  • Patent number: 10597005
Abstract: An anti-tip device for an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) having a T-shaped first support member formed by a first section and a second section with opposing left and right ends. A trailing end of the first section mounts between the ends of the second section. A leading end of the first section removably connects to the rear end of the ATV. A ground contact member is located on the T-shaped first support member and includes a bottom that is spaced away from the ground surface when front and rear wheels of the ATV are in contact with the ground surface. The ground contact member contacts the ground surface when the front wheel rotates about the rear wheel and away from the ground surface in order to prevent rotation that would cause the front wheel of the ATV to tip backwards over the rear wheel.

  • Patent number: 8478470
Abstract: A drivetrain system for a mobile machine is disclosed. The drivetrain system may have an engine, a generator driven by the engine to generate electric power, and a traction motor driven by the electric power from the generator. The drivetrain system may also have a controller in communication with the engine, the generator, and the traction motor. The controller may be configured to determine a change in loading on the traction motor, and determine a change in fueling of the engine that will be required to accommodate the change in loading on the traction motor. The controller may also be configured to selectively rate-limit the change in fueling, and implement the rate-limited change in fueling prior to transmission of the change in loading on the traction motor to the engine.

  • Patent number: 4754832
Abstract: A single ski is disclosed for central mounting under a four wheel vehicle, preferably a vehicle having four wheel drive. This single ski is mounted to the underside of the vehicle and includes a jacking mechanism for raising and lowering the ski in parallel relation with respect to the snow covered ground. The single ski extends longitudinally of the vehicle, centrally between the wheels on the left side of the vehicle and the wheels on the right side of the vehicle. The length and width of the ski is sufficient to remove substantially equal weight from both the front and rear tires of the vehicle. The surface area of the ski is sufficient to maintain the depth of the ski at a level no lower than the lowest point of the tires in soft or powder snow. In operation, the ski is lowered a sufficient distance to remove weight evenly from the wheels of the vehicle to an extent that the tires no longer accumulate a blocking drift of snow in their path of advance.
