  • Patent number: 8343314
Abstract: A pulp feeder for used paper recycling apparatus being installed in a room of a small shop or the like, friendly to the environment, low in running cost, and capable of maintaining a high confidentiality is presented. The pulp feeder includes a partition member disposed slidably on the downside of a running endless mesh belt, and a paper making frame body disposed slidably on the upside of the mesh belt, and an overflow gate is provided in the paper making frame body for keeping constant the water level of the collected pulp suspension, and the pulp suspension supplied in the paper making frame body is collected up to a specific water level defined by the overflow gate, and is uniformly diffused and supplied on the upside of the running mesh belt. Accordingly, if the supply water volume of pulp suspension fluctuates, the water level of pulp suspension staying in the paper making frame body is always kept constant, and the weight of the wet paper manufactured on the mesh belt is stabilized.

  • Patent number: 6126786
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating turbulence in stock to deflocculate the stock in an open surface forming section of a paper making machine comprises a dewatering box providing vacuum assisted drainage and which has a set of dewatering elements that impart turbulence into relatively thick stock layers carried at machine operating speeds of equal up to about 400 m/min, for the production of paper products having a basis weight generally in excess of about 160 gsm. Each set of elements includes a lead-in element, at least one intermediate element, and a trailing element. The path of the forming fabric is deflected downwardly as it passes over the intermediate elements, which are inclined at an angle of from about 0.25.degree. to about 10.degree. from a plane defined by forming fabric supporting surfaces on the lead-in and riser elements. This vertical movement initiates turbulence and agitation in the stock, which acts both to deflocculate the stock and to diminish the possibility of sheet sealing.

  • Patent number: 5643417
Abstract: In a method for forming a sheet from a fiber-water suspension, the fiber-water suspension is supplied on a traveling bottom wire at a first zone thereof to dewater the fiber-water suspension. Subsequently, the suspension is introduced between the bottom wire at a second zone and a top wire, and dewatering is effected. The sheet is further caused to travel around a sheet-forming roll while keeping the sheet in contact therewith by the bottom wire at a third zone thereof, and reformation of the sheet is carried out. Finally, the sheet on the bottom wire is caused to travel up to a fourth zone thereof to effect a further dewatering with a fourth dewatering device disposed adjacent to the bottom wire at the fourth zone thereof, whereby a final stage of sheet formation is carried out. An apparatus for carrying out the above method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4565603
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a paper web from a fiber suspension are disclosed. These include injecting a fiber suspension stream through a slice opening onto the upper surface of a travelling paper web-forming surface, maintaining that surface free of support for a predetermined distance downstream of the slice opening, maintaining a flexible lip near the upper surface of the web-forming surface for a portion of that predetermined distance, and applying a vacuum to the lower surface of the web-forming surface throughout the predetermined distance. In this manner, both the method and apparatus can produce a paper web and substantially dewater the fiber suspension within the space between the flexible lip and the web-forming suspension and substantially reduce disturbances during formation of the web and throughout the predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 4294657
Abstract: The apparatus for manufacturing the fiberboard is in the form of two vertically opposed endless conveyors upon each of which a fiber layer is formed. Each conveyor has a slanted running portion as a part thereof. A suction box is disposed along the inner surface of each of the slanted running portions so that a fiber layer producing section is formed in each slanted portion. A passage is formed between the conveyors to direct a slurry flow of fibers along each conveyor. The relative speeds of the slurry flow through the passage along the surface of the conveyors is adjusted to be different than the running speed of the conveyors; a supply duct for the slurry flow is disposed in the center of said passage and has an outlet near the upper ends of the fiber layer forming sections. The two layers simultaneously formed can be placed upon each other to form a single layer of fiberboard.

  • Patent number: 4294655
Abstract: A machine and method of forming fiberglass mats. Chopped glass fibers are mixed with water in a slurry and a movable screen is passed, generally upwardly, through a slurry. As the screen is moved, its surface is uniformly coated with the glass fibers in a uniformly increasing depth, dependent upon the length of travel of the screen through the slurry. Longitudinally oriented and randomly oriented continuous strands are projected onto the fibers captured on the screen at different locations in order to provide the resultant mat with tear strength in all directions. The screen passes over a vacuum for removal of most of the water from the workpiece; subsequently, a binder is added to the workpiece and the continuous mat is passed through an oven for curing of the binder. The mat is then wound upon a spool for later transport to a location in which the mat can be processed into a final product.
