  • Patent number: 10023249
Abstract: A drag reducing apparatus is provided for use with vehicles having surfaces that are not streamlined. The apparatus includes an exterior cover that forms a drag reducing shape when the apparatus is fully extended. The apparatus can be retracted to a space saving configuration. A scissors linkage extends and retracts the apparatus. The scissors linkage can be motorized, and the motor can extend the scissors linkage by turning in a first direction and can retract the apparatus by turning in a second direction. The scissors linkage can hold the exterior cover taut when the apparatus is fully extended. The scissors linkage can support the exterior cover at intermediate locations when the apparatus is not fully extended. The apparatus can include support linkages and intermediate moveable members that support the exterior cover and define the drag reducing shape.

  • Patent number: 9361934
Abstract: The present invention has an object to improve usability of a vehicle-mounted electronic device. The vehicle-mounted electronic device is configured to execute, when unauthorized content is detected by an unauthorized content detecting unit, an audio reproduction restriction on a display device, and when a volume change operation is executed during the audio reproduction restriction, to cause the display device to display a message indicating that the volume change operation has been executed during the audio reproduction restriction. More specifically, the displayed message indicates that the audio reproduction restriction associated with the unauthorized content reproduction is executed and the volume change operation is also executed during the execution. Therefore, the volume can be changed when next content is reproduced, resulting in preventing unexpected high-volume audio from being outputted and thus improving usability.

  • Publication number: 20090152026
Abstract: This invention allows for the even distribution of mulch with minimal human effort. Mulch distribution is common with today's homeowner and business owner and will provide a certain aesthetic appeal to the vegetation of a flower bed or the curb appeal of a building. The primary difficulty with mulch distribution is getting the mulch to the site. This device will consist of a dolly, which will enable the user to load a desired quantity of mulch from a central loading site and then transport the mulch easily to the desired area and allow the individual to distribute the mulch evenly. This device can be filled remotely with a mulch truck so that the individual homeowner or business owner does not have to physically lift great amounts of mulch over long periods of time in order to put them on flower beds or around other areas of vegetation.

  • Publication number: 20090096240
Abstract: A trash management apparatus in a vehicle includes a recessed portion, a moveable upper drawer, and a stationary lower bin. The drawer moves in one direction within the recessed portion to direct trash into the stationary lower bin. The drawer has a through-opening allowing trash to pass into the lower bin when the drawer is moved in the one direction, with the bin being removable via an access door in an exposed lateral surface of the center console. A sensor detects a presence or level of trash within the bin or the drawer, and an indicator illuminates when a predetermined amount or level of trash is detected. An actuator is alternately connected to the upper drawer to move the drawer in the one direction when a sensor determines that trash in the drawer exceeds a threshold level.

  • Patent number: 6523628
Abstract: To provide a small-sized vehicle in which a convenient pocket is provided in a single driver's seat portion. Furthermore, a brake master cylinder is disposed by making effective use of space without reduction of the capacity of the pocket, and the maintenance of a reservoir tank of the brake master cylinder thus disposed is ensured. A meter cover portion is disposed in a pocket of an inner panel at a position offset rightwardly from the center in the width direction of the vehicular body to form small and large capacity pocket parts on the right and left sides of the vehicle. A brake pedal is disposed on the right side of a steering column extending in an approximate center line in the width direction of the vehicular body, and a brake master cylinder connected to the brake pedal is disposed behind the meter cover portion. Such a layout is advantageous since it allows a driver to easily operate the pedals while ensuring the pocket capacity.
