Tool Assumes Different Position For Opposite Draft Patents (Class 172/712)
  • Patent number: 5183119
Abstract: An anti-snag plowing system suitable for clearing mines in the Middle East is disclosed. Advantageously, the plowing system has also been found to be an efficient and effective soil conditioner, making it a useful farming tool as well. The plowing system comprises several digging-knife units, or plows, and a harrow. Both are attached in tandem to a chain matrix, which is pulled with either a helicopter or tractor. The digging-knife units rotate if the digging-knives hit an immovable snag. The harrow is covered with a chain blanket, and may have magnetic or sonic wave mine triggers if the system is used for clearing mines. A symmetrical embodiment is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4723608
Abstract: A depth sensing skid arrangement for an implement including a spring steel depth skid connected to a shank which in turn is pivotally connected to a shank support bracket including a spring trip arrangement which permits backing of the implement without damage to the skid or shank. The shank support bracket in turn is connected to a transverse beam operably connected to valve control structure for operating a hydraulic cylinder to maintain a preselected depth of penetration of earth-working tools mounted on the frame. To provide an averaging effect, two resilient depth skids are transversely spaced on the beam.

  • Patent number: 4601347
Abstract: A direction of movement sensing apparatus is shiftably supported from the wheel track filling structure of a wheeled support tower for an irrigation pipe and is operative to shift between a first inoperative position assumed thereby when the tower is moving in a forward direction toward a second operative position relative to the wheel track filling structure when the tower is moved rearwardly over the ground. Connecting structure is provided and operatively connected between the direction sensing apparatus, the wheel track filling structure and the tower for raising the wheel track filling structure responsive to movement of the sensing apparatus to the second operative position thereof and thus enabling the tower to move rearwardly without damage to the wheel track filling structure.

  • Patent number: 4596113
Abstract: A rake having independently pivotal tines which have eccentric portions designed so that the rake moves through the soil on edge upon displacement of the support in one direction and moves through the ground broadside upon displacement of the rake through the ground in an opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4252198
Abstract: A support member for stationary support from a tractor forward of a ground wheel thereof and an elongated front to rear extending mount has its front end supported from the support member for pivotal movement of the mount between a predetermined rearwardly and downwardly inclined operative position with the rear end at an elevation lower than the support member and a raised inoperative position with the rear end elevated above the aforementioned operative position. An elongated inclined ground engaging and levelling member has its upper end oscillatably supported from the rear end of the mount for free oscillation relative to the mount between a first operative ground engaging limit position with the inclined member rearwardly and downwardly inclined and a second limit position with the inclined member similarly forwardly and downwardly inclined.
