  • Publication number: 20110100731
Abstract: The invention is a method used to generate an adequate electrical power to charge a plurality of storage batteries driving a perpetual, fuel-free electric vehicle or alike. The batteries supply adequate power to at least one electric motor to propel the vehicle and supply electricity to all other vehicle instruments such as lights, wipers, defogger, etc. Two alternative, green energy sources are used to continuously charge the batteries: solar energy generated from solar panels covering every and all possible areas of the vehicle's exterior surface and wind energy generated by one or more electric generators driven by one or more wind turbines mounted within the vehicle and placed under its exterior surface. All or most front, top and side wind streams, surrounding the vehicle, are channeled through air passages.

Abstract: A useful system for our transportation needs must be in concert with the ecological and economical needs of the future. The vehicle concept considers all the constrains imposed by battery materials, oil and electric energy availability and production capacity, electric grid power capability and will make transportation cheaper faster and more robust than the current system. The multi-feature vehicle is modular in design separating and placing optimally the functional modules so that many variations are easily possible allowing the range, carrying capacity and multi-modal transportation to be optimized. The multi modal transportation feature is a surrogate for the lack of battery capacity to cover the individual needs for transportation avoiding the need for large capital cost for large batteries and their maintenance. The vehicle may serve as backup power source during blackouts and uses own modular compactable solar energy harvesting devices.

The conversion circuit includes a DC bus and various converters (such as DC/DC, bi-directional DC/DC, bi-directional AC/DC converter, and inverter). The power flow sensor detects power flow received in the input ports and feeds the power to the conversion circuit for conversion. The solar panel provides electrical power from solar power generation to the conversion device, which after carrying out conversion, supplies the power through the output ports to the vehicle load and the vehicle battery.

  • Patent number: 7641005
Abstract: A wind-powered pneumatic engine including one or more impeller chambers and one or more impellers disposed in the impeller chambers is provided. One or more air inlets for receiving external wind resistance airflow are disposed on the impeller chambers, and the external wind resistance airflow entering the air inlets drives the impellers to operate to generate power output. The wind-powered pneumatic engine further includes an air-jet system for jetting HPCA into the impeller chambers, and the internal high-pressure compressed air jetted by the air-jet system in conjunction with the external wind resistance airflow entering the air inlets drives the impellers to operate to generate power output. In the present invention, the external resistance airflow around a motor vehicle moving at a speed is converted into power for use, which greatly reduces energy consumption and improves the moving speed of a motor vehicle. A motor vehicle equipped with wind-powered pneumatic engine is also provided.

Abstract: An all electric vehicle that produces zero CO2 emissions and capable of traveling an unlimited amount of mileage is presented. This vehicle is considered air and electric because it uses a wind turbine generator, compressed air and a high voltage battery to generate electricity to power the DC motors that drive this vehicle. Therefore this vehicle is called the Wind Turbine Generator Air Electric Vehicle (WTGAEV). There exists an integrated system that enables this vehicle to maintain a consistent energy supply to automatically recharge the high voltage battery. This integrated system consists of a wind turbine generator (WTG), air motor, air compressor, air tank, and battery. The power train receives its energy from the motion of the vehicle. When the vehicle is in forward motion the air flow from the nose of the vehicle is collected and directed toward the blades of the WTG which generates electric.

As a thin vehicle whose chasis was no wider than forty five inches, it would need an electrical system less than ninety seven volts. Connected in series, the four or five solar panels contemplated in this patent would provide most of the power. To make sure that one could use their vehicle regularly, there would also be a supplemental plug in capacity.

Abstract: A power-generating plug-and-play vehicle is provided, which includes a main vehicle body, a plurality of solar cell units coupled to the vehicle, a gear-driven power unit, a power storage unit, an accelerator unit and a drum-motor-driven power unit. The plurality of solar cell units are capable of converting solar energy to electrical energy, which is in turn stored in the power storage unit. The gear-driven power unit converts mechanical energy to electrical energy, which is also stored in the power storage unit. The accelerator unit and the drum-motor-driven power unit convert between mechanical energy and electrical energy, thereby appropriately adjusting the means for driving the main vehicle body. The plurality of solar cell units may be removed and the angle at which the solar cell panel is mounted may be adjusted via gearing of the solar cell panel and the gear-driven power unit.
