    Abstract: A reversible plough has a double acting hydraulic ram connected between the headstock and the reversing spindle to reverse the plough frame from a left handed to a right handed ploughing position, and vice versa. Hydraulically operating mechanism is provided in the headstock both to switch the flow of hydraulic fluid from one to the other end of the double acting ram and to apply additional reversing torque to the spindle at the midway position. The mechanism comprises two hydraulic cylinders acting upon a fork pivotally mounted in the headstock and engaging with a roller spaced radially of the spindle. As the midway position is approached, the roller displaces the fork from a rest position whereupon the fork is rotated by the cylinders to drive the reversing spindle through the midway position. Internal fluid pathways in the two cylinders effect the change of fluid flow to the double acting ram.

    Abstract: A powered machine for moving along the ground surface and producing a succession of holes therein to aerate the soil. The present aerator includes a pair of ground-penetrating members that are moved alternately to engage, penetrate, and disengage the ground's surface. They are moved both vertically and horizontally to "walk" the aerator in a forward path. Each ground-penetrating member is moved through an elliptical circuit in a vertical plane parallel with the forward path. The penetrating members are retained in substantially upright orientation throughout the complete circuit. They are tipped slightly as they engage and leave engagement with the ground to form a uniform upwardly open hole as the aerator is propelled forwardly.

    Abstract: Apparatus for connecting soil engaging tools to mobile agricultural equipment includes a vertically extending frame adapted for connection to the agricultural equipment and a trailing arm pivotally attached to the frame and having soil engaging tools attached rearwardly thereof. An extensile arm arrangement is pivotally attached between an upper portion of the frame and a lower terminal sleeve member. The sleeve member is slidably mounted upon the length of the trailing arm and is selectively fastened to the trailing arm at various positions therealong whereby the depth of the soil engaging tools in the soil is determined. A compression spring is utilized to biasly extend the extensile arm arrangement, and the upper portion of the extensile arm has an over-center locking device whereby the extensile arm may be rapidly lengthened or shortened, and respectively locked in such condition, thereby respectively engaging or disengaging the soil engaging tools in the soil.

Cooperating lock members on the cylinder and wing section engage when the wing section is pivoted from the extended position to an angular position to limit pivotal movement of the wing section independently of the cylinder.

    Abstract: Mechanism operating through a mechanical advantage for rolling over a two-way gang plow comprises a pair of hydraulic cylinders acting through respective short links connected pivotally at one of their ends to their associated cylinders and at their opposite ends pivotally to spaced pivots on a bell crank lever secured to the roll-over shaft of the plow, the spacing between the bell crank lever pivots being less than the spacing between the link pivots. Annular rings surround the roll-over shaft for abutment by the links during operation of the mechanism, providing each link with a fulcrum point which is arranged to augment the output of the associated hydraulic cylinder during the initial portion of its extension.
