Abstract: Disclosed herein is a window covering having adjustable securement mechanisms that are operable to secure at least a portion of the window covering at a certain location once the window covering has been manipulated. As described, the window covering includes a panel and at least one guide coupled to a first side of the panel. The window covering also includes at least one sliding securement mechanism coupled to the guide. The at least one sliding securement mechanism is operative to move along the guide and secure at least a portion of the panel at different positions along the guide.

Abstract: A shade device for an outdoor sport court includes: a first guide; a second guide; a first motorized support and a second motorized support both movably attached to the first and second guides; a flexible panel extending between the first motorized support and the second motorized support; a third guide; a fourth guide; a first motorized drive attached to the first and second guides and movably attached to the third guide; a second motorized drive attached to the first and second guides and movably attached to the fourth guide; and a control unit coupled to the first and second motorized supports and the first and second motorized drives. The control unit is configured to control the first and second motorized supports and the first and second motorized drives to provide shade for a moveable object adjacent an area of the court based on a light level at the moveable object.

Abstract: A roll-up apparatus including a curtain suspended within a room to be divided or partially closed off and a roll member at the bottom edge of the curtain around which the curtain winds and unwinds. The curtain is raised by rolling the curtain up from the bottom around the roll member, and lowered by unrolling the curtain from around the roll member. Belts spaced along the width of the curtain are looped under the curtain wound roll member and windably attached to a motor driven take-up shaft. When wound around the take-up shaft, the belts are pulled upward to effect a rolling of the curtain around the roll member that raises the curtain. The belts are structured, such as by the provision of a coating material, to adhere to the material of the curtain to prevent belt slippage relative to the curtain and to thereby effect a relatively tight curtain winding. Crowned rollers which achieve a self-centering effect on the belts are also provided to cause the belts to wind about themselves on the take-up shaft.

Abstract: This invention is an improvement over my U.S. Pat. No. 4,326,577 for a window screen arrangement comprising a novel roller combination for winding and unwinding the screen or shade element and at the same time positioning of the entire screen assembly in a desired position vertically on a window to provide partial screening in any part of the window while at the same time permitting additional screening provided by the operation of the screen upon a roller. The method of supporting the screen in the window opening comprises a novel arrangement of cords for support and positioning which permit the foregoing without the use of pulleys, springs, counter-weights, hooks, clamps or other positioning devices to hold the screen assembly in any given location by permitting its roller features to function.
