Two opposed track assemblies are arranged on the support structure, sides of the flexible panel and each track assembly being configured so that the sides of the flexible panel can slide within the track assemblies as the flexible panel is retracted and extended. At least one of the track assemblies has a static support that is fixed relative to the support structure and a dynamic support that is displaceable relative to the static support. An adjustment mechanism is operatively connected to the static and dynamic supports to adjust a lateral position of the dynamic support relative to the static support.

As a result, upon impact against the curtain, the retention members (21, 22 or 23) engage the flap walls (40, 52) which engage the curtain (15) and the curtain (15) is maintained in the side rails (14).

    Abstract: The instant invention is an apparatus for maintaining approximately constant tension of a curtain between a drive roller and a storage roller. The rotating reference is a shaft which is affixed to and rotates with a shaft gear. A motor driven gear drives a gear affixed to the drive roller. The gear affixed to the drive roller in turn drives idler gears which in turn drive the shaft gear. Because the motor is electrically actuated and exterior rotatable shafts are not used, the airtightness of the interior of the panel is very reliable. The roller-blind insulated panel combination is practical in use, is economically manufacturable, and can be constructed as a prefabricated unit for standard window or door frames.

A flexible insulating window cover member having a sill closure bar across the bottom thereof is selectively extendable downwardly from the window cover roller assembly so as to cover the window opening. The vertical edge portions of the flexible cover member extend into grooves provided in the track assemblies and are movable therealong as the sill closure bar is moved downwardly to draw the window cover member over the window opening.

The airtight portions comprise at least one central (9) and at least one peripheral (11) airtight portion and the central portion is substantially airtightly compressible between two compression members (2), along at least a portion of its width, whereby the compressed area will define an inflatable part and a substantially deflated part of the inflatable element. Air ducts (6,7) are disposed within the element and are not compressed by the compression means for enabling the air supply to the airtight portions. Feeding the inflatable element from the store (3) is done by supplying air to the central portion (9).

    Abstract: An improved window insulation system is provided which serves to establish a static air panel between the shade and the window pane. The system includes a valance which supports the spring biased shade rod about which the shade is rolled. The valance has a pivoted portion which can be moved away from the shade to facilitate its rolling and to reduce wear on the shade during the rolling operation. When the pivotal portion of the shade is secured in position, it establishes the position of the upper portion of the shade while securing means seal the upright and lower marginal edges of the shade to define the static air panel. To facilitate the rolling operation of the insulated shade, the shade, in one embodiment, includes a plurality of cross seams spaced by preselected distances to increase the shades flexibility.
