be bend back out of the notches so that the stud may be removed. The attachment mechanism is particularly suited for use in connecting steel components such as steel hinges to steel doors.

The securement member includes a hinge having a lower hinge half-coupled to the frame and an upper hinge half coupled to the bed and a hinge pin coupling the hinge halves to allow tilting the upper hinge half and bed with respect to the lower hinge half and frame about a horizontal axis. A swivel plate is attached to the frame adjacent to the rear end of the bed. A swivel pin is positioned in an aperture extending through the swivel plate and lower hinge half to allow swiveling of the bed with respect to the frame about a vertical axis. An intermediate support is attached to the upper surface of the upper hinge half to slidably couple the bed thereto to allow for rolling the bed longitudinally with respect to the intermediate support, hinge and frame.

The insert comprises a block having a projection which extends into a space between the adjusting plate and the mounting plate and a channel which receives an actuating branch of the retaining lever to lock it against movement. The insert is shaped to fit tightly between one surface of the adjusting plate and an outer cylindrical surface of a sleeve spring which biases the lever into its engaging position.

Abstract: A door closer adapter/replacement assembly for converting a doorway equipped with an interiorly mounted door closer unit for usage with an exteriorly mounted door closer unit. The assembly comprises (a) a bushing positionable on an exteriorly protruding spindle of the interiorly mounted door closer unit, and (b) an arm including a tongue affixable to a door fitting the doorway, and a structural portion defining a cavity which is matable with the bushing. The bushing and the structural portion of the arm defining the cavity are constructed and arranged such that the arm is free-spinning on the bushing. The assembly is employable on spindles of both header (overhead) mounted and floor mounted door closer units, and obviates the need for disassembly of the overhead structure or threshold of the doorway, so that the concealed door closer can remain in place while the door is adapted to use with an exteriorly mounted door closer unit.

Abstract: Jointed fitting for a swing door, window or the like, designed in metal or plastic material and the movable frame whereof is partially overlapping the fixed frame, consisting of an angular support and of a compass bearing. The latter are embodied in a symmetric manner in relation to a median horizontal plane, allowing for their reversibility in view of being used either right or left of the movable frame, with this angular support and this compass bearing comprising, furthermore, means designed for fillister and applied fastening to the fixed frame.

Abstract: A wide angle hinge is used for articulation of a furniture door on a furniture unit with a base plate mounted on the furniture unit and a housing mounted on the furniture door; mounted on the base plate is a first gear rack on which a gear is rolled in the longitudinal direction of the hinge and meshes with a second gear rack connected with the housing. The second gear rack is mounted directly on the housing and has a circular arc shape that is concentric with the swivel axis of the door.

Abstract: Furniture hinge whose cabinet-related part is configured as a supporting arm of channel-shaped cross section astride the corresponding mounting plate, the mounting plate being composed of two separable members which are adjustable relative to one another. The bottom mounting plate member can be fastened to the cabinet and the upper plate is releasably joined to the supporting arm by a catch mechanism. The catch mechanism has projections extending from its opposite lateral surfaces in the door end of the upper mounting plate member while at the inner end of the supporting arm more remote from the door at least one resilient tongue having a catch section is formed, which engages a catch recess on the inner end of the upper mounting plate member. The supporting arm straddles the upper mounting plate member at least at its end pointing into the cabinet interior, and is provided in the straddling area with two tongues which are resiliently flexible parallel to the supporting wall surface.

Abstract: A hinge has a hinge arm of U-shaped cross-section connected with a hinge casing by hinge links. The hinge arm is mounted on a mounting plate and at its rear end is pivotally connected thereto. At its fron end, the hinge arm has a female thread into which is screwed a joint adjustment screw which is mounted with its head in a slot of the mounting plate. The slot is open towards the front of the mounting plate. The hinge arm is deformable. The hinge arm and the mounting plate have openings for a screwdriver. The mounting plate has a slot into which extends a pin projecting from a lateral flange of the hinge arm.

Abstract: A hinge, in particular a one-axle hinge, includes a hinge arm mountable to a furniture wall and at least one hinge casing which is on the side of a door. The hinge casing is linked to the hinge arm and an inner coupling member insertable therein. A clamping screw holds the coupling member. The coupling member is lockable in the hinge casing by a locking member which is a spring or has spring acting parts or which is acted upon by a spring.

When a door is mounted to the body of an article of furniture, the hinge arm can be engaged into the mounting plate and then fastened thereto simply by applying pressure. Canting of the hinge arm at the mounting plate is prevented.
