Abstract: An improved Air Traffic Control Tower cab window shade system is presented, utilizing a faster motor than in prior art ATCT applications. The present invention's motor operates at 80 rpm and raises the shade material at 9.62 inches per second on a 2.3-inch diameter roller tube. This allows an average 8 foot high shade to fully raise in 10 seconds. The shade is half raised in about 5 seconds. The improved speed is due to a system of rollers attached to an expanding hembar at the bottom end of the shade, providing constant tension to the shade and permitting the shade to be retracted safely at higher speed without risking scratching the cab window glass.

  • Patent number: 8746321
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a rolling protective shutter having an improved stopping mechanism that prevents the shutter from completely rolling up onto the shutter support member, and that is hidden within the shutter housing or the side tracks. The stopping mechanism may include a limit switch operatively connected to a drive motor to detect a disposition of the base slat of the shutter curtain proximate the shutter housing. The limit switch may actuate to turn off the drive motor at an appropriate position to retain the base slat within the side tracks and to prevent damage to the shutter housing due to engagement by the base slat.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relates to a motorized system for moving vertical blinds, curtains, draperies, or other window coverings. Specific embodiments can, optionally, also be manually operated. When motorized, the power supply can be batteries stored or housed in a tube or portion of a shaft, with a spring biased mechanism to assist during removal and/or loading of the batteries. In a specific embodiment, the stop can be triggered by the user to remove one battery at a time, and can allow the user to load batteries in a manner in which the battery or batteries already loaded in the chamber are held in the chamber. A specific embodiment incorporates a drapery tube with a hollow interior, or drapery shaft with one or more hollow portions, to form an enclosure that can house the motor and the power supply, such as batteries. If desired, the motor controls and an optional RF receiver for the motor can also be housed within the tube.

  • Patent number: 8662140
Abstract: A composite pull-chain disc mechanism with brake function for a door operator comprises a torsional spring having de-twisting and twisting sides. The weight of a door curtain always acts on the de-twisting sides, so that the inner diameter of the torsional spring is induced to shrink to brake the rotation of the central shaft of the door operator. If twisting sides bears an external force, the inner diameter of the torsional spring is induced to enlarge to release braking of the central shaft. Furthermore, the composite pull-chain disc mechanism can be adapted to an electric door operator. In the case of detaching an electric motor mechanism during maintenance, the door operator can still be operated to open/close a door in a manual mode through the composite pull-chain disc mechanism.
