Actuator Electrically Powered Patents (Class 172/453)
  • Patent number: 9555676
Abstract: A hydraulic towing system for use with towing vehicles lacking hydraulics including a hydraulic housing which is mounted to a towing device. The hydraulic housing includes an internal compartment which stores a hydraulic system for controlling the towing device. A reservoir, pump, and control are used to control flow of hydraulic fluid through a plurality of hydraulic conduits. First and second hydraulic conduits are linked with a lift actuator which acts to transition the towing device between a lowered position for use and a raised position for storage. Third and fourth hydraulic conduits are linked with a catch actuator, which acts to mount the towing device to a towed vehicle by extending an engaging member to through a hitch of the towed vehicle. Thus, a self-contained hydraulic system may be provided for a towing device where the towing vehicle does not include its own hydraulic system.

  • Patent number: 8466636
Abstract: An excavator drive system wherein one of a pair of propulsion motors shares one of a pair of inverter power sources with another of a pair of motors dedicated to crowd and hoist motions. A pair of non-volatile bi-state switches, triggered under control of a controller, allow sharing of inverters between hoist and propel 1 motors. Another pair of switches allows inverter sharing between propel 2 and crowd motors. Each pair of switches enables change over and power transfer from one of the paired motors to the other motor. The bi-state switches enable quicker transfer of power between motors than transfer switches employing external motor-powered mechanical transfer linkages. Bi-state transfer switches also maintain transfer coupling status in the event of power failure to the switch actuators, allowing an excavator operator to continue the drive function in operation prior to the switch power failure.

  • Patent number: 7900711
Abstract: An agricultural implement pulled by a traction vehicle is convertible between use and transport configurations. The implement includes a carrier frame coupled to the vehicle via the combination of a hitch and a draft tongue having an aft portion pivotally coupled to the carrier frame and including a generally vertical cornered post rotatable about a vertical pivot axis. A lift frame having plural spaced row units includes an integral center frame section with a sleeve closely engaging and vertically slideable along the cornered post. A first displacement arrangement moves the aft portion of the draft tongue between the use position and a first elevated position for avoiding obstructions and to facilitate turning in a field, while second and third displacement arrangements respectively raise the lift frame higher on the vertical post and rotate the post and lift frame about the vertical axis to a longitudinal position for transport.

  • Patent number: 5988294
Abstract: A cultivator for towing by an ATV comprises a cultivator frame including a plurality of horizontal parallel tool bars and a pair of side rails interconnecting the tool bars to hold the tool bars at right angels to a direction of forward movement of the frame. The middle tool bar is of a length to extend only between the rails. The front tool bar is of intermediate length and extends beyond the rails to leave free ends. The rear tool bar is longest. Each tool bar carries a plurality of S-tines. A pair of ground wheels is mounted on a cross-shaft of the frame at the front tool bar for pivotal movement relative to the frame and including an actuation lever operable by an electric actuator for raising a height of the frame relative to the ground. A hitch pole is connected to the frame by a pair of collars under the front tool bar and the middle tool bar and extends forwardly therefrom to a hitch connection for connecting to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5358055
Abstract: A partial width seeding attachment includes electronically controlled solenoids which activate hydraulic flow control valves connected to the hydraulic cylinders on respective implement sections. Switches in the tractor cab control the rockshaft of one or more selected sections independently of the other sections to raise the openers on the selected section or sections from contact with the soil. An electronically activated flow reversing valve is connected between the source of hydraulic fluid under pressure and the lift cylinder for each of the sections. Activation of a selected valve after the selective control valve on the tractor is moved to the normal field working position pressurizes the side of the cylinder that raises the openers on the section. The remaining cylinders operate normally to maintain preselected down pressure on the other openers. A master raise switch provides implement lift independent of the position of the individual rockshaft control switches.
