  • Publication number: 20140231038
Abstract: A method for reducing the water and energy consumption of a paper machine with the help of a vacuum system and optimization of web solids content. On the paper machine wire section, water is removed with the help of a hybrid vacuum system serving first the vacuum locations needing a lower vacuum level and then those requiring a higher vacuum level in such a fashion that the hybrid vacuum system removes water on different sections of the paper machine at the vacuum levels rendering the Individually maximized energy efficiency. Additionally the solids content on the wire section is optimized with fee help of an unfelted and smooth press roll adapted above the wire suction roll.

  • Publication number: 20130255896
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of paper and relates to a sheet including a high-definition high-contrast multitone watermark having areas of pronounced brightness. Such watermark is particularly obtained by means of a part (4) including a surface (5) having a raised area and perforations (6). The perforations (6) are such that making the cross-section thereof, at a given distance from the draining surface, directly depends on said distance. The present invention also relates to the method for manufacturing said part that is used for forming one such watermark, to the part itself, and to the use of said part when forming a watermark.

Abstract: A former for producing a tissue web and a process of making a tissue web using the former. The former includes a forming element, an inner dewatering belt, and an outer dewatering belt. The inner and outer belts converge to form a stock inlet nip. The inner and outer belts are guided over the forming element and thereafter separating from one another in the area of a separation point. At least one suction element is positioned adjacent the inner belt on a side which is opposite the outer belt. Alternatively, a conditioning device is positioned adjacent the outer belt. The process includes forming the tissue web in the area of the forming element, guiding the inner and outer belts around the forming element, and separating the inner and outer belts in the area of the separation point. Alternatively, the process includes conditioning the outer belt.
