Abstract: Impact resistant retractable safety barriers are disclosed. An apparatus includes a support member, a flexible elongate member to extend and retract through an opening in the support member, and a stop member including a region to interface with the flexible elongate member. The stop member engages with structure of the support member surrounding the opening to limit a distance with which the flexible elongate member extends through the opening. The stop member cooperates with the structure of the support member to maintain a gap between a surface of the region of the stop member and the structure of the support member. A width of the gap is equal to or greater than a thickness of the flexible elongate member.

Abstract: Disclosed are various examples of drapery systems one of which includes a drapery rod operatively connected to a structure by a first bracket and a second bracket. In one nonlimiting embodiment the drapery rod has an exterior surface with a guide structure and a hollow interior having a feature. At least one example drapery system includes a drive coupler and a motor operatively coupled to the drive coupler, wherein the drive coupler is configured to be inserted within the hollow interior of the drapery rod and the drive coupler is configured to engage the feature of the drapery rod, wherein when the motor operates the drive coupler rotates, and rotation of the drive coupler causes rotation of the drapery rod.

Abstract: A barrier apparatus provides a portable perimeter barrier between people, animals, property or equipment and incoming potential hazards. The apparatus functions as a security or safety device which may be operated by one person in multiple conditions, and may be hand operable or motor-driven. The apparatus is capable of providing alternative electric power distribution and lighting. The apparatus comprises a housing, retractable barrier material, and a mechanical system. The apparatus may include lights, an alarm, and a motion detector. The apparatus may be used with or without a vehicle, and may be carried by a vehicle tow hitch. The apparatus is easily operable by extending the rolls of barrier material from the housing. The apparatus may provide a barrier covering a distance of up to about 170 feet across a road or any area to quickly block or direct the flow of traffic or to establish a perimeter.

Abstract: An apparatus for inhibiting cross contamination by airborne droplets between adjacent passengers on an aircraft comprises a case in which a flexible shield can be stored, and from which the shield can be deployed in a vertical, substantially flat configuration, where it is maintained by an extension mechanism. The shield can be coiled within the case when not deployed, and can be retractable by a ratchet and spring when deployment is terminated. An attachment mechanism positions the case between the passengers by fixing the case to a structure such as an arm rest. The extension mechanism can include one or more rigid or semi-rigid rods. The case or shield can include a storage cavity for storage of the rods when not deployed. The attachment mechanism can include an arm rest clamp and/or an insertion member that can pivot downward for insertion between a seat cushion and adjacent structure.

Abstract: An insect protection arrangement for an opening in a mobile vehicle unit. The insect protection arrangement includes a frame arrangement having two guide rails and at least one frame strip which connects the two guide rails. The at least one frame strip has an extendable insect protection screen which is guided movably in the two guide rails. Each of the two guide rails are connected to the at least one frame strip via a rotary joint.

Abstract: A blind assembly and setup configurations for the blind assembly are disclosed. The blind assembly contains two sheets wound together into a roll that are configured for separate outstretching at an angle relative to each other, for being maintained under tension in an outstretched form, and for retraction back into the roll. The end of each sheet contains a handle rod used for handling the sheets and for anchoring to the ground by means of attaching to stakes inserted into the ground using ropes. The roll end of the assembly structure is likewise attached to a stake in the course of setting up the blind assembly. A tie rod provides added support for the structure and is set up at a distance from the sheet rolls to prevent uncontrolled wraparounds of the sheets when the sheets are retracted.

Abstract: A retractable safety gate has a mesh fabric, a retracting mechanism connected with a first side of the mesh fabric, and a fastening mechanism connected with a second side of the mesh fabric. The retracting mechanism includes a bottom bracket, a fastening bracket, a first mounting tube, a locking assembly, and an energy storage assembly. The first mounting tube is rotatably mounted in the bottom bracket and the fastening bracket. The mesh fabric is wound around the first mounting tube. The locking assembly is mounted on the first mounting tube and selectively engages with the fastening bracket. The energy storage assembly is mounted in the first mounting tube and provides a resilient restoring force that drives the first mounting tube to wind the mesh fabric around the first mounting tube. The retractable safety gate rolls the mesh fabric up automatically and is convenient for use.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a body to which the display panel is movably coupled, a first connection part connecting the body to the display panel, a second connection part disposed apart from the first connection part to connect the body to the display panel, and an elastic part elastically connected between the first connection part and the second connection part. Accordingly, the display panel may be enlarged and reduced with only an action of a user's hand by using the elastic part without a separate driving power, and thus, a total size and weight may decrease, thereby increasing the convenience of keeping and movement.

Abstract: The modular, retractable barrier is a room partition. The modular, retractable barrier comprises one or more barrier structures. Each of the one or more barrier structures comprises a plurality of scroll rods and a mesh barrier. The mesh barrier is a scroll like structure. When each of the plurality of scroll rods is separated the mesh barrier is deployed in the space between each of the plurality of scroll rods to form a barricade structure. When the plurality of scroll rods is later brought together, the mesh barrier is retracted. The modular, retractable barrier is a modular structure wherein any first barrier structure selected from the one or more barrier structures can be removably attached to any second barrier structure selected from the one or more barrier structures such that overall span of the barricade formed by the modular, retractable barrier can be increased.

Areas permitting the straightness of the screen panel to be improved include zip attachment of the screen panel to the split tubes, dependence of teeth orientation, reinforcement of the frame structure using struts, clamping of the split tubes to the frame, and modification of the screen panel, individually or in any combination thereof.

Abstract: In order to provide a screen device capable of eliminating a slack arising in a screen pulled out, there is provided a portable screen device, comprising a casing, a roll, a screen, and a screen support part, the casing having an opening, the roll being rotatably placed in the casing, the screen being configured to be wound on the roll during a storage of the screen and to be pulled out in an upward direction from the opening of the casing upon an use of the screen, the screen support part being for supporting the screen in an extension state by a pull out of the screen, wherein a dial mechanism is provided on a side portion of the casing, and wherein the dial mechanism is partially capable of pulling the screen in the extension state back in a different direction from a pull out direction of the screen.

Abstract: A retract gate has an upper roller assembly, a lower roller assembly, an axial tube, a holding pole, and a screen body. The upper roller assembly has a rolling mechanism and a controlling mechanism. The controlling mechanism has a switch and an engaging component, the engaging component selectively sticking the differential crown gear. Two ends of the axial tube are connected with the upper roller assembly and the lower roller assembly. Two ends of the screen body are securely fixed on the holding pole and the axial tube. When the upper roller assembly is turned on, the rolling mechanism is released; when the upper roller assembly is turned off, the rolling mechanism can memorize the maximum length of the screen body and make the screen body not able to be unrolled further. Consequently, the retract gate can restrict babies and pets within a safe area.

Abstract: An integrated comfort item for a vehicle seat. Such comfort items include but are not limited to a blanket, pajamas or onesie stored on a roller that is mounted within an enclosure of the vehicle seat arm. The comfort item such as a blanket may be unrolled by the user when sitting in the vehicle seat. Upon conclusion of the journey, the user may then actuate the spring in the roller and roll the comfort item back onto the roller to store in the vehicle seat arm enclosure for future use.

The rollable display device may include a flexible display panel, a body including a main roller, around which the flexible display panel is wound, and a link drive unit for moving the flexible display panel, and two link assemblies for connecting the link drive unit and the flexible display panel to each other. Each of the link assemblies may include an upper link frame, a lower link frame, a center link connector, and an elastic plate. The upper link frame and the lower link frame may be coupled to the center link connector independently of each other. The elastic plate may allow the lower link frame to operate later than the upper link frame.

Abstract: An umbrella shaft assembly is provided for securing an umbrella to a chair or table. The umbrella shaft assembly includes an elongated shaft having a first end and a second end. A plurality of hinged finger projections are located on the elongated shaft. The finger projections are configured to extend outward and retract inward toward the elongated shaft. Further, an aperture is located on the elongated shaft, wherein a cord extends therethrough. The umbrella shaft assembly can be secured to a chair via securing the cord to a chair frame. Similarly, the umbrella shaft assembly can be secured to a table by extending the finger projections such that the umbrella cannot be hoisted through an umbrella receiving opening of the table. The umbrella shaft assembly further includes a conventional umbrella assembly construction that is large enough to shield a person or persons from the elements encountered outdoors.

The improved collapsible, portable display device, has a housing having a sliding member aligned on the exterior of the housing and sliding along the exterior of said housing between two operating positions, a collapsible screen capable of displaying an image when in an expanded operating position, and multiple collapsible members connected to said screen and connected to said sliding member and said housing, and the collapsible members move said screen between the collapsed and expanded operating positions as said sliding member moves between a first collapsed operating position and a second popped-up position.

Abstract: A cover is provided for covering a gap between a rear seat backrest of a vehicle and a luggage space cover of the vehicle, which cover extends in the transverse direction of the vehicle. The cover has a surface element which can be pulled out of a housing of the luggage space cover. Arranged on the surface element is at least one support element which, when pulled out of the housing, can be moved from a first stable position into a second stable position, wherein in the housing there is arranged at least one forced guide which at least at the output side thereof has a curved configuration so that the support element is forced into the second stable position.

Abstract: A collapsible wall including a support frame and a first series of panels configured to suspend from the support frame with at least one pair of adjacent panels pivotally connected to each other. A second series of panels are configured to suspend from the support frame opposite the first series of panels and include at least one pair of adjacent panels pivotally connected to each other. A bottom sill opposite the support frame is pivotally connected to a bottom portion of the first series of panels and to a bottom portion of the second series of panels. The stand portion is positionable in a deployed position such that the stand portion may support the storage portion on a support surface. A screen is positioned within the housing and the screen is comprised of a flexible material that is capable of electronically displaying an image. A support is hingedly coupled to the housing and the support engages the screen such that the screen is retained in the deployed position. A control circuit is coupled to the housing and the control circuit is electrically coupled to the screen. The control circuit may be placed in communication with an extrinsic electronic device such that the control circuit receives data pertaining to images from the extrinsic electronic device thereby facilitating the screen to display the images.

The retractable unit includes joint members provided at ends of first and second links intersecting each other, and elastic members installed to the respective joint members and supported by the ends of the first and second links.

Abstract: A landscaping device and shield apparatus combination is provided. The landscaping device is powered by an engine and/or motor capable of hurling upward flying debris. The apparatus includes supports, each having an upper end and a lower end. Bases each having a rod insertable up to a bulge into the lower ends of the supports are provided to maintain the supports in a substantially vertical orientation. Also included are: a flexible screen and a retraction mechanism. The retraction mechanism has a construction such so as to provide an automatic locking and automatic retraction assist that a second support may be temporarily locked, and later pulled toward the first support, as desired The landscaping device excludes a stump grinder.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a portable, collapsible enclosure for use with a portable game console or computer for playing video games on a large screen television where the game involves tracking the position and movement of a moving object. The enclosure has a fabric cover and a frame which is movable between a collapsed position whereby the enclosure may be easily stored and an expanded position for playing a game. The fabric cover of the enclosure in the expanded position has an open front, side and top walls and a rear wall. The rear wall is provided as a netting material which is selected to arrest the movement of a moving object projected into the enclosure through the open front, while permitting a user to observe an image displayed on a large screen television placed to the rear or side of the enclosure.

Abstract: A roller blind system for a vehicle for shading a rear window, having a fabric sheet movable between stowed and functioning conditions, with a pull-out profile provided at a distal end thereof and two guide rails located on sides of the sheet, whereby the pull-out profile incorporates two sliding pieces at its opposite ends each engaged with one guide rail. The pull-out profile covers an outlet slot for the sheet. The pull-out profile has a variable length and includes a main segment bonded to the sheet and two movable end segments movable relative to the main segment by a guide. The covering face includes a main section on the main segment and side sections on the end segments. The side sections enter into a receiving pocket enclosed by the main segment when the length of the pull-out profile is reduced.

Abstract: A retractable safety gate has a mounting assembly, a control assembly, a delaying assembly, an operating assembly, a blocking cloth, a grip assembly and a receiving assembly. The control assembly has a controller, a ratchet unit and a spiral spring. The spiral spring is connected between the controller and the ratchet unit. Thus, the controller is pulled back to the original position to be closed by the spiral spring, thereby reducing number of the components such that the retractable safety gate has a simplified structure.

Abstract: A security shade for use in an automotive vehicle. The security shade includes a cassette having a roll tube arranged therein. The roll tube has a shade panel fixed to the roll tube at one end thereof. The security shade also includes a bearing arranged in an end of the roll tube and a spring housing arranged in an end of the cassette. A motor spring is arranged within the spring housing and is axially fixed with relation to the roll tube and the cassette. The security shade also includes an end cap arranged over an end of a cassette. The security shade has the compressible end cap over each end of the roll tube and cassette.

Abstract: A shared space divider provides privacy on surfaces. The shared space divider comprises a hub that is placed on a portion of a surface, and at least one partitioning structure coupled to a portion of the hub. The at least one partitioning structure comprises a separator configured to partition the surface into two or more sections. The separator has a ribbon structure, an accordion structure, or a fan structure. The at least one partitioning structure is configured to extend from and retract into or, alternatively, fold out from and fold into the hub. In some embodiments, the shared space divider comprises at least one container for holding items commonly found on the surface. In other embodiments, the shared space divider comprises a clip for attaching to documents. Yet, in other embodiments, images such as advertisements are displayed on at least one of the separator and the hub.

The holding member also includes at least one fastener adapted to fasten the cassette in the holding member when inserted into the holding member.

Abstract: A mobile tarping system has a framework with a base section and a height adjustable main section connected to a cradle support. A rolled up tarp within the cradle support, can be unrolled and retracted by a spring-loaded roll-out and retraction assembly or a manual crank for covering the open container. The system is separate and independent from the container. Wheels extending from the base section permit the mobile tarping system to be transported between various containers, when a given container is filled with loose debris and must be covered.

Abstract: The portably engaged retractable sun shade includes a clamping means that enables the device to attach to a hand rail of a patio or deck to provide a portable sun shade. A telescoping tube extends from the clamping means to provide a means of supporting a retractable shade. The retractable shade is spring loaded and returns to a retracted state unless held in an extended state via a pivoting hanger engaged atop said telescoping tube. The retractable shade can rotate vertically with respect to the telescoping tube for storage when no longer in use.

Abstract: A barrier for the control of people has a stand (10,11) supporting a housing (12) for a flexible band (14) extensible from the housing through a slot (15) in the side wall thereof. The spool and band are removable through the open upper end of the housing (12) and a tensioning cassette (16) for the spool is engaged with the housing and is drivingly coupled to the spool (13). A spring tensioner (29) acts between an outer wall (26) of the cassette and a drive shaft (30) for the spool. Tension may be applied to the spring (29) by freeing the cassette (16) from the housing (10) while leaving the drive shaft (30) connected to the spool (13) and then rotating the cassette, relative to the housing.

Abstract: One aspect of the invention is directed to a portable privacy device for a stall. The device includes a privacy tape coiled in a housing. The privacy tape is of a size sufficient to bridge at least a portion of a space between a stall door and an adjacent partition panel and is retractable along its length into the housing through an access opening in the housing. The housing has a channel configured to engage at least one of the door or the partition. The channel is defined by first and second surfaces for contacting the upper or lower ends of at least one of a door or a partition. In some embodiments, the channel includes a third surface adjacent the first surface and opposite the second the surface. Aspects of the invention are also directed to methods of improving privacy in a stall.

Abstract: A fabric gate has a ratchet assembly, a delaying assembly and a driving device. The ratchet assembly has a ratchet, a positioning ring and a driven pad. The ratchet has a wheel provide with multiple upper ratchet teeth and multiple lower ratchet teeth. The upper ratchet teeth extend toward a direction opposite to that of the lower ratchet teeth extending. The positioning ring is expandable and has engaging teeth engaging respectively with the ratchet teeth on the ratchet. The driven pad is attached to the top of the positioning ring to expand the positioning ring when the driven pad is rotated by the driving device. The delaying assembly is mounted in the top cap and connected to the ratchet assembly to reduce to the rotating speed of the driven pad.

Abstract: A retractable banner stand includes a canister with an extendable banner having an ad and/or message thereon viewable when the banner is extended. A kit comprised of a pair of end caps with foldable legs and a pole support are releasably engaged to the canister and can be removed without tools. Abstract: A device for correcting skew in roll-up retractable coverings for architectural openings includes a friction device positioned within the head rail for movement between releasably fixed positions and disposed for engagement with the fabric of the covering to regulate the rate at which the fabric is wrapped about a roller in the covering at selected locations along the length of the roller to correct for any inherent skew in the covering.
