  • Patent number: 6107567
Abstract: A water resistant conduit box has a main box portion with open ends capped by respective cover plates. The main box portion has a perimeter flange structure extending outwardly around the perimeter of one open end. One end plate is removably attached to the main box portion such that a perimeter lip thereof extends about the flange structure. The main box portion has a perimeter seat structure integrally extending about the second open end. The seat structure is configured to create a recessed seat to which another end plate is removably attached. This end plate may itself define a recessed seat in which a mounting flange of the motor housing is received. Due to its construction, the conduit box may be "rotated" into a variety of orientations while still retaining desired water resistance all around.

  • Patent number: 6046405
Abstract: A pop-up electrical outlet assembly has a flush surface mounted bezel or flange with an opening defined in it. To one side of the bezel opening is a hinged cover. Located beneath the cover is an electrical box. The electrical box is mounted to the same side of the bezel opening with a supplemental hinge. The hinge allows the electrical box to pop-up when the cover is lifted from its closed position. The receptacle is held in position with a spring catch. The electrical box is effectively isolated from any water which may be splashed up against the bezel both during use of the receptacle and when it is not in use.

  • Patent number: 5957465
Abstract: A PCI card is inserted through an I/O opening in a computer panel. On one edge of the card is a cover from one end of which projects a tab. A resilient gasket is attached to the panel to create a flexible EMC seal around the opening. Preferably the gasket is formed of tin-plated beryllium copper. The gasket has alternate staggered spring fingers oriented opposite to the direction of insertion of the PCI card. To retain the gasket the panel is formed with slots at either end and an outward struck projection at the middle. The gasket is formed with a tongue at either end to be inserted in one of the slots and a punched-out opening to receive the projection.

  • Patent number: 5880400
Abstract: In a metal housing of the "Flameproof Enclosure" ignition protection type, one part of the housing is provided at the parting plane with a rib and the other housing part is provided with a groove complementary thereto. The cross-sectional dimensions of the groove are larger than the cross-sectional dimensions of the rib. The gap-like space obtained thereby is filled with a coating which adheres integrally either to the rib or to the walls of the groove. This gives rise, between the coating and the other part to which it does not adhere integrally, to a gap which meets the requirement placed on an "ex-gap" of a flameproof housing.

  • Patent number: 5650591
Abstract: This invention aims to provide a waterproof casing which can keep its waterproof function under a great change of temperature. In the waterproof casing, a lid (20) which covers an opening in a body (10) is provided with a pipe (24) which intercommunicates an interior and an exterior of the casing. A porous waterproof filter (25) closes a port (24a) in the pipe (24). Air in the body (10) is expanded and contracted under changes in temperature. However, only air can pass through the filter (25) into and out of the body (10) with water being precluded, thereby waterproofing the interior of the casing.

  • Patent number: 5380956
Abstract: A liquid cooling module for semiconductor chips is disclosed. The module includes a plurality of substrates, each containing at least one chip. The substrates are arranged in the module so that when coolant flows through the module, the coolant is exposed to the top and bottom surfaces of the chips. A gasket is used between each substrate. The gasket is made if a Z-axis elastromeric material that is impervious to liquid and therefore directs the flow of the coolant in the module and makes the module liquid tight. The material also is conductive in the Z direction, but not the X or Y direction, thereby making electrical communication between the chips on different substrate levels possible. The module is intended to be attached to a circuit board, thus simplifying the layout of liquid cooled chips on the board.

  • Patent number: 4703234
Abstract: With an accelerator for accelerating an electron beam by a voltage of about 400 KV having a stability of 10.sup.-6, it is difficult to use a flexible, insulated cable to feed the output from a power supply to an electron beam and an accelerating tube. Accordingly, the present invention employs a rodlike connector instead of such an insulated cable. A guide means is provided to permit the movement of a power supply column in the direction of the axis of the connector. This facilitates cleaning or otherwise maintaining the power supply column, the electron gun, and the accelerating tube.
