Parallel, Pivotally Adjusted Tool Bars Patents (Class 172/634)
  • Patent number: 6688405
Abstract: A simplified, low component harrow attachment includes several clevis-like mounting castings pivotally connected between two identical flat side sheets. A link which pivots the ranks in unison is pinned to the legs of the mounting castings between the sheets by free-floating pins captured between the sheets. The castings can pivot to a retracted position and be secured by a pin for increased clearance between the teeth and the ground during transport. The rear mounting casting has a longer clevis structure than the remainder of the castings and serves as a tine depth stop when a stop pin is inserted through apertures in the sheets.

  • Patent number: 5622229
Abstract: A harrow drawbar assembly is described which includes a harrow frame with depending tines and at least one spring strap. The at least one spring strap has a first end and a second end. The second end of the at least one spring strap is secured to the harrow frame. Means is provided for attaching the first end of the at least one spring strap to a drawbar. The at least one spring strap extends substantially horizontally from the drawbar and serves as means by which the harrow frame is pulled by the drawbar. The at least one spring strap exerts a downward pressure upon the harrow frame to maintain the tines of the harrow frame in contact with a ground surface. This harrow drawbar assembly is intended to restrict vertical movement and generally improve the ability of the harrow to follow ground surface contours.

  • Patent number: 5443127
Abstract: A spring tooth harrow comprising an elongated tool bar having a plurality of harrow sections secured thereto by adjustable mounting brackets to enable the harrow section to be raised or lowered with respect to the draw bar. Each harrow section includes a pair of longitudinally extending arms which are pivotally secured to the mounting brackets and which are urged downwardly with respect thereto by pairs of springs. Fork pipes are rotatably mounted on the arms and extend therebetween and have spring teeth secured thereto. The pipes may be rotatably moved in unison to change the angle of attack of the spring teeth or the forwardmost pipe may be independently rotated with respect to the remaining pipes so that the angle of attack of the forwardmost spring teeth may be varied with respect to the trailing spring teeth.

  • Patent number: 5044449
Abstract: This invention relates to a flex tine soil mulcher comprised of a plurality of spaced parallel elongated support arms which extend in a lateral direction with respect to the travel of the device over a cultivated field. A plurality of elongated spaced soil-engaging tines are secured to each of the support arms and extend downwardly therefrom. An upstanding bracket arm is secured to each of the support arms with the bracket arms being in longitudinal alignment. First and second parallel connecting arms are pivotally secured to the bracket arms whereby the attitude of the tines with respect to a vertical plane can be adjusted by longitudinally moving one of the connecting arms with respect to the other. A stop means interconnects the connecting arms to prevent longitudinal movement of one connecting arm with respect to the other in first longitudinal direction, but permits free longitudinal movement between the connecting arms in an opposite longitudinal direction.
