Axially Rotatable Implement Patents (Class 172/224)
  • Patent number: 5280826
Abstract: A coulter adjusting device for use in a reversible plowing machine having a non-reversible mast frame, a bottom frame secured to the non-reversible mast frame in such a manner as to be rotatable or reversible relative to the non-reversible mast frame, a rotatable shaft for rotating or reversing the bottom frame, plural pairs of bottoms fixed to the bottom frame such that each pair of bottoms is secured to upper and lower sides of the bottom frame respectively, and coulters provided in correspondence with each pair of bottoms, at least one of the coulters being secured to the non-reversible mast frame, includes an adjusting mechanism the position of the coulter secured to the non-reversible mast frame by inclining the coulter on a plane perpendicular to a plowing direction by an angle corresponding to the plowing depth, or by moving the coulter in the plowing width direction by an amount corresponding to the tread of a tractor interlockingly with a reversing operation of the bottom frame.

  • Patent number: 5191941
Abstract: In a plow, particularly a reversible plow, one has aimed at a plow enabling plowing in hard soil affording very heavy resistance against the plow bodies (2), using comparatively small material dimensions and corresponding light weight of the plow. For this purpose, the plow beam (3), at the front end thereof, is pivotally mounted on the plow frame (1) and, somewhat spaced behind the pivot (4), a rotation restricting shear pin (5) is secured to the plow frame (1). The plow beam (3) is coupled to a lever (6) which, spaced from its connection point (7) to the plow beam (3), possibly via a longitudinally adjustable stop member (10), is resting supportingly on an adjacent plow beam portion. The lever (6) is, spaced from its said connection point (7) as well as from said supportingly resting portion/stop member (10), linked to an elastic compliant, resilient damper (11). Additionally, said damper (11) is connected to the plow frame (1) or to an element connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 5127480
Abstract: A rotatable plow that includes a pair of oppositely disposed plow members carried on a plow carrier pivotally carried by a draft beam. The draft beam includes a plow carrier adjustment yoke for changing the angular orientation of the plow frame relative to the ground, and thereby also the plow members. A locking arrangement is provided to permit the plow frame to be locked in a predetermined position to selectively present one of a first and a second second plow and moldboard assembly for conducting plowing operations.

  • Patent number: 4189007
Abstract: A reversible plough comprises a frame member, at least one support member pivotally mounted on the frame member and two cranked plough legs pivotally mounted on the support member, and biassed toward their operative positions, in which during normal ploughing operations the support member is held in its operative position, but when an obstacle is encountered by the plough body and the working plough leg deflected, the support member is permitted to rotate relative to the frame member.

  • Patent number: 4030552
Abstract: In a plow assembly, each plow bottom is supported by an arm mounted pivotally on a beam for movement of the plow bottom between outwardly extending and inwardly retracted positions. The beam and each arm are operatively interconnected by an extensible fluid pressure piston-cylinder unit supplied at one end with fluid under pressure, whereby the plow bottom is urged toward said outwardly extending position. The opposite end of the piston-cylinder unit communicates with a sealed chamber containing air or other compressible gas to prevent entrance into the cylinder of air laden with dust and other debris. In a two-way plow assembly, the arms of each opposed pair are interconnected by the fluid pressure piston-cylinder unit, and abutment means interengages each arm and the beam to limit the degree of outward extension of the plow bottoms.

  • Patent number: 3985187
Abstract: The plow carrying brackets are employed in pairs, each comprising a L-shaped shank pivotally mounted at one of their ends to the drawbar of a plow frame, the interior vertex of the shank engaging a rest which issues sidewardly from the drawbar and secured by a shear pin through the upstanding leg portions of the crossing shanks. The interior vertex of the shanks is an obtuse angle which juxtaposes the plow point of the plow bottom carried by the bracket directly beneath the pivot point of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 3934653
Abstract: A semi-mounted or trailing roll-over plow arranged for maximum control over the plowing components. In such a plow wherein the axis of rotation of the roll-over (rotatable) slow part does not go through the center of gravity of such rotatable plow part, there is provided mechanism by which the rotatable plow part is shifted, and thereby its center of gravity is moved from an operating position substantially in a horizontal direction toward the axis of rotation, for thereby minimizing eccentricity of the rotatable plow part during a subsequent roll-over, or rotation. Hydraulic means are provided for effecting the lifting and/or shifting of the plow components as required for various phases of operation thereof.
