Tool Mounted For Lateral Shifting Patents (Class 172/98)
  • Patent number: 6907874
Abstract: A machine for cutting holes in concrete slabs comprises a connector adapted to be secured to an adapter of a front-end loader. Secured to the connector is a first frame structure that includes an elongated tube and a support foot for engaging the surface of a concrete slab and supporting the first frame structure. Confined within the elongated tube of the first frame structure is a beam that is slidable back and forth therein. One end portion of the beam extends from the elongated tube. A second foot structure extends downwardly from the one end portion of the beam to where it may engage the surface of the concrete slab. Secured directly or indirectly to the elongated beam is a concrete hole cutting saw unit that includes a drum type concrete saw. Interconnected between the beam and the first frame structure is a hydraulic cylinder that is operative to move the elongated beam and saw cutting unit back and forth between a retracted and extended position.

  • Patent number: 5394945
Abstract: The machine includes a frame adapted to move along spaced ridges planted with crop plants, frame support runners engaging the furrows between the ridges, a pair of transverse rows of weeding implements carried by the frame for movement along the ridges and furrows, the implements of one row disposed on one side of the plants and the implements of the other row disposed on the other side of the plants. Each row is transversely displaceable by a double acting hydraulic ram relative to the frame. The rams are controlled by an operator supported by the frame in a position to have a direct view of the weeding implements. Each implement is free to move up and down independently of the remaining implements in order to follow the ground contour. The implements of any one row can be raised together out of working position. These weeding implements can be earth working discs and/or thermal weeders.

  • Patent number: 5303662
Abstract: A minimum tillage farm implement capable of being used for plowing, cultivating, planting and insecticide and herbicide and fertilizer application, which includes a tool bar frame having three parallel spaced apart laterally positioned tool bars held together by detachable interconnecting frame members. Coulters, chisel plows and discing pairs are mounted in series to the front tool bar. Variable width rototillers are attached to the middle tool bar and planters are attached to the rear tool bar, both serially alligned with the discing pairs. The coulters, chisel plows, discs and rototillers prepare a fine seed bed, even in stalks and stubble, to allow beneficial planting of row crop seeds by the planters. In a second mode the front and rear tool bars are detached leaving only the middle tool bar with rototillers, which can be adjusted for width and position to perform as cultivators of the areas between adjacent seed beds.

  • Patent number: 5240085
Abstract: A quick coupler for mounting a variety of implements to a vehicle, such as a lawn and garden tractor, is provided. The coupler easily mounts on the vehicle and receives powered or non-powered implements. The coupler includes pivot structure and hydraulic actuators to allow it swinging movement about a horizontal axis or the implement angling movement about a vertical axis. Interference between the coupler structure and drive line of the vehicle is eliminated as the coupler or implement is swung about their respective axes by positioning the angling cylinder below the PTO drive line and locating it between two coupler frame plates.

  • Patent number: 4936391
Abstract: A rotary tiller device for tilling around trees and other similar obstacles comprises a rotary tilling head with a plurality of tines extending slightly outwardly, downwardly and forwardly from a support which rotates around a vertical axis of the head. A central plate rests upon the ground and defines a tilling depth of the tines. A cover prevents the support from damaging the tree. A mounting system for mounting the unit on the belly of a yard tractor includes a pair of rails mounted in place of the removed belly mower and a hydraulic fluid reservoir tank which slides into position on the rails and defines a support for the tiller head. A linkage between the tank and the tiller head includes a six-bar lever system mounted upon a pivotal plate.

  • Patent number: 4936390
Abstract: A three-point hitch mounted in-row tiller has a conventional three-point hitch mounted frame member with an outrigger arm pivotally mounted to the frame member in a manner that accommodates pivotal movement of the outrigger in relation to the frame member about two orthogonal axes. Pivotal movement about one of the axes causes tilting of a working tool mounted on the outrigger arm, and pivotal movement about the other axis causes vertical lifting and depth control of the working tool. Various working tool embodiments, including several with flexible teeth, and a mechanical/hydraulic sensor apparatus are also included.

  • Patent number: 4869056
Abstract: The invention provides a mower attachment for a lawn or garden tractor carried on the tractor for movement between transport and operating positions. An articulated boom structure is guidably supported for up and down pivotal movement to provide for a predetermined substantially horizontal low path of movement for a mower unit at the free end of the boom structure, and for utilization of the weight of the mower unit in extending the boom structure during pivotal movement thereof. Extension of the boom structure is yieldably resisted by a spring unit which also functions to provide a floating action of the mower unit in following the ground contour in a mowing operation.
