Abstract: A method for producing a printing cylinder or a printing cylinder sleeve includes providing a plurality of cylindrical discs with an essentially cylindrical outside surface and respectively one central opening for positioning the cylindrical discs around a core, and machining the essentially cylindrical outside surfaces so that the cylindrical discs form a printing cylinder surface when mounted on the core. Prior to positioning the cylindrical discs around the core, the method includes machining at least one of the cylindrical discs to form at least one contact surface. The contact surface is machined precisely so that during the installation of the respective cylindrical disc around the core, the contact surface comes to rest parallel against a complementary formed surface of an adjacent element of the printing cylinder or printing cylinder sleeve. The method further includes positioning the cylindrical discs around the core and alternately joining the cylindrical discs.

A carbon core formed into a shape of an external gear is arranged in a thin, long tubular mold of a length equal thereto with a space extending longitudinally therealong. A molten metal material is pressure-injected under a temperature higher than a melting point thereof into the space between the mold and the core. The molten metal material is resolidified by rapid cooling at or above a critical cooling rate thereof together with the mold and the core. After resolidification of the molten metal material, the core is removed by pulverization or dissolution. Along internal gear formed of the resolidified metal material is cut into a plurality of segments of a prescribed length.

The inner separation member is provided with at least one water inlet port and at least one water outlet port. Thus, the inner separation member is made of a nontoxic lead-contained thin copper tube whose lead content is smaller than 0.25% to prevent an excessive lead content from infiltrating into the drinking water by separation of the inner separation member so as to protect a user's safety. In addition, the faucet body has a lower melting point so that the faucet body is formed by casting at a lower temperature, thereby decreasing the cost of fabrication.

Abstract: A cast turbine blade is disclosed and includes an internal cooling passage that passes (e.g., zig-zags or meanders) through the blade from an inlet in the blade root to an outlet in the blade tip. The cooling passage can have a zone at a bend that is at a distance which is remote from the inlet of the cooling passage when the distance from the inlet is measured around the passage, but that is closer to the inlet when the distance from the inlet is measured in a straight line. During casting of the blade, the cooling passage can be defined by a core or cores having a leachable material, the cores being removed after casting by a chemical leaching process. A supplementary passage is also provided for connecting the remote zone to the inlet during the leaching process. The supplementary passage can likewise be defined by a leachable core, or it may be machined into the blade after casting.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device and method for producing metal panels. First a metal melt is produced, then a substrate, which has a lower temperature than the metal melt, is brought into contact with it so that some of the metal melt crystallises on the substrate. The substrate is then moved relative to the metal melt so that a metal foil is formed on the substrate. Finally the metal foil is divided into metal panels. According to the invention the substrate comprises grooves which are used to fit partitions between the panels, as well as grooves which are filled with liquid metal. The latter grooves provide a reinforcement for the metal panels. In addition a pattern of recesses and/or elevations can be provided in the substrate so that the same pattern is formed in the metal foil. The pattern may consist, for example, of parallel grooves which ensure that the surface of the foil is enlarged. In the case of solar cells this results in greater efficiency.
