Including Axial Feeding Trough Patents (Class 164/299)
  • Patent number: 10427214
Abstract: A water-cooled centrifugal pipe casting machine includes a sector ladle tilting system, a pouring runner, a pipe mold and a pipe removing device. The pipe mold is provided to a travel system, and rotation of the pipe mold is controlled by a pipe mold rotating system. By using a servo motor driving the sector ladle tilting system, by using a parallel four-bar linkage structure tilting a sector ladle, and by using a variable frequency motor controlling the movements of a rack and a gear of a travel driving system, a constant amount of hot metal flowing out of the sector ladle per unit time can be ensured and a constant traveling speed of the centrifugal pipe casting machine are achieved. As such, uniformity of the wall thickness of the casting pipes can be ensured, the quality thereof can be improved, and materials required can be saved.

  • Patent number: 9249489
Abstract: A system and method for adjusting dipping time in a continuous steel pipe manufacturing line. The system manufactures a steel pipe of which inner and outer faces or any one face thereof is subjected to molten metal-plating from a steel sheet in a continuous manufacturing line, and includes an inner-face plating performing part for molten metal-plating by pouring molten metal to the upper side of the steel sheet corresponding to the inner face of the steel pipe, a steel pipe forming part that obtains a continuous steel pipe by continuously cold-forming the steel sheet subjected to the inner-face plating into a tubular shape and seam-welding a longitudinal end face joint portion of the steel sheet formed in the steel pipe, and an outer-face plating performing part for molten metal-plating by dipping the outer face of the steel pipe into the molten metal, in which a dipping length of the molten metal is adjusted in the inner-face plating performing part and/or the outer-face plating performing part.

  • Patent number: 4632172
Abstract: In the centrifugal casting of iron pipes, molten metal from a tilt ladle 13 is supplied to an inclined pour trough or channel 14 whose outlet nose 16 is relatively axially movable within a rotating mold 3. To compensate for the reduction in the hydrostatic thrust of the molten metal in the pour channel when the metal supply is terminated near the end of the casting operation, the inclination of the channel 14 is gradually increased to thereby maintain a constant flow rate at the nose 16. Further, to compensate for the reduction of the height of fall due to the tilting of the pour channel and the attendant lowering of the downwardly sloping nose, the point of articulation 22 of the channel 14 within the mold is also raised in synchronism with the increased tilting of the channel.

  • Patent number: 4257474
Abstract: This support is adapted to support pouring spouts at the upstream end of two pouring channels which are mounted on a common carriage which is movable transversely. It comprises a platform mounted on the movable carriage by a device which is adjustable in height. This device is disposed between the two pouring channels and provided with actuating means including motion direction changing means such as bevel gears. This platform is slidable on two guide pillars carried by the carriage on each side of the device adjustable in height and between the two pouring spouts.

  • Patent number: 4205714
Abstract: This apparatus having two pouring channels comprises a support which is movable in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the mould in synchronism with the carriage which carries the two pouring channels and to the same extent of travel as the carriage so as to support the free end of the two channels when the centrifugal casting machine and the carriage are moved away from each other. The support is rigid with the centrifugal casting machine as concerns movement in translation in a direction parallel to said axis and is provided with transverse shifting means synchronized with the means for shifting the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4034800
Abstract: A plant for producing bimetallic sleeves by pouring molten so called babbitt metal into the space of a sleeve being rotated. The plant comprises a head stock and a tail stock mounted on a bed, the tail stock being slidable along the axis of the sleeve being babbitted, each mounting means for centering and clamping the sleeve that is poured in between them with the help of cones set up on the head and the tail stocks. The tail stock mounts a pouring device wherein the babbitt metal to be poured into the sleeve is delivered by a batcher. The pouring device includes a feed funnel adapted to receive the molten babbitt from the batcher, a pipe enclosed in the axis of the sleeve, a connecting pipe supplying the molten babbitt from the feed funnel into the pipe, and a chute onto which the molten babbitt is delivered from the pipe through an opening provided therein.
