Frequency Changes Or Pulse Counts Patents (Class 177/210FP)
  • Patent number: 4212361
Abstract: Conventional electrical scales having independent weighing channels for a reference weight and the actual load with subsequent division of the resulting load signal by the reference signal to furnish the final output cannot furnish a final output signal independent of accelerating disturbances in a large critical frequency region, since changes in load change the dynamic behavior of the load channel. To substantially decrease variations in the final output signal due to such accelerating disturbances, the load signal is additionally coupled to the reference channel by means of at least one frequency-dependent network.

  • Patent number: 4075887
Abstract: A force and mass meter using two transversally vibrating preloaded strings as the force sensitive members. The two strings are placed in a transverse magnetic field and are caused to vibrate by means of an exciting current flowing across them which is delivered by one exciter each. The exciters consist of a metering bridge, and an operational amplifier deriving the exciting current from the error signal measured across the bridge. Mutual interference of the two exciters is drastically reduced, when the point of common potential of the two exciters is connected with at least one conductor to each of the exciters.

  • Patent number: 4063604
Abstract: Highly accurate and versatile computing scale which is particularly suitable for postal use. The platform of the scale is mounted on and supported by a single load cell in a system requiring no levers, pivots or other moving parts. Weight readings are averaged on a moving average basis, and in one preferred embodiment the scale has an accuracy on the order of 1/32 ounce over a range of 70 pounds. With no load on the scale, any drift is cancelled by increasing or decreasing the net weight reading in small increments during successive counting cycles to maintain an accurate zero reference. The scale includes a keyboard through which a postal clerk can enter information about the destination and type of service desired, and a zip code to postal zone converter is included for automatically determining the postal zone from the zip code. Digital displays indicate the weight and postage to both the clerk and customer.

  • Patent number: 4050530
Abstract: A method and an apparatus is disclosed for measuring weighing and/or mass of an object. The object to be measured is subjected to an input frequency signal supplied to a piezoelectric crystal. Another piezoelectric crystal supporting the object is caused to vibrate in response to the input frequency signal and the mass and/or weight of the supported object. This second vibrating piezoelectric crystal will then produce a frequency output signal, whose amplitude is a function of the mass (and/or weight) of the object being measured. The frequency of the input and the output signals are substantially the same.

  • Patent number: 4015677
Abstract: A patient weighing system for automatically providing a visual display of stantaneous patient weight includes a bed assembly for receiving the patient which is supported by weight responsive means producing analog signals as a function of instantaneous total weight. The analog signals are converted to commensurate digital signals. A first storage register stores the digital signal representative of the weight of the bed assembly without the patient. A second storage register stores the digital signals representative of the total weight of the bed assembly including the patient. A difference digital signal is developed which is representative of the difference between the digital signals stored in the first and second storage registers, providing a net or remainder digital signal which is a function of patient weight.
