Abstract: Surfaces to be lubricated are supplied with lubricating oil by containing the oil within a reservoir filled with a porous oleophobic mass forming an oil receptacle which is impregnated with the oil, and communicating the reservoir to the surfaces to effect expulsion of oil from the reservoir to the surfaces by the negative capillary forces active on the oil within the receptacle pores.
Abstract: A liner sheet for a magnetic tape cartridge, said sheet being a fibrous sheet containing thermoplastic synthetic fibers with at least those fibers which are in its surface layer being bonded as a result of heat melting, said fibrous sheet having (1) an apparent specific gravity 0.55 to 0.85 time the specific gravity of the polymer constituting the fibers, (2) air permeability expressed by a pressure drop of not more than 200 cm Aq/mm when air is caused to flow at a speed of 10 cm/sec in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the sheet and (3) a thickness of 50 to 300 microns, and said fibrous sheet containing in its structure a lubricant and an antistatic agent dispersed therein.
Abstract: A lubricator for an automatic riveter positions an absorbent pad containing a liquid lubricant in the path of the riveter's drill bit when the bit is being moved laterally. The absorbent pad is resiliently held to ensure contact between the pad and the drill bit. When drilling only, the pad is mounted at an angle to a cylinder and is driven back and forth by the cylinder to contact the drill bit and transfer lubricant.

Abstract: A holder for the ring of ring spinning machine and ring twisting machine has an oil-retaining substance disposed therein and at least one oil supply tank detachably fitted in a recess therein. The oil supply tank has an opening at its bottom leading to the oil-retaining substance for automatic lubrication of the ring.
Abstract: A matrix printer comprising a fanned arrangement of printing wires. Near their bearing points the printing wires are guided through openings in tag portions bent out of the plane of a strip-shaped porous member containing a lubricant. Lubricant is thus applied to the printing wires by contact between the printing wires and the edges of the openings adjacent their bearing points. The described method of lubrication results in a substantial prolongation of the service life of the printing wires as well as of the bearings.
Abstract: A lubricator for running wire ropes having a container adapted to be secured adjacent the rope having a hinged spring-closed cover provided with downwardly turned marginal edge portion for applying pressure against a projecting edge of a wick which extends over a horizontally projecting portion of the front wall of the container so that the wick projects substantially horizontally from the container.
Abstract: A cloth cutting machine having an improved lubrication system therein including a motor mounted on the machine housing for driving a crosshead supported in a crosshead guide through link means, and a lubricant reservoir positioned above the crosshead and having a plurality of wicks emanating therefrom for conducting lubricant to areas of contact between the crosshead and the crosshead guide and between the crosshead and the linkage which drives it.
