Tools Relatively Adjustable Horizontally Without Causing Vertical Displacement Patents (Class 172/645)
  • Patent number: 5787993
Abstract: Many openers are mounted on the lateral tool-bar of a farm implement. For crop and fertilizer change, different spacings along the tool-bar are required for the openers. Multi-position tool-mounting structures are provided, for each opener as required. Each has a pivoting arm, which may be locked in one of several positions. The locked-in position of each arm may be changed manually, and independently of the other tools, upon manually releasing a biassed locking pin. Adjustment to cater to the next application is light, quick, simple, and accurate.

  • Patent number: 5394945
Abstract: The machine includes a frame adapted to move along spaced ridges planted with crop plants, frame support runners engaging the furrows between the ridges, a pair of transverse rows of weeding implements carried by the frame for movement along the ridges and furrows, the implements of one row disposed on one side of the plants and the implements of the other row disposed on the other side of the plants. Each row is transversely displaceable by a double acting hydraulic ram relative to the frame. The rams are controlled by an operator supported by the frame in a position to have a direct view of the weeding implements. Each implement is free to move up and down independently of the remaining implements in order to follow the ground contour. The implements of any one row can be raised together out of working position. These weeding implements can be earth working discs and/or thermal weeders.

  • Patent number: 4475601
Abstract: A plow system that includes a plurality of equally spaced plows, each of which is mounted on the inclined beam of the system by a mechanically adjustable mounting structure. The system also has a tail wheel that is associated with the last plow and steering linkage for the tail wheel. The mounting structure includes a generally vertical bore for rotational attachment to the beam and a laterally extending ear located adjacent the beam. A combination of a fastener and tapered shims between the ear and beam provide and maintain the desired furrow widths. The rotation of the plow system to correspond to the desired furrow width in conjunction with the steering linkage automatically positions the tail wheel for this furrow width.

  • Patent number: 4274492
Abstract: A device to provide for easy handling of dual tandem discs and similar farm implements. The device is a framework foldable on a hinge line and having wheels for transportation. The hinge line is longitudinal and provides that when collapsed, the two tandem discs are carried in line with a minimal width and when open allows the discs to be pulled in a side by side conformation to cover two parallel paths.

  • Patent number: 4210212
Abstract: An angularly adjustable bracket structure is provided for mounting tool-carrying standards on the frame of an agricultural implement. The bracket structure includes a bracket having three adjoining vertical faces which are angularly offset from one another and which can be abutted to the frame to adjust the tool between three positions and provide selected widths of cut between the tools. A wedge element is removably insertable between the frame and two faces of the bracket to position the third face in abutment with the frame.

  • Patent number: 4033417
Abstract: A support is connectable with an agricultural machine, and a plurality of agricultural tools is provided which are mounted by mounting elements on the support so that they can be adjusted relative to the support. A single arresting element is provided which arrests all of the tools in their respective positions. The tools have mounting portions extending into a passage in the support and either the passage itself or an auxiliary element in the passage has a wedge face to engage the tool mounting portions.

  • Patent number: 3991831
Abstract: A field drag particularly adapted for use in conjunction with a post-plowing cultivating implement includes a mounting bar section pivotally secured to the frame of the implement and extending in a rearward direction behind the implement. A plurality of spaced, soil-working teeth are secured to the bar section and extend downwardly therefrom and generally toward one end of the bar section so as to form an acute included angle with respect to the bar section. An adjustable spring tension arrangement pulls the bar section resiliently toward the implement thereby urging the teeth into the soil as the drag is pulled across a seedbed to break up and pulverize clods and smaller chunks of earth into loose soil. In a modified form, the teeth may be fastened to the bar section to slant selectively toward one end or the other of the bar section.
