Abstract: A powered driver and methods are disclosed, the driver including a head having a gapped jaw and housing a motor driven drive transfer assembly for operating a rotatable split socket engageable at a threaded connector. A reaction unit is movably maintained through the head, and a probe is associated with the reaction unit. The methods of this invention include setting a selected rotational limitation at the driver relating to fitting characteristics, operating the driver to cause relative rotation of a connector nut located in the socket and connector body engaged by the reaction unit. One of a plurality of operational modes for driver operations is selected and relative movement of the head and reaction unit are monitored during driver operation. The driver is controlled so that driver operation ceases when a selected combination of events related to operational mode selected and at least one of rotational limitation setting, monitored relative movement or driver operation occurs.

  • Patent number: 7564210
Abstract: A driver for an inflatable rotating exhibit is mounted inside an inflatable rotating exhibit having a transparent inflatable body and a rotating body and has a rotating assembly and a reverse-rotation preventer. The rotating assembly connects to and rotates the rotating body, has a synchronous motor. The synchronous motor rotates in a direction and has a shaft. The shaft is driven by the synchronous motor and rotates the rotating body. However, the synchronous motor will reverse its rotation when the rotating body encounters even temporary resistance while rotating. The reverse-rotation preventer applies a resistance when the rotating body rotates in the wrong direction to make the synchronous motor reverse rotation again to the desired direction. So the reverse-rotation preventer ensures that the rotating inflatable exhibit rotates in the desired direction.

  • Publication number: 20090173510
Abstract: A clutch arrangement for use in a power tool having a multi-speed transmission assembly. The clutch arrangement includes a clutch member and a follower member. The clutch member is coupled to a member of the transmission assembly that is proximate the torsional input of the transmission assembly and which must be in a non-rotating position to permit the transmission assembly to perform a torque multiplication operation. The follower member is biased into engagement with the clutch member to inhibit relative rotation therebetween. As the clutch member and the transmission member are coupled to one another, the transmission assembly is able to perform a torque multiplication operation. When, however, the torsion that is exerted onto the clutch member is sufficient to overcome the frictional engagement between the follower and clutch members, the clutch member, and the transmission member, rotate, thereby inhibiting the capability of the transmission to continue to perform the torque multiplication operation.

Abstract: The invention relates to a handheld tool, in particular a handheld saw, with an electric drive motor (12), a serially switched gearbox (13), and a movement converter (14) that converts the driven movement of the gearbox (13) into an axial to-and-fro movement of a lifting element (15) for driving a tool (16), in particular a saw blade, inside a housing (11). The gearbox (13) and the movement converter (14) are combined into a gear unit (17). The gear unit (17) is within a robust, bending- and deformation-resistant gear housing (40), which is in turn inside the housing (11). The housing (11) is made of flexible plastic.

Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a screw fastening machine for reliably switching and changing a driving force transmitting path with the seating on a work as a reference. According to the screw fastening machine in which a first pulley is connected to a first driving mechanism for applying high speed low torque drive to a drive shaft, a second pulley is fixed in an integrally rotatable manner to a transmission shaft for connecting the drive shaft, and an endless belt is interposed between the pulleys to obtain a configuration for high speed low torque drive, a second driving mechanism for low speed high torque drive is arranged on an extension of the transmission shaft, and the second driving mechanism performs the drive until a final fastening torque is reached when a screw component is seated on the work and the stall state is achieved, the final fastening torque is always reliably obtained and the work time is reduced without waste.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved technique for preventing leakage of lubricant from an accommodating space that houses a driving mechanism, while regulating the internal pressure of the accommodating space in a power tool. A representative power tool includes a power tool body, a tool bit, a driving mechanism, a lubricant, an accommodating space, a passage and a lubricant leakage preventing region. The accommodating space is disposed in the body to house the driving mechanism and is hermetically sealed. The passage has an accommodating space side opening and an outside opening. The passage extends, starting from the accommodating space side opening, in a direction away from the outside opening. Then, the passage turns around and extends toward the outside opening. Further, the lubricant leakage preventing region is provided with the passage to prevent the lubricant from leaking from the inside to the outside of the accommodating space.

The hedge trimmer includes a machine body, a handle rotatably attached to the machine body, a throttle lever provided in the handle, a locking mechanism for preventing the handle from rotating relative to the machine body, and an unlocking member for unlocking the locking mechanism from the machine body. The unlocking of the locking mechanism from the machine body is effected by a slide movement of the unlocking member towards a rear part of the handle. When unlocking the locking mechanism from the machine body, the unlocking member surrounds the throttle lever so that the throttle lever can be inoperable with the result that the throttle lever is prevented from being erroneously operated during the rotational operation of the handle.

Abstract: A planetary gearbox for a power tool has a planetary carrier and a rotatable sleeve with sun wheel toothing arranged centrally on the planetary carrier. The sleeve has a radial section with outer toothing. Planet wheels are positioned between planetary carrier and radial section and mesh with the sun wheel toothing. A switching ring gear surrounds the planet wheels and has an inner toothing meshing with the planet wheels. The switching ring gear is axiallay moveable on the planet wheels between first and second end positions for switching a transmission ratio. In the second end position the switching ring gear engages the outer toothing of the radial section. A synchronization disk, rotating with the rotary sleeve, is positioned between planet wheels and radial section and acts directly or indirectly by friction on the switching ring gear when the latter is moved from the first into the second end position.

Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a technique that contributes to increased operability in changing the rotational speed of a spindle in a power tool b which the rotational speed of the spindle can be changed in three levels by utilizing a planetary gear mechanism. A representative power tool is characterized in that the third gear position in which the spindle is rotated at the third speed is located in an intermediate position in the sliding direction of the speed changing part The first speed change position in which the spindle is rotated at the first speed is located on one side of the third speed change position, and the second speed change position in which the spindle is rotated at the second speed is located on the other side of the third speed change position. Therefore, during processing operation by using the power tool, shifting operation between the first and third speeds which is frequently performed can be done without the need to go through the second speed area each time.
