  • Patent number: 6186243
Abstract: A cylinder mounting arrangement for a folding implement includes reversible L-shaped plates supporting an auxiliary tube above a transverse tool supporting beam. The attaching location on the beam can be changed to avoid interference with the desired tool spacing by reversing the plates. The same plates and auxiliary tubes can be used on a number of different implements and with different main frame widths to reduce manufacturing costs and the number of parts that have to be stocked. The reversible plates can be selectively mounted on the main frame with the plates inside or outside of the fore-and-aft tubes connected to the transversely extending tube, depending on the tool placement on the main frame. Therefore, a wide variety of tool spacings can be accommodated in the region under the tube and between the fore-and-aft tubes.

A laterally swingable boom extends rearwardly from the frame and has an upright shaft at its rear end rotatable about an upright axis for suspending a reversible scraper blade whose angularity may be varied as the shaft is rotated. The blade is releasably attached to and tiltable relative to the shaft. All four functions of raising and lowering the frame, swinging the boom, varying the angularity of the blade and tilting the blade are hydraulically controlled. A special four bar linkage coupled with the shaft provides for wide blade angularity adjustment. • Patent number: 4113031
Abstract: The disclosed Power Shift Mechanism is adapted to laterally shift an earth working implement, such as a vertical plow, relative to a tractor or the like. In the disclosed embodiment, the plow is mounted on a slide bracket and the bracket is slideably mounted on a support frame. The shift mechanism includes a fluid operated piston-cylinder connected between the frame and a pivot link pivotally connected to the slide bracket. The pivot link may be rotated by the piston-cylinder to either of two positions and locked in place by releasable connectors. The piston-cylinder will then rotatably shift the pivot link or laterally shift the bracket and the earth working implement. The shift mechanism thus increases the effective stroke of the piston-cylinder and reduces the power requirements of the shift mechanism.

A clamp lever is pivoted on the circle of the motor grader and has a clamp arm which can be turned in a vertical plane against the bottom of the lower support rail with a high mechanical advantage to force the rail against an overlying confining surface; and a single action hydraulic cylinder and piston unit which turns the lever simultaneously presses a clamp shoe against the rear of the upper support rail. The clamps are normally locked by hydraulic pressure on the piston, and released by moving a manually controlled valve to a drain position so that a return spring acting on the clamp shoe can move the shoe and the lever to a release position.
